Comet
Arctic Wolf
Comet walked through the dark cave, which brought back memories of when she had first met Mayfal. Now, it had been a few days and she was going back to check on them. She wasn't too worried, on her first day of meeting them, they had proved themselves to be formidable, even with being blind. The path was well tread, and it was soon when she made it to the house that she had given to Mayfal. "Mayfal! I'm here!"

@Mayfal
It was another regular day. At least, what Mayfal's body perceived as a day. And at that time, Mayfal's body was hungry.

They were mucking around trying to hunt with varied luck. They'd caught a mouse but it wasn't very big so they were trying again for something a little more filling. In the middle of their search, they heard a heavy footfall. Mayfal immediately hid themself. As the sound got closer, there was a smell that Mayfal knew well: the smell of one Comet. She must be coming to check up on them.

Mayfal quietly followed behind her. She must have been going to the house, as they could feel the smooth, beaten path beneath their paws.

When Comet stopped, so did Mayfal. She called out for them, proclaiming her presence. Mayfal had to hold back a giggle when she did that.

Then, after a couple moments, they yelled out "COMET!" and pounced onto her, laughing.

Comet pricked her ears, trying to hear where Mayfal was. Strange, they didn't seem to be home. But that was when she heard a very loud "COMET!" and the white fox was pouncing on her. It was easy to dodge, but the wolf let herself get hit and the impact had them both tumbling over. "Wow Mayfal! You really got me on that one!" said Comet. The fox was improving with their stalking abilities. "I've come back to check on you. But you seem to be doing just fine!"

@Mayfal
Mayfal knew that Comet didn't dodge on purpose. From how sparring went last time, she totally could have. But they were glad that she let the tackle happen.

Comet sounded like they were ready to leave as soon as she knew Mayfal was alright. It was embarrassing to admit, but they didn't want her to leave so soon. They came up with an excuse.

"Well, hunting's still a little tricky. I only had a small mouse before you got here." It sounded pitiful even without trying.

Maybe Comet would help with their hunt. And maybe stay a little while after that to eat with them. That would be nice.

Comet was relieved when Mayfal said that they needed help with hunting. She wanted to stay longer, but she also didn't want to intrude on their privacy, so she was glad that they had a reason for her to stay. Mayfal was one of her only, and closest friends. She didn't like leaving her alone too long.

"No problem! I can help you with that. To be honest, I could use some lunch." Comet wasn't too disappointed that Mayfal had caught a small mouse, at least she had caught something! And on their own too. They also didn't seem to have any trouble navigating back to the home. "Would you like to go by yourself?" Comet brushed her tail over Mayfal's paw and let them decide.

@Mayfal
Comet's ever-warm tail felt comforting on Mayfal's paw. They wouldn't mind holding it again, but they should probably keep learning how to navigate on their own.

"I'll be okay. I can follow you by smell and sound!" Their excitement about hunting with Comet was starting to show. Their ears and tail were perked up, their chin raised high, and their voice was lighter than usual.

"Lead the way!" They were ready to keep hunting.

Comet was glad that Mayfal was confident enough to navigate by themselves. She felt the excitement in their body, and she felt excitement go through her own too. "Let's go!" Leading the way, she made sure to walk a little louder than she needed too, so Mayfal could pick up the sound easier.

Finally, they arrived at the clearing, where they had started hunting when they first met each other. It brought back memories. Raising her nose up into the air, Comet tried picking out a fresh scent of prey. And there it was! "Found one!" she smelled it with her nose. Yep, definitely a rabbit. Scrawny or not, it would be a decent sized prey for them to catch. She made sure that the fox smelled it too, "You follow it first, Mayfal. Keep your nose on it at all times so you don't end up following the wrong track." she stayed behind them on the trail.

@Mayfal
Mayfal followed Comet's blatantly loud footsteps until they halted. There was prey nearby. They could smell it, too. They did as Comet instructed and followed the trail of this scent closely.

This scent led to the sound of a small animal chewing on plants. Those plants were about to be it's last meal because Mayfal was getting into position to strike.

Mayfal's nose was keen, and sooner than later, they found the rabbit chewing on a plant. Comet watched the fox get into position, and she circled around to the other side so if the rabbit were to escape their grasp, she would be ready to cut it off. Luckily, the rabbit seemed pretty much unaware of their presence.

@Mayfal
This part of the hunt was always the most thrilling to Mayfal. Knowing that their technique had worked, even with their disability, always gave them a boost of energy.

They heard where the creature was. They could smell a general direction as well. And there was a small spot of heat that their head could follow.

They pounced!

...Which made enough noise to alert the small creature. It was too late for it, though. They moved forward a small ways, but Mayfal's teeth sunk into its flesh. They had to bite into it again since it was still struggling, but it's pulse weakened to a stop. Mayfal was proud of themself!
