Galleon could barely tell if she had hit One or not. She already wasn't particularly thin-skinned. But she didn't have any time to focus on that. She couldn't see what was happening. She could barely tell what had gone on, besides her attempt to knock One over. But she could feel what was happening. The ground was alive with vibrations, things impacting. It was beginning to overload her sensory pits and her lateral line. Nerves caused electric sparks to ripple down her back.
She did the first things her instincts told her: she dove down. By sheer luck, the panic stricken and sense-muddled Galleon managed to avoid most everything. Before she dove, though, she could feel the dull thuds of hotdogs and popcorn buckets hit her back. As she dived deeper, she felt the earth open up to swallow her-- a pocket of broken earth beneath the sand. Galleons heart leapt into her throat. But with quick reflexes Galleon twisted, paddling and exhaling hard and managed to boost herself out of the trap. She'd managed to avoid an untimely chrysalis via pit trap, but found herself forced to stay near the surface. Galleon did not enjoy the idea of running into one of those traps again. Her sanctuary had been tampered with, but by whom?
Even though the arena was pitch black, Galleon kept her fin flush against her back. Afraid of whatever had set that trap up of coming for her again. Of, somehow being being spotted, and becoming a target for another trap. Galleon was too disoriented, too cautious to be relieved none of the hazards hit her. But once again, despite the pockets of broken earth beneath, the sands proved her refuge.
