First off, a big happy holidays to everyone (whichever you may celebrate!) and a Happy New Year!
We're kicking off 2024 strong. December saw a huge resurgence in activity (yay!) and a plethora of delightful posts and pairings to choose from for this month's OTMs! But before we get to those... a little bit of news! The holiday event saw a multitude of themed gifts being given out to participating Gembounds by grateful NPCs--everything from specialty spells to enchanted items to lost, revivable stones... and cookbooks. The activity doesn't end there: a new quest, Awakening the Dreamer, has opened up in Hydra. What is the Masked Merchant staring at, out there? What lies beneath Hydra's sands..?

Congratulations to our January OTM winners! January's Character of the Month is a switch from the usual Chaos Forge/corrupted monstrosity. This time, instead, we have the dutiful and fascinating Order drone, Vindicator! For our Pair of the Month, to quite possibly nobody's surprise, a late starting but amazing... frenemyship?? between Juggernaut and V-Zoisite-One has fully absorbed our attention. Thread of the Month is, maybe also unsurprisingly, their heartwrenching thread together: Enemy Territory. Check it out, and watch Gembounds experience such Emotions™ as heavy guilt, terror, self-doubt, trauma, pity and nausea. (Is nausea an emotion? It is now!) Sapphire is January's Member of the Month, returning with a number of notable characters including the brand-new foal Sair, and the grizzly bear Tema who is battling with ongoing visions of chaos!
