Nestled along the pup's path was a Master-level cabochon of banded blue chalcedony. It wasn't extremely large, either; just about the size of an eye.
A candy-like bit of emerald-green stuck out from Polaris's floor: a layered, sheet-like piece of lammerite with blue inclusions. It contained Fledgling-level magic.
This stone had been somewhere... else, once; perched atop a parapet. Thin, slit-like eyes peered across the amaranthine landscape and curving architecture, then the golden torc clutched in its three-clawed hands. A long, fishlike tail trailed behind it, hanging limp as it launched to its feet. The whole of its body was slender, covered in thin, silver hairs. Spider-like toes curled against the rock before it leapt off. Four arms held the metalwork close to its keeled chest, one occasionally coming away to act as a bracing limb while it scampered towards the arched bridge in the distance.
A marbled green jadeite in the shape of a hooked talon (three inches long) lay before the encumbered Comet. It contained Fledgling-level magic.
Comet found another candy-like green stone, though it was more opaque and foggy. The tsavorite was a tiny sphere with many cuboid points. Pupil-level magic resided within it.
Rainbow Opal lost stone with the following creature inside: A Pupil-level (+2) creature of unique origins. It was shaped like a large, heavy ape--not unlike the size and build of a gorilla. The skin was grey, however, the creature furless, and though its eyes were dark and apelike, the face was quite like that of a snake. A scaled frill framed its neck, laid back against the shoulders, and a second fin ran down the back like a sail.
Comet's senses lit up with it, though her attention would be drawn towards a honey-colored cluster of anglesite points sitting in the grass. It was no larger than her own paw. Pupil-level magic resided within it.
The next stone nearly blended into the grasses—it was a mossy green color, with a sage base. Upon closer inspection, it quite resembled a sea turtle's shell... not that Comet would be aware of what one of those was. It was a cabochon of chlorastrolite, harboring Pupil-level magic within.
Nestled amid the flowers, was a curved blue iolite. From broad to narrow end, it was about six inches long. It was rough as far as polish went, but the edge of it was sharp enough to cut unsuspecting lips on. Pupil-level magic resonated from within it.
As water lapped in and out of the shallows, a spot of blue gleamed; it shone even brighter in Comet's senses, cast out across Eridanus. The object stood stark against the ambient buzz of latent magic—it was certainly something living.
If the canine made her way closer, the speck would grow more and more definite: a polished round of blue kyanite. It was settled among the shore's pebbles, rolling gently with the timid waves. Despite the constant movement, spots of algae had had the chance to permeate its surface and cling to it.
Were Comet to reach down to grasp it, she might find that the Eyes were no longer icy cold. If anything, the water and the stone were both lukewarm.
This stone is a guaranteed revival and will not break upon attempt. The resulting hybrid will be drawn by myself.
