There was a distinct cracking sound, one that many would know to be a chrysalis opening for the first time. Only, it was not the first time for this one, or the second, or the third. It was the fourth, except, well, the being inside did not know that. Liquid pooled outside of a crack the stone held, as if a sluice had failed to keep the waters from flowing. Blank eyes opened, and legs instinctively moved to hold himself upright. This was like his hatching, when he was small, except. Well. Things were different.

Aran could feel the chain around his neck, resting against his fur but not pulling at it. His neck craned down so his head could get a look at it, only for him to realize that his sight was not coming from his eyes. Something was very, very wrong. Somehow he couldn't feel too bothered by that fact. He could still see, but the angle was wrong. It was at his neck. It was where the chain was wrapped around in a link. Did that make him see? He couldn't take it off then, that would make him blind.

Lifting his head and turning his body, Aran was able to notice the sand at his hooves, and the water that was close to it. Where was this? Where was he? Aran could not think of any time he'd ever been to this place before, so why was he waking up here? When he tried to think, he only came back blank. Empty space in his head, like there was nothing there to begin with. That was concerning, he could remember when he was born the first time, but not how he got to this place that he considered beautiful.

He would have to find someone and ask what this area was called. There was no way he could ignore some place so nice.
