First came the pressure. The undeniable pressure that something was tightening and tightening around her. Till her chest lacked breath and her limbs were cramped up and shaking. Then came the cracks. Running like gossamer veins across the fiery topaz. They grew in sections, spidery and expanding ever so readily. Until somehow the rock couldn’t take any longer, marked by the beatings of her heart. It was a strange noise ripped from her throat, a mix of swearwords and saliva as she tumbled into the plush fronds. Her eye opened, the world blurred for a second, swatches of green blended together to create the landscape. She blinked, again and again, hoof against her eye.

Everything caught fire with an inexplicable vibrance. It was alive, all around her alive. And as her heart beat in her chest...she was alive too.

But if you think Peggy is one to be all happy and amazed at emerging. Think again. A scowl was on her face, before we could even start narrating the beauty of the scenery. Look at this...it’s...it’s GREEN. SHE HATED GREEN! She’d never seen green before, she just knew she HATED it. And this. What was this? Oh, that’s her hoof. OH WELL SHE HATED IT TOO!

Oh well...not so happy birthday?

Well, Tuck seemed to be stumbling upon Gemlings every day. That was a vast overstatement, as this sheep was only his second one in a few days, but it was odd that he was the one who kept finding them, especially since the other had been in Polaris. He’d heard the shattering chrysalis and come hopping along, and now he was looking at a… fuzzy… thing. What was it? He’d never seen a sheep before so he didn’t know what kind of Gembound the child was. He scrambled down the tree he’d been hanging onto and landed on the ground, calling out a, “Hey there!”

If anything, the lights coming back on seemed to have made Tuck a lot less grumpy, though that could very well change at any moment…

Hey there! It grew louder over the sounds of movement. Her bright eye searched the trees, the shrubbery, yet it all seemed hazy. Peggy felt woozy. Yet once she focused on the...strange creature. Let’s call it...the tree hugger. Yes, let us simplify things for ourselves. The sheep wiggled her snout, brows creasing. This felt like being woken up by a morning person. She couldn’t help but picture the perfect image of SLAMMING HER HOOF INTO ITS FACE.

Her nose twitched. Yet she remained mostly composed. Looking around, she stopped to address the tree hugger. “Wha' galleon be this?” That voice spilled from her mouth, rough around the edges, like sandpaper. Not quite so pleasing to the ear, is it? Yet she couldn’t even see if this guy HAD ears. Oh wait! There they are. My they’re tiny. How do you hear with those things? “Can ye hear anythin'?” Her thoughts pushed past her lips, an incredulous look on her face. She wasn’t gonna be winning any blue ribbons anytime soon.

And here, right here, was where his relatively nice demeanor broke down into his usual jerky one. This fluffy thing was shouting at him, and he kind of winced at the noise — not out of fear, but annoyance at the level of volume. “What the hell’s a galleon?” he shouted back immediately, followed by, “And yes I can hear! Why wouldn’t I be able to hear? Stop shouting at me!” He sat back and stared up at the sheep defiantly, glaring at them with burnt orange eyes. His tapped his claws in irritation. Gods, why was this fresh new face so annoying already? It was like they’d been born with a grudge, but what could a Gemling possibly have a grudge against? Being born?

Well… Tuck paused. He hoped that wasn’t the case, otherwise that would just be the most depressing thing ever.

It was the first, yet not last, time someone would poke around about her diction. And it was quickly a sore spot for the woolly being. Made her feel like an immature child, which, truly...she was. Yet with her immense pride swelling in her chest, how could she admit to it?

Reddish-pink gaze burned into the stranger, her lips smacking together softly in irritation. “I mean, where be this?” She grumbled, which seemingly juxtaposed her adorable sheep exterior. “A galleon be a galleon. A galleon be where.” There was simply no other way to put it!
If he didn’t understand, then he was STUPID.

Of course, she hadn’t forgotten his other address. “Yer ears are too wee, that's why!” His shouting only made her want to shout back. Peggy turned away from the creature, and sat her butt firmly. She wasn’t going to talk to him, no siree! He was getting the ICE COLD sheep treatment.

Somehow Tuck was now annoyed and amused at the same time. She hadn’t annoyed him so much that he wanted to leave, but he was still in a shouting mood. So… a galleon was… a place. So she’d asked where she was. “We’re in Eridanus!” he shouted, even as she turned her back to him. “It’s the best room in the whole of Origin Cave! It’s got trees and moss and shrubs and a lot of tree sap to eat and fruit and insects and stuff if you don’t like tree sap!” His lip stuck out. “And anyways, just cos my ears are small doesn’t mean I can’t hear. Not everyone has giant ears like you!” Her ears were not giant, he just hoped he had insulted her a little bit. My, this was a strange conversation…

@Peggy -- sorry this took so long, I suck.

OOC: No problem <3 I’m starting the semester at uni so I’m also a little scarce so don’t worry about it!

Ears lifted, perking at the sound of his loud obnoxious voice. Her blunt teeth grind, the noise bouncing within her skull in an almost sickening way. Eridanus? It had no meaning to her. But she filed it away in the back of her mind. After all, a good pirate can’t ever get lost. To abandon your ship is to abandon your sanity.

And boy was she gonna need some good spare sanity to deal with these IMBECILES!

Peggy wondered what the Origin Cave was, but refrained from talking to that awful WEENIE. Instead, she simply sent a quizzical look over her shoulder, adjusting her seating and letting out a prideful huff, careful not to slouch. Surely, she was smart enough to figure out Eridanus was within the Origin Cave, she just didn’t know what this big mystical cave was. Well...they better have soft serve ice cream. Either to eat, or dump in the weird creature’s face. At least he’d get a glow up.

Brows pull together as she mulls over the thought of eating tree sap. She’d never tried it. But if he liked it, she most likely LOATHED it. And then he decided to make a comment on her ears. So does the twig snap. Peggy whirled around, seething. Her nose twitched, her gem fang bared. “ME EARS ARE NAH GIANT YE DUCK-KNEE’D DUNG MUNCHIN’ CRAP SACK !”

Tuck literally fell over backwards when the sheep turned around and yelled at him. His burnt-orange eyes widened in surprise more than anything, but there was a thrill of fear there, too. Adrenaline coursed through his veins, and he halfway reached out for the Magic in his stone before realizing that the fluffy weird Gembound wasn’t actually attacking him. His chest heaved up and down as he took frightened breaths. He had no idea what she’d just said, though he knew enough to understand that there had been a couple insults in there somewhere. “Okay, okay, calm down!” he yelled, though now he was yelling because he was nervous. “Can we please stop yelling at each other?! Truce!”

AHA! THE MIGHTY POWER OF HER ROAR! That poor fool had fallen backwards on his most likely very smelly rump. Had she not been so full of fiery rage, perhaps there would’ve been some pride licking at her heart. After all, it was the first time the baby sheep had managed to scare something. And boy, had she scared him (even if the tiny woolen thing wasn’t exactly perilous, what was she gonna do? Yell him to death?). The sheep snorted as the other creature began to yell, his voice strained with a certain feeling of nervousness. Peggy blinked, body still swaying in anger. She didn’t know exactly what a truce was. One corner of her lip pulled up in a HUH? expression. “Was that supposed t' be an apology?”
