Good lord.
Audland too had been a victory, and while that victory had been a certain kind of
sweet, it also could not have been more taxing on Audland's body and mind. First of all, his entire body wasn't built for lots of extraneous movement in this above-zero weather, and secondly, it was
so hard to keep his magic repressed when all it wanted to do was
spike at the first
swing. But all this was nothing in comparison to what Audland was finding to be his true weakness in each of these matches.
His
opponents all seemed to be of a certain...
brand, it seemed.
Now, the man in front of Audland right now was built nothing at all like how Plover was built. Outside of being large. But this man, Audland matched his height, and given what it took to get an object off the ground, whether or not Audland realized it or not, it was quite possible that he doubled this man's weight. But with all that rippling
muscle evident just beneath the goat-man's dark maroon hide, it was going to be hard to tell just how much weight those things carried. For more reasons than one.
And speaking of, those
wings. Audland was learning a thing or two about wings just by
ogling looking at his opponent.
Look, I'm not saying he's
attractive to Audland or anything, but... Madison did say directly that Azrael is hot. And for Audland? I'd put that at
distracting.
Not to mention, something about this opponent in particular felt excessively
powerful. Audland had no idea what that was about, but something about it made his gut wrench
juuust a little.
He sighed a long-suffering sigh, already sick of his own mind games. After doing a few stretches—a neck roll, a knuckle crack, and something to help the stiffness in his shoulders and back—Audland prepared himself for another glorious beatdown.
At least, if worse came to worst, Audland had plenty of armor in the form of fuzzy fat.
Audland was decent for strategy usually, but given how on-the-fritz his mental state was at the beginning of this fight, he didn't trust the upper echelons of his judgment much. Better to start with what he knew, then.
Get as close as possible, and flatten him. Get as close as possible in order to flatten him. And for no other reason.
Round: 1/5
Attempt: Pounce on Azrael
Defense: "plenty of armor in the form of fuzzy fat"
Injuries: A little stiff from the previous match. Distracted by some mystical unknowable force we may never know what it is oooo (it's called being gay).
