Asimona heard the distant thud of the goose as she hit the ground and attempted again to shake the blood out of her eye. But it was burning; some must have got in anyways. She couldn't open her eye. She felt something hit her leg, spiky and with a good amount of force. Her feet lost its grip on the ground and she kneeled forward, quills sticking out of the skin on her leg. She growled, opening her claw to bring it down on the goose.
However, so concerned she was with the bird, she had completely forgotten about the moose. She saw him coming in the corner of her eye, but she payed it no heed. By the time she realized that she was in danger, it was too late to react. His antlers stabbed into her skin, the thickest part, all the way through to the blood vessels underneath. She gasped with surprise. Nothing had ever gotten through the skin on her chest. No cold or ice or stone or claw.
There was something else, something that tingled and burned in her blood. She looked down with her one open eye and her heart dropped. There was something on the moose's antlers, something with color. "What have you done?!" she gasped.
She couldn't stay here. Fear was rising in her chest. She didn't know what kind of poison the moose had stabbed into her chest, but it was not good. Anymore fighting and she could be endangering her life. A realization that brought her grim surprise. She had underestimated the pair. And now she was paying for it. She opened her wings to try and fly away, but a sudden wave of weakness washed over her and she collapsed in front of them, glaring with anger and fear.
