FINALLY the fuzzball relented. Madhukar heaved a sigh of relief.

But something about the attack, about the complete and obstinate DENIAL of her PERSONAL SPACE, about the BLATANT IGNORING OF HER WORDS!!! She'd thrown her language through the blender and spit it back out just to beg for the idiot to back off. WHY HAD IT TAKEN SO MUCH EFFORT?!

Very quickly, all relief evaporated into thin air. Reduced to atoms. Madhukar felt aggressive today; she'd been feeling far more aggressive recently, for whatever reason. Maybe it was the energy coursing through the air in this room, or maybe it was the fact that she'd destroyed herself over this, this LACK. Her powers had ruled her for far, FAR too long. But they didn't have to anymore. 'Your potential is your own.' DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH POTENTIAL WAS STORED IN THIS KITTEN?! SO MUCH! And it was hers, ALL HERS, she wasn't a scared kitten out of control anymore!

When someone attempted to dominate and invade her space relentlessly, she could DO something about it!

The realization hit her quick, and with the same lightning speed, Madhukar managed to sputter out a challenge. "WAI'! WHITE ONE!" she called after the retreating fiend. "FIGH' ME!"

A magic duel. She'd been craving one for a while now.

Comet had hoped that leaving the cat alone would calm them down, but that did not seem to be the case. She was focusing on her own things when she heard the cat calling after her. The cat looked furious, ready-to-explode furious. She wondered what she had done to make the cat that angry. Perhaps she really did have a good reason after all to be nervous. And now, they wanted to fight.
Normally, Comet was not the kind to fight others, but the cat looked like they really wanted one. And she was not going to disappoint her. "Bring it on!" she waited for them to make the first move.

And find something he did. There was a stone bathed in pale green, almost like his own gem but not the same. Aran wondered what kind of gembound it could have belonged to before it died. He picked it up and placed it inside of his bag that was hanging off of an antler.

And then looked to the two idiots picking a fight. The deer didn't really understand creatures like that. At all. Though maybe he was a hypocrite, seeing as he was the one that failed to kill that mouse from before.

Madhukar was pleased to see that she hadn't coaxed all to bold idiocy out of the fuzzball. Was she going to fight a child younger than she? ...Yes. Kalama had done it! Baby punching wasn't all that bad, was it? As long as she didn't electrocute the fluffy to chrysalization. And she wouldn't! She just wanted to teach this kid that you had to respect others boundaries. A few scars could be a good memento of lessons learned.

Madhukar smirked as she moved forward, but only enough of a distance for an electroball to be in range (it was a decently ranged spell). She spread her legs in a balanced stance, pinned her ears, fluffed out her fur, narrowed her eyes, and opened her mouth to allow for an attempt at launching an electroball right at the fluffy's chest.

Comet knew there was no going back now, she had taken up the challenge. Just now, she realized what a huge disadvantage she had against the cat. First, the cat seemed to be at least two cycles old, and she was less than a cycle. Second, the cat was powerful. From the previous practice, she had learned that the cat succeeded in almost all their spells, even some of the harder ones. That meant she would have to do some more physical things if she wanted to have a chance of succeeding.

The wolf folded back her ears and bristled her fur, lowering herself down into a defensive stance. That was when the electroball started flying towards her chest. She gathered her legs, and sprung in the air to try and dodge the attack.

THE FLUFFY MOVED!!! SHOOT!! The electroball went flying forward, whereas the fluffy jumped over it! FINE! Madhukar wondered if she could give it something it couldn't dodge.

Memories from her Transcendence flashed in her mind. She hadn't retried that spell again, it felt powerful. And new. She hesitated for a moment; it had been enough to kill those spiders. But it seemed like the less focused it was, the less of an impact it made. She felt weaker, anyways, so maybe this would be a safer time to try... if she failed, that was her own fault, wasn't it?

Madhukar focused on several points surrounding the fluffy, and also on the fluffy itself. 'See if you can dodge this!'

Comet felt a thrill of victory as she successfully dodged the electroball. But she didn't like the look on their face. Before she knew it, she saw a almost web like lightning that that rushed towards her. There was no way to dodge this, and it was too fast. Before she knew it, the shock hit her and was everywhere. It was like nothing she had ever felt before, and it HURT. Why did she have to mess with the cat in the first place anyway? She was starting to regret it. Her nose caught the scent of burnt fur, and there was a sharp pain on her back in the shape of the lightning that had struck her.

But now, the cat was asking for it. Comet stumbled onto her feet, she was not giving up now. And she hoped that her attack would hit. She opened her mouth to release the jet of water that was aimed straight for the cat's face.

Madhukar's eyes went wide as the lightning came out -- she hadn't even expected that -- with a strength she hadn't predicted. She grit her teeth. Oh, how her temper was coming to bite her in the tail. She wanted to shout something, but she doubted it would matter in that moment. Within a flash, it was all gone, into the substrate, leaving the fluffy plastered with burns and scars. Madhukar grimaced.

She didn't even try to duck out of the water's way. It splashed her eyes with a pressure and her eyelids snapped shut a little too late. Her eyes stung, her face hurt, and she'd been pushed back, almost unbalanced. 'Yeah I deserved that.' It was kind of terrifying actually, in this moment. So much so that just thinking about it made it feel like her blood was running cold.

'What I could've done...'

But she'd asked for this. And this poor idiot hadn't known what lightning could do. 'Now it knows,' Madhukar's thoughts taunted. For a moment there, she didn't want to move closer, just take the pain and be done with it. But how anticlimactic would that be?

She felt her lesson had been taught, she ought to give the fluffy a fair rest of the fight. Madhukar blinked and stared at back at the now-blurry shape of the fluffy, eyes red, face sore. The cat's expression held an apology, but that apology remains unsaid. She decided that she ought to use sound as her next weapon; a big one could be disorienting, painful, but not deadly.

Comet watched as the fountain hit the cat straight in the face. But it seemed like they weren't trying. What was wrong with them? She had much more fight in her yet! The pain from her wounds were bad, and she was sure that they would remain as scars. Comet could tell the cat's expression was perhaps apologetic, but she couldn't be sure. Plus, it may be fake.

She readied herself their next attack. Hopefully this time it wouldn't be as painful. Luckily, it seemed that the cat was weakening or something because they made a loud thunder clap. The sound hurt her sensitive ears, and she heard a ringing sound. Good thing they were folded back so as not to take in the full force of the sound.

It looked like their eyes and face had started swelling up due to the force of the water, which meant their vision would be blurry. Good. She was sure that if she got up closer to the cat she would be able to do much more damage than with water. He teeth were sharp, and made for fighting. She would have to find a way to slow them down, so that meant trying to bite their leg.

The fluffy came running at her. All she did was watch, stunned for a moment, confused as to what was happening; it was hard to tell when everything just looked like really fuzzy shapes drifting in gray-ish haze. She'd expected some kind of impact, but none came, and soon she was staring down at what was probably the head of the fluffy coming at her paw. What could she do to keep this foolish thing from an untimely death?

Madhukar was torn. Was it still fighting back because of the duel or because of anger? Madhukar could understand one, and be decently bewildered at the other. The distinction mattered because, well, Madhukar understood what it felt like to get beat up by lightning! SHE'D DONE IT TO HERSELF!!! And if she could've popped a knuckle sandwich to her own magic, she would've done so a long, long time ago. She'd gone too far! That day, a cycle ago, her own magic had gone too far! And they all should suffer the price for it!

But hadn't the fluffy gone too far? Yes but not to the point where they deserved BURNS AND SCARS!

Madhukar's reactive responses brought her back to the present in a flash, and once she was back she decided to lift her paws and try to slam them down on the fluffy's head.
