old friends and new
Welcome to Origin Cave's Ninth Anniversary! Wow, we have been around a while. This year's seen the gradual opening of multiple caves, the marching advance of Order in the shadows, and plenty of hints of things to come. Over the years, we've seen so, so many players and characters come and go; so many in-character relationships form, and groups join together... and on that note, this year's theme is: Old Friends and New. Before we get into it: this year's anniversary event will run the entire month of May, and will feature a special Anniversary Raffle--more on that below!--as well as our yearly Gacha rolls. There's also a new skin by CJ to celebrate!
OLD FRIENDS
For the month of May, there's special rewards for threads between characters who have previously threaded together. Old friends, allies, those who've met in passing, even enemies... GM tag these threads, and you might get something special. In addition, these threads, once finished, can be claimed in Magicka Market for double magicka, even if they aren't finished within the month of May! (Just remember to also link at least one previous thread shared by the participants.) You can also claim ongoing Old Friends threads for Raffle tickets in the Anniversary Raffle. Threads begun from April onward count.
...AND NEW
Also for the month of May, any advertisements for Origin posted elsewhere will earn double magicka (ʡ10 per advertisement). If you aren't sure how that works, there's a post here with an easy-to-copy code and brief information. You can also claim Ads for Raffle Tickets in the Anniversary Raffle. In addition, all characters registered in the month of May may select two starter spells (low intensity, in-element) instead of the usual one.

Gacha rolls!
This year, every player will get to roll five Gacha rolls at any time in May (to give you some leeway), with a maximum of one roll allowed per day. Our daily raffles will again be using the Discord command &gacha in the specified channel #gacha-rolls. If you are not in our Discord, don't worry! Simply post below to let us know you will need rolls done for you, and a GM will roll your prize for you daily.
The #gacha-rolls channel is set to slowmode, so please only use it for your daily rolls. You may roll only once per day during the event period. Rolls include a timestamp for your convenience. At the end of the event, if nobody rolls a Winner's Choice, we will roll a list of names for it!
Prizes that specify a design will be GM-designed means that while we still may roll random properties, we have the creative freedom to design as we like to make it cool! See below for information on Gacha prizes, and instructions on how to claim them!
