Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam, Where the deer and the antelope play

There they were. A group of deer in the distance. It was the blue-gray male that Tenn had his sights on but he was sure that the male's harem --who were for some reason looking rather plump-- would follow if he could just get a hold to that guy. Tenn's satchel and banjo along with Daisy were back at his and Cayenne's home for safe keeping while he held a single coiled vine lasso in one hand. He was hiding behind the spire while he and his partner kept an eye on the deer. Today he would not fail... Cayenne had lent her strength and helped make a beautiful garden and fence now he would get the deer to put inside of the ranch's borders. It would be a great start.

He tapped the lasso on his hip in anticipation while he lowered his hat over his eyes. "Ready when you are, darlin'." He said to the dark lemur next to him. The plan was to lure the herd over with some well-placed and tasty plants then he would lasso the male and attempt to subdue him. He'd done it once but he'd taken his eyes off of the creature but today he wouldn't let that happen. He would get a deer as a steed one way or another.

I've been longing for daisies to push through the floor I've never really felt like this before And I wish plant life would grow all around me so I won't feel dead anymore

She was hiding with Tenn behind the spire, the aura of magick buzzing in her teeth, and she raised her hand, feeling jittery, like her blood pumped full of adrenaline. Was it because of the spire, or was it because she was with Tenn?

Regardless, she smiled at him and said mischievously, "No promises," and reached for her magic, focusing on the seeds she'd planted between them and the deer. Honestly she didn't know if she had good control over her magic, but she could feel the life ready to bloom inside the seeds she'd picked, and she reached for it, letting everything else fade away but the connection between her and them.

They answered her like an old friend, growing quickly, and she smiled, watching the beautiful green-blue leaves unfurl with little yellow buds, and she could smell them from here, her mouth watering. It was her utmost favorite plant to eat, and hard to find - but when she did, it was a luxury, a delight.

Cayenne had put one of the seeds she'd found of it in her garden, and the thought made her chuckle. She couldn't wait to get back to it and make it properly bloom.

Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam, Where the deer and the antelope play

Tennessee waited, body buzzing with excitement as he stared at the cave deer. He could feel the magick crackling in the air as Cayenne cast one of her plant spells. A few blossoming sprouts grew from the ground casting a delicious aroma throughout the area. Tenn could feel his stomach rumbling. After this was all over he would have to go and help himself to some fruits and insects, perhaps even some soothing Dormire Tea.

The blue-gray stag lifted his head, nose twitching as he scented the aromatic flowers then after grunting to his harem he trotted over and began to nibble the stems. The female cave deer began to nibble the other flowers around him.

Time for the fun to begin.

Tenn raised the lasso and began to expertly twirl it above his head. With eyes narrowed in concentration he then tossed it towards the the deer, hoping to wrangle it around its neck or one of its horns.

Success! He got it by one of its single pronged horns! But now, it was angry. With an angry bellow the gray deer began to plunge and buck, a reply of what had happened before but this time he was prepared and didn't leap straight in. With a grunt Tenn began to pull on the deer though from its greater size and strength he was beginning to be pulled. However, with sheer determination he wrestled with the rope and came in closer. He needed an opening so he could get onto its back and try to ride it into submission like before.

When Tenn raced to lasso the main giant, she raced to her secondary duty, clutching the satchel at her hip full of the leaves with ragged teeth-like edges that made sweet smoke, and she took up the torch that Tenn had prepared earlier, running to the pile of wood that circled the area they knew the deer would gather. It was a really large pile ready for a lot of smoke, and she quickly ran around the pile, setting corners of wood alight, placing the fresh leaves on top in harried handfuls.

"Okay Tenn, cover your nose!" She called, bringing up the scarf that was tied around her neck over her nose so she wouldn't breathe in the smoke. It was catching quick with the dead leaves under the twigs and the fresh ones on top, and with a big broad leaf that they had placed near it, she waved the smoke towards the deer herd. Even through her scarf she felt like she needed to yawn, her limbs relaxing.

The lemur's tongue poked out of the side of his mouth as he dug his feet into the ground, trying to keep himself from being pulled to and fro. It was a difficult business but he managed to do so with his tight grip and strong muscle. He heard Cayenne's call and grunted though he wasn't sure if she heard or not.

With a toss of his head he dislodged the hat from his head where it fell over his muzzle to shield his nose from the fumes. The cave deer does began to look around sleepily as they started to smell the smoke. It was taking effect and making it so they didn't run and so their bodies relaxed and became less stressed. Even the stag he was fighting began to calm, its body fighting less viciously at the lasso. Now was his chance.

He attempted to pull the deer forward and then maneuver himself so that he could leap onto its back... but even drugged the deer managed to evade his lunge. Its eyes stared angrily at Tennessee while it still fought to keep him off of his back, like it remembered what happened the last time. The fight went on...

Now that the smoke was sufficient enough to make the cave deer sway on their feet, she watched Tenn try to grab the cave stag and fail. She bit her lip - it wasn't enough for the stag, it was much bigger than any in his harem, and it would take more than that. She looked in her satchel and grabbed a handful of Dormire flowers, taking a deep breath under her scarf.

She ran towards them both, hoping to help. She held just a small amount of fear in her belly that Tenn might get hurt in all of this, and she needed to help as much as she possibly could.

While the cave stag was distracted and struggling with Tenn, she ran around the back of them, avoiding their thrashing legs, and with a leap, she grabbed ahold of their tail and scrambled up onto their back. They really didn't like that, and tried to buck her off, but she held onto their fur as tightly as she could, her teeth clenched, afraid of the height and afraid of falling off.

She climbed her way carefully up the deer's back, holding onto its fur with all of her paws, her tail arched for balance, and she made it to the neck, all her nerves a jangled mess. With one fell motion, she pulled a clutch of fur at the back of the stag's head and while it was still surprised at this, its mouth open, she shoved a handful of the dormire flower down into its mouth, quickly taking her hand away as it snapped its teeth at her, renewing its thrashing.

Back and forth the pair wrestled with each other. Tenn pulling on the lasso and trying to get onto the stag while the stag yanked and tossed trying to get out of the lasso's grasp. It was a tiring process but he was as stubborn as a mule and wouldn't give up! He was so preocuppied with trying to subdue the deer that he didn't notice Cayenne until she had yanked the stag's head backwards and dumped the flowers into its mouth. He felt a flash of fear for her and panicked he yelled out, "Miss Cayenne, be careful by golly! This'uns a wild one!" He didn't want her anywhere near this guy. He had no idea how he'd react and she could get horribly hurt! Tunnel Runners could be mean little things as he'd seen before.

Still, he had to admit that her help was appreciated and it was perfect. The stag swallowed the flowers and immediately he noticed a change as both the smoke and the ingested plants took effect. The stag's movements became more lethargic as he tried to fight with Tenn. The lemur saw this as his chance and gave a huge tug on the stag's antlers. The deer stumbled forward and then the red lemur leaped and scrambled onto his back. He grabbed the lasso and pulled it backwards so that he could use it to keep a better grip. His feet grabbed into the deer's sparse fur as he held on for deer life while the deer began to buck and plunge. It was less violent as before when he'd first ridden but despite all of the drugs the creature was still putting up a valiant fight...

But so was Tenn.

"Yeeehaaaww!" He yelled out joyfully. Despite the terrifying height and the maddened stag, he was quite enjoying himself.

She felt the stag weaken after he swallowed the bunch of flowers, but she still held on as tightly as she could, calling back to Tenn, "I can see that!" with panicked humor. She was thrown around the stag's neck to the front when Tenn yanked on them, and with all four paws she held on for dear life. When Tenn scrambled on, it was life a fire raged in the stag, a pure fury to never be tamed, never submit, and she screamed, desperate to not be thrown off, her sound mixing with Tenn's voice of exhilarated joy.

Somehow, someway, fear gave her the strength the hang on, and she climbed over to Tenn, her knuckles white, her hands aching with the sheer effort, and she threw her arms around Tenn, her feet gripping the fur along with him, hoping to stabilize his efforts - but the terror in her gut told her that if one of them lost their grip, they'd both go flying off.

"What is this deer made of?" She yelled over Tenn's whoops of happiness and the stag's infuriated grunts and cries.

Amid the hoops and hollers of the exhilarated lemur one could hear the equally loud screams of his companion as she expressed her fear of the situation. Perhaps if Tenn weren't an adrenaline junky he would have been terrified as well but he lived for that feeling in the pit of his stomach that fueled his muscles. The plunging and jumping of the gray deer was just an obstacle for him to overcome and enjoy while doing it. He wrapped his tail about the female behind him to help root her to the spot. If he hurt himself then that was one thing but Cayenne getting herself hurt was something that he would not abide. He'd never forgive himself if she came to some irreparable damage.

Tennessee hung onto the vine lasso, pulling and holding onto it while he waited for the stag's strength to wane and for it to give up. Unfortunately, it seemed for a while like it wouldn't. The deer ran and grunted and bellowed and a few times the red lemur was nearly thrown off. In the end though the smoke and leaves along with the combined weight of the lemur's on his back exhausted the deer. It's bucking became less ferocious and its bellows all but ceased as it finally came to a stop. Its pink tongue lolled from the side of its mouth as he gulped in huge swallows of air.

Had he finally done it?

He glanced back at Cayenne in wonder before he reached out with one paw to try and touch the deer's head, tentatively. The stag grunted and shook his head, trying to get away from the touch. Tenn wisely pulled his paw back but laughed. "Well, I do believe we've gotten ourselves our first deer! 'E ain't too happy 'bout it right now but I imagine he'll come 'round with some TLC." A combination of good care and treats would surely swing the deer his way but for now he would be happy with this little victory. He'd let the deer catch its breath for a moment then he would attempt to ride it towards the pen.

She held onto Tenn for dear life, clutching her own arms so tightly even her normal nails were digging into her skin. Cayenne still held on, even when the stag had ceased its fighting, deciding not to trust it till she was well enough away and safely on the ground. Behind a fence. And certainly behind Tenn.

He was just amazing - lassoing the stag and climbing up and riding it till it was tired - how courageous and brave one must be to do this sort of thing! Cayenne was just scared out of her wits, only acting for fear of Tenn getting hurt.

She opened her mouth to speak, but found her voice hoarse from all the screaming she just did, and she had to cough a few times, her raspy voice barely a silken thread compared to its normal volume. "Are you going to name him?" She asked, turning her head a little to see the incredibly sleepy harem huddle around them - some were even lying there, asleep.
