The sting of her knee grew, the bite mark was swelling up at a rapid pace as her body was registering the invasion of poison. This was unlike any pain that she had ever experienced and the black dog had felt pain in her training. The voice of another caught her attention, turning to see a dark figure come her way and tough around her wound. "Watch out for that one . . . uggggg." Shutting her eyes tight, this was becoming unbearable. I need to be quicker on my feet. After all, that was her problem before. Nova just wasn't fast enough to dodge an attack.

The world was beginning to spin now, realizing just laying on the ground was the best she could do. The ground was moving underneath her and standing would never happen at this time. Nova was attempting to look for her dark savoir, but her eye sight had become a blur of color and nothing was clear. Shit. So, the claims from the snake fell on deaf ears for now, as she wasn't paying attention to them but on what was going on. "I don't . . ugggg, I feel like shit." Frantically looking about, trying to focus on the new voice.

Cayenne's mouth set in a hard and disbelieving line at the snake, and glanced at the slightly drooping glowing flower, then quickly averted her eyes.

"If that's true then...." She made a shooing motion to the snake. "Get back a distance and stop yourself. I'm going to try and help her, so...if you're telling the truth, then you'll do your best to keep yourself rational."

Then she looked at the dog and her mouth twisted. She'd dealt with poison before, with both her sister and her lover both being bitten multiple times, and time was of the essence. She put down her pack and rustled through it for a thin rope and tied off the dog's leg above the area that had been bitten, to help slow down the circulation somewhat.

"A magic flower that causes rage..." She muttered to herself as she gathered up a pile of leaves and set it aflame with one of Tenn's pyrogel matches, letting most of her sleepy herbs and the one that relaxed the body, slowed heartrate, and promoted numbness fall onto the little fire, and at the same time she pulled up her neckerchief over her nose and mouth so she wouldn't breathe it in. "If that's the case then it needs to be ripped up."

"Can you tell me your name?" She said to the dog and she focused on bringing up her magic to push out the poison, just like last time. It was really difficult this time, however - the last time was produced by magic, wild but predictable, and easy to see - this was furious and deadly and meant to destroy in its very nature, this poison, and it was incredibly fast. She barely made a dent in it, any everything she pushed out at the source of the bite bubbled and hissed and burned at the opening, and Cayenne gritted her teeth together. If this progressed it would go straight to the pup's head, and some of it probably already had.
@Egahi
Shame filled the white female, wishing she were capable of burying herself into the dirt. Instead, she moved away further, hoping to make a believer out of this kind healer. She observed as Cayenne tried to heal the dog and flickered her tongue thoughtfully, before something struck her.

"Mouth the wound," she said suddenly. "My venom is harsh... but... pull it with mouth... and spit it aside. Much... much faster than... magic."

She was unsure how she knew, but it seemed sensible. They needed to get the venom out quickly, even if just looking at the dying dog made her want to chase the motionless creature into the abyss. She started having to stare at something else, because even glimpses made her blood boil. Still, she wanted to help. This is not like me. Imperfection. Imperfection.
@Nova | @Cayenne

Her vision was very much a blur now, only seeing shapes. Could a single bite do this? Never had she heard of such an attack, this was no magic. This was something more, something natural and a raw power. She didn't fight the stranger as they tied something around her leg, using her front paws to rub at her eyes a little. Wait, did she ask my name? Her consideration was else where. The black dog did her best to focus.

Slowly, her ears perked slowly. "Nova . . and you?" It felt strange, not being able to see clearly and even stranger that every attempt to stand resulted in her falling back down. It was like her legs didn't listen to her. What did that snake do? Wait, did they say venom?

@Cayenne
Cayenne thought about the snake's words bitterly given, and she paused. The words made sense, as long as she was cautious and was mindful to spit it out before it would get the chance to do anything to her.

She was silent, then she looked at the pup and noticed the thousand yard stare and the vague and foggy tone she was speaking with, like she was drifting off.

"Nova...My name is Cayenne. Now, Nova, I want you to lie down, because you're going to fall otherwise," She said, gently leading her down safely to the ground under the dark shade of the tree. Once she was settled, she said, "Now, Nova, I want you to breathe in this smoke here, it smells really sweet, and it will help you go to sleep. You need to sleep so that the poison won't spread as fast, okay? So I need you to breathe. Just...breathe, and it'll be okay."

Doubtless fear and panicking adrenaline with the need to live would only make the poison spread faster, and sleep proved to be a powerful aid to her in the past. She took a deep breath and with her sharp gem finger, she cut the area around the bite clean of fur, shorn short to the skin, and she put her lips to the bubbling wound and followed the snake's advice.

It was slow going, but she pulled the poison back to the wound through the bloodstream with the aid of her militant army of magic, and what was brought near the opening she sucked out and spit down to the ground, sneering at the acidic tang in her mouth and the violent ringing in her teeth that screamed ill favor every time it was brought to her tongue. Half if not most of the poison was gone now, hissing on the grass in bubbling pools, but Nova would still feel residual symptoms for a long time afterward.

In between her work, she took a breath and wiped her stinging mouth and said to the snake in a low voice, "Do you do this often enough, then, to know the cure for your weapon? Bite other gems?"

@Egahi
Egahi waited, sneaking a glance at the motion of Cayenne spitting the venom. After a good portion was removed from her hapless victim, the vibrations of the lemur's voice dragged her attention back to the scenario, and with a lot of effort, refrained from looking at Nova.

"I am... my kind. Pointless biting... is a waste. She is... my first misstep. I swear by my gem... I am not usually... this way."

The pale snake ended her words by looking back at the dying, but still glowing flower. If she had the ability to form exaggerated expressions, she'd be glaring at it, but as it was, all she could do was stare with an irritated glint in her black eyes. She could never have imagined herself to waste suck a valuable tool to her life. It was so needless to bite unless absolutely necessary, such as for hunting or self-defense. There was neither when Nova appeared, only...

Useless rage. Imperfection. Imperfect. Useless. She flicked her tongue out toward in, the sweetness fading. To her, however, it had a bitter aftertaste, the rage still swimming in her veins. She rested her head back onto the ground, feeling everything nearby; Cayenne at work, Nova breathing, their differing heartbeats.

"Such magic... so strange, so odd. One moment... I was scenting it. The next... I was looking into it. Something stirred... deep within. This large mammal came. Normally, I would mind my own... slide away if necessary... but there... there was no control, today." Egahi lifted her head up again, standing a little to stare the dying flower down. "Just looking... at this... Nova... fills me with unspeakable... fury. It is... unnatural."
@Nova | @Cayenne

Once commanded, Nova would lay still on the ground. There was no point in trying to get up anyhow, her legs were not obeying her and the world was spinning like a top. It was doubtless to try anything but lay there, so she did. The voices of the two went in and out of her hearing, only catching a few words here and there. Breath in smoke? Such a strange request but soon the smell was put next to her muzzle and it was the only thing the dog would be able to smell.

It was sweet, not to hard to inhale, easy on her lungs. Nova would find that her eyes became heavy, no longer thinking about how everything was a blur. So tired . . . Sleep did call to her now, the way the world spun seem to coax her to sleep. All she could hear was someone telling her it would be ok. But would it?

OOC: words words

@Cayenne
The flower wilts away. Perhaps there is another one somewhere in the caves...

At that, she spat out the remnants of what was in her mouth and looked at the snake.

"If what you say is true..." She said slowly, "Then I'm sorry. You seem honest enough and I might've...been a little hasty in my judgements. The last time I dealt with poison my sister had been bitten over six different times, as did her lover, protecting her. I apologize."

She turned back to Nova, reaching for her magic to push the rest out, not noticing the flower wilting away to nothing. With her back turned, she said to the snake, "It wouldn't be the first time magic made a gem act out of their nature."

With one hand on the pup's fur, she closed her eyes and focused on the gentle rhythm of the do falling into a peaceful slumber, and with the aid of the restin heartbeat, she gathered the rest of the poison with her little army and brought the last remnants, every single last remaining drop, out from the wound.

She set about making a sticky salve to prevent inflammation and infection with her herbs and her tiny glass of honey kept safe in her backpack, and when that was applied to the wound, she put clean and sterile leaves over it to keep it clean and dry. Absently, as she was doing all of this, she asked the snake, "What is your name, if I may ask?"

@Egahi
The young reptile bobbed her head ever so slightly, the vibrations of Cayenne's voice becoming a stronger focus of the snake. She switched her gaze back and forth from Cay and the flower for a moment, then stared at the wilted plant again. Such magic was as poisonous as the venom she carried herself.

"Apologies are... unnecessary. Your judgements had... a basis. If reversed, I too... may question thee," she said matter-of-factly. A feeling of distress started to form as the flower died away, practically disappearing in the blink of an eye - thank goodness for not being a blinker. There was a settling among it, however, as Cayenne spoke of her understanding of magic.

"My calling is... Egahi. Yours is Cayenne... correct?" She flickered her tongue, the movement as natural as a mammal's blink. "You are a healer... can you make... antidotes?" Something like this situation with Nova didn't need to ever occur again. However, if it did, Egahi pondered if there would be a way to deflect her own venom. Perhaps there was a magic out there that could fight it, but she wasn't sure. It was information her gem did not seem to provide.
