QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

CALAMITY
so all the things can grow
It'd found that it preferred this cave. The cool breeze, and the sound of life and water. And the green. It loved the green. It'd speak to verdant, sometimes, of the green. Sometimes other colors mixed in, especially where it'd surroundings became flat and open, nothing but rolling hills speckled with color.
It'd become obsessed, to no small degree, with growing the green upon it's outer rocky shell. There had been little success- patches of moss, mostly. The occasionally particularly hardy flower, typically dandelion or clover or some other weed. The rest wilted and died within days, or refused to take root entirely.
It refused to give up, though.
So here it was now, awkwardly pushing one of it's smaller plates against a yellow-headed dandelion. The yellow ones, it'd found, often survived the longest. So, it'd stick to yellow, and maybe after it could graduate to other colors. It wanted to be vibrant. Alive, more than it already was.
Something took root.
Attached awkwardly to the side of the jagged stone plant clung the dandelion, rooted there by a burst of magic. Given that the heat of it's core didn't burn it, maybe it'd survive this time.
It hummed delightedly at the thought. It would be unaware of anything approaching as distracted as it was with this success- none of it's senses were all that good in the first place.
The air of Pegasus was really pretty, as was the whole cave- a little more wild than Cepheus, but still full of life, and full of existence. She really liked it! She'd danced through its rivers, giggled as she explored, twirled herself dizzy in a large, open meadow.
Imagine all the different kind of plants, here!
Pollen had been in the middle of staring up at the cave ceiling, her imagination running wild at the image of a ton of ivory deer around her, feeding in this land, gardening it and creating something beautiful. Oh, that'd be so good! She'd like that. Shuffling up, Pollen peered about, one paw raising up like a makeshift visor against the brightness of the bulbs.
What was that? A small round.. rock thing, was floating there, and drew Pollen's attention. What was it doing? Dropping down to all fours Pollen meandered closer, her head tilted nearly ninety degrees to the left. It was looking at dandelions... She liked dandelions! They were pretty! Resetting her head, Pollen grinned as she trotted up, her tail wagging.
"Hello!" She saw the flower on the being's(?) form, and she turned to it. "You're very pretty! Those are pretty flowers!" One paw pointed up to the dandelion-accentuated plate, excitement on her face.
Unless otherwise stated, Pollen is always wearing some form of overalls with her gold bandana. She currently has a clipped mane and a covering of waxy foliage and vines on her exposed shoulders and arms.

CALAMITY
so all the things can grow
Pollen's sudden arrival caused Calamity's ambient hum to rise in pitch, plates automatically contracting in a protective measure before it realized Oh. It's not dangerous. and relaxed into it's prior position. Pollen was hard to see clearly- light green against slightly darker green in it's already poor vision, and as she moved behind one of it's plates to investigate it's new flower it became even harder. It got the gist of her appearance, however- fluffy, green, four-legged. Very animal, indeed.
It sort of innately understood Pollen's way of speaking, but that didn't make it any less foreign. All of it's conversations with The Starkiller were through a much different medium- the sharing of thoughts, and emotions, drifting between the two of them like leaves in a river. It wasn't used to this noisy, outward way of communication. After an attempt to echo the creature's 'hello' ended in just another strange, louder hum, it realized it was entirely incapable of doing so. Or at least, not without practice, perhaps.
Maybe it could create a similar connection? Verdant has managed to do so, so why wouldn't it be able to?
A spark of magicka bloomed and then wilted just as quickly. It let out a frustrated hum, it's core flaring for a brief moment, before letting out a quiet, airy sound not unlike a sigh. It drifted lower to the ground- just low enough to avoid crushing any grasses or flowers. Tendrils reached out, fiery and hot but a safe temperature when compared to the molten ball at it's center. These would gently brush against it's surroundings- the flowers and tall grass, and even Pollen's paws, should she not move away from the strange sight. The humming fell into a sort of rhythm, rising up and down not unlike the breathing of a sleeping animal, or the purring of a cat.

Pollen watched patiently as the plats moved. What an odd person. They were buzzing like some strange, plant shaped microwave, and Pollen hummed back very quietly, chuckling through her grin.
Did it notice her? It didn't have eyes, but it seemed to react to her coming closer, and so she waited a little longer as its hums rose and fall, her head tilted. It was... pretty, somewhat, and she sat close to it when it drifted down, quietly offering a silent solidarity.
A soft "oh" rose from her at the tendrils, and Pollen rose one paw to touch it, gently wrapping her digits around the end like holding someone's strange octopus hand. It was warm- a little hot, even- but it was cool! Pollen smiled up at Calamity, her tail whipping through the grass behind her. "Your plant's really pretty," she offered, still holding onto Calamity's tendril.
Reaching out with her other hand, Pollen scooped up the dirt around the dandelions and looking for seeds, eventually deciding to just bring up a clump and press it very gently to Calamity's plate, next to the one that had latched on. "If you want more, it'll be easier to use seeds!" And she pulled deep into her magic, trying to will some more plants to take root on the odd surface.
Provided, the being didn't move away. If it did, then the plant may as well root into her own skin- but, the magic strain was still there.
