Sniff...sniff...sniff.
Really, Jayberry didn't know what she was looking for. Something interesting, yes, and something unique as well. Something that the hybrid would see as a good trade for the skull. But what?
She'd seen some things, sure, but nothing that seemed worth the skull. Scraps of hard rock, pieces of broken metal. But nothing that really caught her eye. For a moment, something glistened, but she quickly dismissed it as worthless.
The she-wolf continued to plod down the tunnel, head high and ears sharp. Her wet nose twitched, and she looked around. This tunnel was supposed to be full of interesting things, so why wasn't there any? There were many things, don't get her wrong, but nothing that seemed of equal value
For a moment, something caught her eye.
The wolf turned, and trotted over to a pile of metal, lowering her head and using a paw to rifle through them. The loud clattering noise some of the metal made as it hit the ground made her flinch, but she was quick to dismiss it, deciding that nothing in the heap was of worth.
Only moments after she had gone through the heap of metal, something else caught her eye. Raising her head, the she-wolf headed over to what she had noticed.
It would be easily missed. Dirt covered something shiny, but a few nudges of her nose revealed a gem of some sort. Carefully, she dug and dug, until finally unearthing a blade of some sort. The metal was somewhat dusty, but seemed rather well made, and when she nudged it with her nose, it cut into her flesh. She whined, and pulled her head back, before carefully taking it in her mouth.
However, she didn't much want to give this object to the Hybrid, and so she continued on her search.
Carefully holding the dagger in her mouth, the yearling trotted down the tunnel. She hoped that she would find something else, as she was rather fond of the metal.
There were more piles of metal, scraps and such, but nothing that she deemed worthy of trading for the skull. So she kept on her search, determined to find something.
Jayberry seemed to have gone rather deep into the Tunnel. There were no more piles of scrap metal, nothing shiny or glinting to gather her attention. So she continued to trot, neck beginning to hurt from the odd angle she was holding her head at to keep the dagger off the ground.
Continuing down the tunnel, Jayberry huffed in frustration. There was nothing! Nothing to see, nothing to look at, nothing to take! Should she double back? Perhaps she had missed something. However, she decided to keep going for a little while longer.
Oh, for the Cave's sake.
No matter how far she looked, the she-wolf found nothing. And so, frustrated and wanting nothing more than to take out her frustration, the wolf turned about, and began to walk back the way she came.
Scowling, the black she-wolf trotted back the way she came, looking around the tunnel in an attempt to find something to give to the hybrid. She refused to give it her blade-thing, absolutely refused.
Thankfully, it seemed she was heading in the correct direction. While she didn't find anything yet, she began to catch the glints of metal in the corners of her eyes. Any attempts to stop and find something, however, proved that they were not worth picking up.
