The cockatiel had decided to stay in Orion for a bit longer. At the moment, they were stargazing, sitting on the very top of the tower and watching the "stars" that adorned the ceiling. They had been like this for a couple hours now, but the need to move was getting to them. With a stretch and a yawn, they took off, gliding downwards in lazy circles to make landing easier.
@Pippy
Oh, this is all so exciting!
Pippy was travelling around outside safely and with ease now! When he got back to Orion Pippy wasted no time in practising his skills in flying his anxiousness on getting attacked weaker than usual with Vinnie telling him how it'll be much safer to fly around than trekking on land. Using his newfound skills to at last reach new higher places in Orion the tiny bat has been wanting to check out but was too scared too or was too high and dangerous for him to reach on land. Pippy has always wanted to get closer to his home's 'stars' above him in Orion; he always wanted to get close to maybe even touch them if he can.
It'd all be so exciting!
And so despite how intimidating its height is when he cranes his neck up Pippy from his determination wants to fly up this tall tower, discover what can be up to its peak and bring him even closer to those stars. Challenging maybe, but it could be so fun to try out!
Dashing he flapped her wings quickly like he was attempting to sprint and soon Pippy was off; away he goes! Launching away he tilts his flight limbs up a little during a pause in flapping, and he was climbing upward. Air is getting colder as Pippy got higher and higher, making him flap his wings more, as the tiny bat recalls how Vinnie told him about on how cold air won't lift him at all and so constant flapping is a foundation to remain flying and not plummeting. He occasionally lands himself on quartz crystals which are plagued around this tall tower to have a brief rest when tiredness kicks in, thankfully he is small, so even teensy quartz was adequate for resting.
He's so close to those stars now! It was so exciting; he was finally gonna be able to touch these 'stars' with his wings maybe even take one to give as a gift to another Gembound! His giddiness made him accelerate and a triumphant feeling when he finally reached this tower's peak.
Oooo he did it! These stars are so pretty this close! He managed to land on this tower's ground safely as he stargazed himself at them, so much clearer than usual from how close. So pretty, it made Pippy have stars in his eyes from how beautiful they are.
During his stargazing he soon detected something else flying around and above him, which got him a bit uncomfortable, doesn't appear massive which was a nice change but he isn't sure whether he wants whoever it is to discover him, they might not be nice.
Perhaps he should leave and return later...? He can fly up this tower fine now; he might be able to do it again.
@Heart-Song
A small jolt of excitement ran through the young Gembound as she noticed the small bat flying around near the stars. All intentions of landing to search for something interesting fell from their mind as they flapped their wings to fly back to their original perch and talk to the little bat. "Hi!" they greeted as they perched next to him. "I've never seen anybody like you before! Who are you?" Although the cockatiel was certainly much smaller than most creatures the bat had encountered, they were still not as small as him, being a full five inches taller when sitting alongside him. Whether this would scare him remained to be seen.
@Pippy
Pippy was tempted to quietly move away on land and fly away when she is sure she is out their sight enough not to be able to detect her when she flies off. Carefully moving away like a tip-toeing mouse not aware how this Gembound is aware of her presence. Pippy didn't get far for her ears registered a sound like something clicking on solid ground or a small thud, along with a subtle vibration beneath Pippy's wings which made her freeze up, dread creeping in.
Letting out a small gasp and abruptly turning her head around when a new voice came, a Gembound who was flying around only a few seconds ago was now right next to her which made her so nervous especially now it shows how big they indeed are. They are still not quite big, but they were towering over her which was enough along with getting startled to make Pippy scared and stare at this newcomer with an uneasy deer-in-headlights expression, still frozen up with her ears drooped.
H-How did they manage to get so close without her noticing? She only noticed them when they landed right next to her... How they managed to do it and startle her made her so nervous... Please be nice...
"O-Oh... H-Hi... D-Don't mind me... I-I'm P-Pippy..." she tried to control her breathing as she meekly answered, the tiny bat hasn't fleed yet, for she hopes answering their question would satisfy them if they aren't compassionate. She's clinging to her hope how they are potentially kind and possibly only want to befriend her which is why she hasn't left yet.
@Heart-Song
The Gembound looked down at the tiny bat. "Did I scare you? I'm sorry if I scared you but you're the second creature I've met and I wanna be your friend!" They ended their statement on a happy note, getting caught up in their own enthusiasm.
Secretly, however, they were ecstatic at just how
tiny the bat was. She couldn't have been bigger than their talon, and alongside their tiny little face, they just wanted to wrap the bat up in one of their wings and cuddle it until they were too tired to cuddle it more.
But that would just scare the bat, so they didn't let out an ear-ringing chirp and cuddle it.
Yet.
@Pippy
Pippy didn't budge when this Gembound appeared to study her, making sure everything she does will placate them if their intentions are malicious, still as a statue with her expression unchanging now it was more like with how her pose is now she appeared like a child who was caught having their hands in a forbidden cookie jar.
"H-Heh... M-Maybe a little..." she answered them with a sheepish smile, she got more than a little scared by them; but scared or not she doesn't want them to feel bad even their intentions here are still unknown to Pippy.
"O-Oh! It's okay no need to be sorry..." she approached them a bit more to show perhaps it's OK all is fine.
"Huh...? You want to be friends with me? R-Really?" her smile brightened up a little more as she asked them with such hope. She is much more comfortable now, as they do seem nice; like she hoped they would be. Pippy got so touched how this newcomer here wanted to befriend her within seconds of encountering her, which helps her relax more.
If this Gembound mentioned to her about how excited they are to meet one as small as Pippy she'd probably get so flustered and embarrassed for she does not do well with compliments like those at times, Pippy never has an idea how to respond to compliments.
Still, Pippy is much more relaxed now as she got even closer to them, despite some slight nervousness more from shyness around a stranger, previous fear is non-existent now.
@Heart-Song
"Yeah! Friends are awesome, I want to make as many friends as I can!" the enthusiastic cockatiel replied, flapping their wings in excitement. Their excitement over how
small the bat was continued to grow as the bat scooted closer. They barely- only barely- resisted a loud chirp, but managed to keep calm. After all, if they were too loud, they would scare the bat. And if they scared the bat, making friends with it would be harder. So, they struggled against their nature, trying to keep a calm face. They succeeded.
Mostly.
They might be vibrating slightly.
An idea came to the young Gembound. "Hey, can you do magic?"
@Pippy
"Yeah... Friends are great to have," she had to agree, they are wonderful to have, friends, make things worthwhile. Friends make things such as braving her fears, going into this scary, big outside world worth it. Pippy will always be grateful for hers and even friendly acquaintances without them she'd be Gembound who is perpetually hiding in a tiny hole with nothing but suffocating fear forever and wouldn't dare venture out for even water.
Pippy, however, was getting a little concerned for them, for she noticed how they were shaking, it was not quite like when she trembles in fear at least. There's something different about their shaking, but it got Pippy worried as she got a little closer again, reaching out to them with her wings, although she kept her wings a few centimetres away. Her reluctance to hold or touch this Gembound is not because she is scared, she only does not wish to be acting rude and disrespectful now as Pippy is unaware if they possibly dislike getting touched; even if it's from concern. Still...
"H-Hey, are you OK? Are you sick, cold or hurt there? Do you need anything...?" best ask permission first and to learn if they are OK although she worries her questions may seem weird since she didn't mention it is because they are shaking like so.
"A-Ah-! Y-Yeah, I-I can! O-Only a little Magick!" now she considers it she hasn't practised her Magick much lately the tiny bat should probably do so sometime if Pippy has the determination to try flying, the little bat can travel by air with ease now, and she should extend this dedication with her Magick too.
@Heart-Song
"O-oh. Yyyeah, I'm fine!" they said, hoping that she wouldn't see through the lie and be offended. "Just kinda excited." Because you're adorable went unsaid. Hesitantly, since the bat appeared to be getting used to them and wasn't so likely to run, they reached a wing out to her as well.
"Neat! I can make a humming sound, but Envy- the first creature I ever met- said I'd get better and do more spells with practice. Hold on, lemme show you." The cockatiel reached for their magic, drawing it out. It slipped from their mental grip, leaving a buzz in their beak but not much else.
"Hold on- I'm not as good at magic as some others are..."
The young Gembound reached for their magic yet again. They went slower and more carefully now in light of their recent failure, coaxing the magic out of where it was located and pulling it out into the real world, just like Envy taught them. They smiled trimphantly, wagging their tail feathers when a buzzing noise filled the air, most likely annoying the bat. "See! It's so neat! I can't wait to do more with it!"
They turned their head to look at the bat. "Hey, can you show me your magic? I'm sure it'll be really cool too!"
