Envy didn't struggle as they were picked up and carried, even though their skin flushed hot with embarrassment. They wove their paws into her fur as she moved the short distance, the swaying motion comforting as a lullaby. As they were put down at the base of the wall, the weasel hesitated for a moment, turning back to look at their mamma.
They looked torn, longing, it seemed as though they really didn't want to leave. But the little weasel soon turned away with a hasty twitch of their neck. They scrambled up the smooth-worn stones and disappeared into the familiar inch-wide gap between them. With a swish of their tail, the weasel disappeared into the dark. A few moments later, the glint of their eyes was visible in the entrance of the hole.
