Now that V-Chaos-Two was 'fixed', they had to spar. Not that they were well versed in it. Not with their old body, at least. They had their spear, though, which could be an advantage.

"Labradorite," they said, nodding politely, "Master Vargas has asked that I practice sparring. Would you practice with me? You and I haven't interacted much anyway."

They hadn't interacted with anyone but Khavur, really. Almost everyone kept to themselves. Socializing wasn't really a big thing to Vargas as long as you knew how to fight and how to listen to him.

"Either we could play a game of chase through the trees or fight one on one in the field," they said.

It had heard V-Chaos-Two had gotten 'fixed,' but it hadn't seen the results for itself until now. They certainly looked a lot.. better. Standing up straighter. Eyes bright and seeing, not unfocused through the haze of their own glow. It was happy for them, but it didn't know what exactly to say. So it just didn't say anything.

"Chaos-Two." It replied with a curt nod. "Of course I'll practice with you." To be frank, it was getting a little.. rusty. Maybe rusty wasn't the right word, but it'd been a while since it really, truly trained it's skills. Mostly, it just did it's duties without complaint.

"Chasing would be more beneficial, I think." It replied, "We could both work on our running and stealth." Labradorite was skilled at stealth, but rather ineffective at running for long distances. Chaos-two, on the other hand, looked like they could be the opposite- though it was impossible to tell, considering it'd never really gotten to run until now.

"What do you want to be first? Chaser or chased?" It figured it'd be best to let Chaos-two choose, they were the one who'd suggested training in the first place after all.

"A good point," they said, tapping clawed fingers on their staff, "Hm. I'll chase you, if you don't mind. I'll give you a head start so you can either run or hide, and then come after you."

V-Chaos-Two set their spear against a tree to retrieve later. They'd need all four limbs to run properly, especially if they were to catch up with Labradorite, who was bigger.

"Alright, go ahead," they said, "I'll run after you soon."

They sat down and folded their hands together, ears perked up expectantly.

It nodded, "Alright. Sounds good to me." It wasn't often Labradorite was put into the position of the prey. More often it was the hunter, stalking through the shadows or murky depths to hunt down it's prey. Even in spars, it was a hunter fighting another hunter. This would certainly be interesting.

It watched Chaos-Two set down their spear in preparation to chase. It expected them to get into some readied position not to just... sit down. It hesitated for a second before it realized This is the head start. You should be running already.

So, it took off towards the treeline- it'd be far easier to hide within the forest than the open plains. Fast enough to even surprise itself it tore across the field, slipping past the tree-line and into the forest.

Chaos-Two watched Labradorite disappear into the trees, only standing after they'd gone completely out of sight. They cracked their neck and stretched before shaking out their legs, tensing up.

And then they bolted.

With a simple spell, the heartbeats of lessers lit up in their vision. Tree rabbits, previously hidden, flashed a bright red in their vision, their hearts beating. Deer were seen through the trees, catsquirrels up in the branches.

And a big red blob in front of them. Labradorite.

They ran slowly, wanting to match their pace and not try to catch up, planning out their strategy. If they could sneak up on Labradorite, then they could come in from one of their flanks and launch a surprise attack. With that in mind, they veered off to one side, aiming to do just that.

Feet thumped against the ground rhythmically as Labradorite weaved between the trees. Lessers scattered in it's wake, hopefully distracting it's chaser rather than giving away it's position. But Labradorite knew of magic that would make all of that trivial, anyways, and with how Chaos-two had relied so heavily on magic before it's mutation, Labradorite was certain it at least knew the spell. If it hadn't cast it, or had tried and failed, it was only a matter of time until it succeed and Labradorite was spotted.

So, what could it do?

It's first thought was water- the river was far, and it was likely to get caught again- but the water truey was it's element.

So, it turned, bee-lining (hopefully) towards the direction of water. However, a previous unseen fallen log heavily slowed it's progress, leaving the river no closer- though Chaos-two certainly was.

The hybrid followed Labradorite until the spell wore off, but they had an idea of their position. As long as they were careful, they'd be able to catch their 'prey' and then switch from chaser to chased. They suspected that would be fun enlightening too.

Chaos-Two hid behind a bush for a minute, despite being far away anyway. It didn't hurt to be precautious. With a quick spell, they darted forward, steps muffled so that the other wouldn't hear them coming. There were very slight noises, but nothing that would draw Chaos-Two's attention normally.

They circled behind them and approached carefully, a hand held out, ready to tag.

It was still in the middle of Pegasus's forest, completely out of it's element. Hopefully there was still a sizeable gap between itself and it's chaser. Though with how it's pace had been so far, that was unlikely.

Something told it it was taking this game training exercise too seriously, but the point was to win, was it not? Still, maybe it'd be a good idea to talk with Chaos-two afterwards- to exchange advice, of course..

It was snapped from this brief train of thought and back into the moment by a glimpse of movement. Chaos-two. With only a moment to react, they rushed forward, trying to get out of tagging distance in time.

They whipped around, darting out of range, but unable to truly gain any distance- the trees too dense to provide a convenient escape route.

@V-Chaos-Two

A smile broke out across their face before they could stop it. This was fun, unintentional or not. They really only hoped that Labradorite felt the same.

"Gah! Almost!", they said, holding back a hysterical giggle.

Chaos-Two bolted into the trees, their magic shrouding them in darkness as they circled around and came for Labradorite's other side, able to be heard, but not seen. Perhaps this time they'd have the advantage.

It found itself mimicking Chaos-two's smile- the glimpse it had gotten before the other had disappeared back into the trees, anyways. Maybe it was taking this whole thing too seriously- it was just training, after all. Chaos-two seemed to be having fun, regardless.

As Chaos-two bolted back into the trees, Labradorite took that opportunity to (hopefully) make a clean get-away. It started towards the trees. If it was quick enough....

It managed to dash out of the way, rushing back into the treeline just as Chaos-two came rushing out.
