Scorch turned his head toward the direction Reign was nodding in, and his beak immediately dropped open in awe.
"Ohmygosh," he exclaimed,
"It's so tall! Like, it's HUGE! And it's glowing! Blue! Yeah, let's go see it! It'll be super fun!" He took a few steps so he could walk beside Reign, practically bouncing with excitement.

As the two quietly spoke, something moved ahead in the faint light of the Spire: something smallish, and slender. If they looked closely, they'd see its long-legged silhouette briefly move across the Spire's light: trotting, but oddly, disjointedly.
If they missed the sight, they might hear the sound: a quiet clatter of some sort of hard feet on stone as it raced around to hide behind the Spire's protective size... or possibly to hunt the Gembound coming to see the great stone.

As he followed Reign toward the Spire, Scorch's eyes caught a movement near it, but dismissed it as just another Gembound. Perhaps it also exploring the glowing tower, he thought, and focused on Reign's words. He hadn't heard him use the word
thou before, but he thought 'wilst' sounded like 'will'. So, 'will ... be able to walk such a long distance?' Given that he was the only one around Reign, Scorch assumed the cheetah was asking him. He paused and looked down at his talons, opening and closing one experimentally.
"I think I can!" he decided.
"And we can always take breaks and stuff if we need to, right?"
@Reign
So Reign had seen the other one too!
"I did! Maybe it's another Gembound, exploring that tower. Hey, maybe we can explore together? If they're already there, they can be our tour guide or something? Or would you rather go on our own?" Scorch barely resisted hooting loudly to call the long-legged one over. He'd see what Reign wanted first. If Reign wanted to explore without a tour guide, he was fine with that too.

A tiny face peered out from behind the Spire, blinking large eyes at the sound of voices.
It was, by all appearances, a very young fawn--far too young to be too far from other cave deer, and very, very tiny in size. From the way it moved, though its body was still hidden behind the glowing blue rock, it might have been injured.
Easy prey... or a helpless creature in need of aid?
@Scorch @Reign
Scorch gasped in horror, his eyes widening to a near-impossible point.
"Injured? Oh no! I hope they're okay! Reign, Reign, what do we do?" He shifted, agitated, from one talon to another, then quickly stopped himself and held perfectly still for fear of scaring the cute little fawn. That lasted about five seconds before he moved again, pressing against Reign's side. Scorch thought himself very lucky that the cheetah cub had found him. What if he'd tripped on something and hurt himself, or what if he fell into that big river some distance away? Being with someone else just made everything safer. Plus, friendship and cuddles. Those were the best thing ever.

The fawn darted back for a moment, hiding out of sight. It didn't seem to understand language.
After a moment, however, it hesitantly poked its head out again, nostrils flaring as it took the strangers' scents, oversized ears rotated toward the two. It had white spots, the same way the cheetah cub had black, and it seemed very nervous indeed.
A single step out toward them, with hesitant movement, showed that it was indeed limping heavily.
