Aran had yet to break free, to finally be open to something he had never seen before. Of course, he had never seen yet, or been outside of the casing around him. It had been sitting there for quite a long time, really. Waiting. Preparing for the time when the young Barasingha would be able to break through and finally show himself to the outside.
Now, was that time.
The young deer creature broke through the encasing that had been around him for some time. He had never seen something like this before. The area covered in glowing shapes that caught his dark brown eyes. It really was beautiful, and an amazing place to see for the first time since breaking free. it was strange, but at the same time, not. New sensations filtered through his mind. Sight, touch, hearing, taste, smell. All of the senses. It was so, horribly new.
The Fledgeling stretched out his legs as he moved them to stand up, his ears wriggling around in the process.
@Hecate
Aran had not expected someone to speak to him so soon. He was just barely out and moving when a soft voice caught his small ears. His breathing was also a soft sound, vibrating off of the walls of the cave if one was so quiet to listen to it. Of course, the bird must have found her way to him through hearing.
He moved to turn his body in the direction of the sound, spotting a winged creature. Antlers? Like his own?
"Hello." He replied. Newly hatched? Is that what he was? Must be, considering the creature with wings and antlers had asked if he was one.
"What is a newly-hatched?" The deer replied.
Everything was so new. Different.
strange. He didn't understand. Though the cave he was in, it was nice to look at. Easy on the eyes and very pretty. It felt weird to stand on his legs. Weird to be able to see things, hear things. It disoriented the young creature.
@Hecate
Of course one could find his light, child voice to be that of beautiful. It spewed off innocence, something someone as young as he did have. He wasn't old enough to know any different, not old enough to know the dangers of the universe or the things in it.
He briefely brushed against her feathers, they were so incredibly soft. Unlike nothing he'd ever touched before (though that would be because he'd
never touched anything much before, yet). Though he could not see much of the feathered creature, he could make out some of her features. Like the large green eyes for example. They really did see through his soul.
He was surprised at the magic that came out of what seemed like nowhere, but his body didn't react, as if it was something normal for this place. He wanted to see
more of that.
So he was a child, that just came from his gemstone. The terms were still confusing, but he sort of understood what the bird creature meant. He was going to be a big gembound one day? Oh! How he wished to be taller and not puny. It was a good thought, but he still had time before he would grow to be any large of a creature.
"A." He paused, thinking a moment.
"Aran. Is my name."
He eyed at the bird, easier to see now from the light that she had summoned, it was a beautiful thing, really.
@Hecate
Aran watched the winged creature. He now knew her name to be Hecate. The clicking sounds she was making caught his attention, but he didn't know what to say about it. The sounds were almost soothing to his small ears and he didn't mind it. Not a bit.
The silence that quickly followed was unnerving, though. He wasn't sure he liked that very much. Of course, he complimented the silence of the place before, but, now that he had company with him it was bothersome. He didn't know what to say to spur up any conversation, however. So, he simply waited. Aran didn't have much to talk about, himself anyway. Especially considering he just came out of the chrysalis that enveloped him not long ago.
Then Hecate started speaking again. Going on about how he was lucky and something about beauty. It was clear that she saw herself as beautiful, and Aran was not going to deny the strange beauty of the winged creature.
"The lights above the crystals..." He repeated and looked around. Maybe? Was that what he saw before? On top of everything, giving off some sort of light?
"Maybe? I don't understand." he said with a wiggle of his ears.
@Hecate
He looked above their heads, back to the beautiful crystals that he had seen when he first came out of the chrysalis. Hecate meant those? They were quite beautiful, yes!
"They are beautiful." He agreed.
Aran didn't really understand what Hecate's point was to this entire conversation. What was with her obsession with beauty? He didn't understand. Well. He understood what beauty was, but he didn't understand why she was so obsessed with it.
"There must be lots of places in here." He replied to her describing things at him.
One of his thin legs tapped at the ground with his hoof. He still didn't understand.
"Why are you describing things to me?" He asked.
