Alexi struggled in her chrysalis. Nightmares tore through her mind, and she woke to give a silent scream to the small chrysalis that imprisoned her. Her eyes snapped open, and she peered around herself to make sure she was safe. It was difficult though, and she knew it was time to leave. She had been putting it off for a while now, though she didn't know quite how long. Time was irrelevant to the wolf. She sighed silently and kicked at her chrysalis.
A small crack opened it up a bit, and the thick liquid that had encased her this far in life spilled out. Kicking out at the crack, it widened a bit. Getting tired of the games, Alexi shover her body forward and her chrysalis fell over and shattered. She was free.
Shaking her pelt, Alexi frowned. What would she do now?
Alexi drew pictures on the ground, bored as she could be. That is, until a strange little monkey showed up.
"Hi. Thanks, I guess. I'm... I'm uh.... I'm Alexi." The wolf Gemling answered, Her head still down. She felt really sad, for no reason at all. And the monkey made her nervous too. What if he didn't like her? What if he hated her?!

OOC: Hello yes sorry for taking so long omg college classes are killing me LOL.
Oh, so the wolf pup could understand language. Well, she picked it up fast! Tuck was actually kind of impressed. He tried to think back and remember if he’d spoken so quickly at his own hatching, but all he could remember of that day was feeling very annoyed at something. Had Kin-Kin been there that day? His eyebrows scrunched in concentration, but nothing came to him, so he gave up reminiscing. He didn’t want to ignore the pup.
“I’m Tuck,” the marmoset replied. It had been so long since he’d used his full name that he never introduced himself as Tukluk anymore. He couldn’t think of a single Gembound who called him that. After this short introduction, he stood awkwardly, trying to think of something else to say. Was this the first time he was meeting a freshly-hatched Gembound? “Uhh…” he paused, wracking his brain for something to talk about. “I… like your… Stone.” He gestured towards the moonstone gem embedded into the pup’s forehead. “Oh, but… you can’t see it. Right. It’s pearly white, looks like…” He squinted. “An eye? Or something? It’s on your forehead.”
@Alexi
Alexi smiled. The marmoset seemed really nice, which was good. She didn't think she could handle a mean Gembound right after hatching. That'd just ruin her day. She had someone nice though, which was good. She'd return the kindness.
"I like your name Tuck. And your stone too, haha." She laughed, admiring the green and red stone on his chest. Though she could only see a tiny bit of it peeing through his fur. It was nice, talking to someone. Made the world seem not so lonely.

OOC: Don't worry! I understand! ^^
Alexi smiled at the flower. It was pretty, but what could she do? Taking Tuck's advice, she concentrated on drawing power from her stone. It worked! The wolf felt her mouth grow hot, uncomfortably so, so she opened it and breathed out. It helped a little.
The wolf stopped her spell, trying to get rid of the burning feeling in her mouth. It hurt. Did all of her magic hurt? She hoped not.
@Tukluk
Alexi was disappointed. It seemed she didn't do the thing right, which upset her. She knew she couldn't do anything else, and that made her even more upset.
"Oh. Maybe I can't do fire magick. Maybe I can't do any real magick." The wolf replied solemnly. She hung her huge triangle shaped head and shook it softly.
"Sorry if I'm a downer."
@Tukluk
Tuck suddenly felt really bad for the pup, a feeling that didn’t happen often for him.
”No, no,” he said quickly, putting his paws out in front of him and shaking them.
“You… I’m sure you did something important! Uh… a lot of beginner spells aren’t that great, from what I know of other Gemlings I’ve met. You — you just need practice, probably!” He gave a weird nervous laugh and looked around, trying to dissipate the strange feeling in his chest. Why did he feel so strangely responsible for this wolf? He wasn’t her father. Gembound didn’t have fathers (Tuck was not aware that one could Give Life to a stone, thereby becoming a parent to the Neonate one created). All Gembound in the Cave were parent-less. So why did he feel this overwhelming need to take the wolf in and teach her about life? He sighed, rubbing his head in confusion.
