First came the pressure. The undeniable pressure that something was tightening and tightening around her. Till her chest lacked breath and her limbs were cramped up and shaking. Then came the cracks. Running like gossamer veins across the fiery topaz. They grew in sections, spidery and expanding ever so readily. Until somehow the rock couldn’t take any longer, marked by the beatings of her heart. It was a strange noise ripped from her throat, a mix of swearwords and saliva as she tumbled into the plush fronds. Her eye opened, the world blurred for a second, swatches of green blended together to create the landscape. She blinked, again and again, hoof against her eye. Everything caught fire with an inexplicable vibrance. It was alive, all around her alive. And as her heart beat in her chest...she was alive too. But if you think Peggy is one to be all happy and amazed at emerging. Think again. A scowl was on her face, before we could even start narrating the beauty of the scenery. Look at this...it’s...it’s GREEN. SHE HATED GREEN! She’d never seen green before, she just knew she HATED it. And this. What was this? Oh, that’s her hoof. OH WELL SHE HATED IT TOO! Oh well...not so happy birthday?
