QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
Snow emerged from the mists of Cetus to the maze of tunnels, carrying the scent of mud and a wet dog with him as he walked forward with a casual pace. The mere size of this new area had taken the wolf by surprise and soon enough he had already stopped in order to admire one of the white ice formations, forgetting which way he had been walking towards.
At first he sniffs the ice, his tail flickering as he got closer. The ice carried little to no scent so next the wolf sticks out his tongue and licks the cold substance, only to pull back almost immediately because of the strange sensation on his tongue. Ears folded back and tail down Snow lets out a little growl while glaring at the ice formation, but the ice stood still. It wasn’t even alive. Still, it was suspicious so the ball of white fur decided to leave it be for now and just keep on walking.
Which way though? He ponders for a moment before taking a random direction calling it the right way. The wolf had no idea where he was going but wherever his paws would lead him, Snow hoped to find some food. His stomach was beginning to feel empty, must have been because of all the playing he had done earlier.
Deli was standing right next to the wall, staring at a flat expanse of stone with a chunk of charcoal clutched in their fist. Their eyes were narrowed, their usual wide, toothy grin just a small smirk at the moment as they every so often leaned in to makes some marks or rub some away with a paw that was steadily getting darker and darker.
Before them, stretched out against a piece of the rock wall, one of the few walls that could stay dry for more then a few minutes, was a sketch of the great dragon. He wasn't swooping down from the ceiling in a blaze of fire, nor setting the caves alight as he'd done some cycles ago, but he was falling, as if an angel cast from the sky, spikes of crystals bursting from the wound in his chest. It had been excellent news to hear on the line of gossip and rumor that the dragon was not only gone but really gone, possibly dead. They'd like to shake the hand (or paw) of whoever had made that happen.
Deli snickered as they added a few more touches to their art before squatting down to begin shuffling through their bag. The padding of pawsteps, however, had their ears flicking up, head snapping towards the incoming wolf and immediately frowning. From the distance, they didn't realize that the wolf 1. had a stone on their forehead rather then an ear, 2. had no feather hanging from their mane, and 3. had wildly different colored eyes. They saw the form, the size - a pup - and the color and their mind immediately went to a particularly annoying canine.
"Comet?" they barked aggressively. "What the hell are you doing here? Back for round 2? Gonna kill me this time?" The last line they said in a high pitched mocking tone, as if trying to emulate the young wolf's annoying oh Raheerah she was so annoying voice, punctuated with a snicker.
Angry words echoed in the tunnels, startling the young wolf big time as he had not been expecting it, so far all he had heard was the water dripping down from the walls. Was someone else there too?? Ears folded back and his tail limb between his back legs Snow looked around and cautiously made his way closer to the source. What was this? Or rather, who was this? They looked like him, sort of, their patterns were different but their head was that of a canines same as his hind feet.
A wolf standing on two feet? Could he learn to stand up like that as well?! The thought was almost enough to get the young Gembound excited but it was difficult to stay that way since this stranger seemed VERY angry. Wait, they were angry about him? ”U-uh, s-sorry! Um, I’m pretty sure that I haven’t done anything bad to you though…?” Had he missed something? ”Wait! I’m not Comet, my name is Snow! W-who is Comet anyway? Is that a name of another like us or...something else?”
Now he was getting worried, based on the walking wolfs reaction this Comet must have been bad news, maybe even dangerous. Snow should remember that name just in case and keep his eyes and ears open. ”Why would they want to kill you? That sounds serious...are you in trouble?” Oh no, maybe he should ask if there was something that he could do to help them!

Deli
Deli blinked at the stranger and it only took a second of looking closer to realized oops! that wasn't Comet at all. Some other wolf kid - damn was Deli gonna run into all of them or something? Eh, well, good thing it wasn't Comet. Deli was not in the mood to be messing with that annoying little shit right now, nor where they feeling like fighting someone that was just gonna suck all the water out of them. Again.
They relaxed when they came to the realization that they wouldn't have to deal with Comet again and smiled wider, although it was without as much hostility. "Ah...wrong guy! You look like an asshole I know is all! Yeah, she looks just like you just different eyes, different stone." They snickered. "Although, don't know what you mean by "us"! I ain't a wolf and I don't walk on four legs anymore!" They turned away from Snow for a moment, reaching into their bag for a bottle of black paint - recently filled up for this particular project - and uncorked it right off. They dipped a finger right in and began to paint it on the wall, following the marks they'd made and beginning the base.
As they started their work, they spoke to the pup that was still there. "Oh, haha! She was just bein' an asshole! I played a harmless little prank on her and she thought that would warrant an attempt on my life!" They snickered, as if this was funny, but truth be told, they were still pretty pissed about it. It had taken a long ass time to finally feel like they'd had enough water. "No idea what her deal is - she's probably crazy! And nah, I'm not in trouble. I can defend myself." They didn't elaborate, but they had half a mind to show Snow just a little bit of their incredible power - maybe hold out a paw and make a bone spike burst from their palm. But that would hurt and they didn't see the point. Also they were busy painting. Pain like that would only distract them.
"So, Snow, you just hatch or some shit? You're pretty small." They were feeling a pretty good mood now, chatty, in fact, now that they knew that it wasn't Comet they had to deal with.
