Well, this was puzzling.

Beast's past two cycles had been... quiet. Lonely. Not in a depressing, nerve-wracking way, no, but after that encounter with the terrifying beast of Tunnel P he was not-so inclined to social interaction. Instead, the creature simply slunk around shaded tunnels and ate whatever plants grew out of the cracks. He didn't notice the presence of a certain elvish figure, or the billowing cold in the Core, or even when ancient titans battled it out at the heart of a blizzard. The one thing he did notice was a loud, mind-numbing rumbling one day, followed by the inexplicable appearance of new tunnels.

And of course, he travelled down one. First was a deep, chilling passage into a snowy mountainside-- he hurried past that as fast as his legs could go. Short fur wasn't exactly suited for snow, after all. Past that was a cool, but warmer tunnel with a crystal stream spanning it's width. He stopped far too many times just to sip it's crystal-clear waters. And finally, at the very end, Beast crossed under an ornate set of columns and sighted...

Grass. Just grass.

Oh, and deep violet light raining down from the ceiling. And a massive flower tree sprinkling petals everywhere. And some massive, incomprehensibly advanced structure far off in the distance, surrounded by manicured gardens.

This was all a lot to take in, though, so the hybrid simply relegated himself to sitting under the blossoming tree and letting his thoughts catch up to him. A short breather after his long journey.
