Appearance

ELEGANT - GRACEFUL - PRECISE

A beautiful creature, at least on the outside. Part Great Horned Owl, part Red Deer stag, and part elegant Borzoi hound, she is all grace and precise movements. Her size is about that of a large dog, with a trailing plume of feathers typical of a Borzoi's tail. Her colors are inherited from the owl in her, though the small pair of antlers atop her head are distinctly deer in origin, despite her apparently female gender. Black pigment, perhaps from the borzoi parent, laces both eyes, only serving to enhance their emerald green color.

The eyes themselves are notable for being something more than flesh: a thin shell of emerald crosses before them, rendering her perhaps more striking to look at, but dampening her vision so that she sees only vague light and shadows, and no color but green. It allows her to navigate, somewhat, though at least her owl's sharp hearing will somewhat make up for this half-lost sense. The shell, too, can cause discomfort, with periodic headaches plaguing the hybrid.

Personality

ARROGANT - DEMANDING - DIVA

On the inside, this hybrid is not so beautiful. Though Hecate speaks with a melodic voice, all garbled hoots and music, her words are acid. She is, first and foremost, convinced of her own superiority--and not in a helpful and benevolent way. Instead, she is arrogant, seeing others as far beneath her. She is something of a diva, all caught up in shallow values, blowing minor discomforts well out of proportion, and tangled in her own bloated self-image. Despite her refined, prissy demeanor, as if above all else, Hecate demands the basest creature comforts and the finest of everything. She may act as though nothing concerns her, but the nest she lays in had better be the softest.

In a strange paradox to her self-perceived superiority, Hecate sees her half-blindness as an impairment, an unfair disadvantage, and thus views the world around her with resentment. This physical half-vision is something of a poetic, karmic metaphor for her damaged perspective on the world.

The hybrid will come to possess strong powers in the arcane, focusing primarily on Seeing--on making up for her lost physical sight by viewing a world not-quite-our-own. She will look to lose herself in past, in future and in dreams, certain that these places are far superior to the inferior world around her--and sure, in turn, that she is superior for her ability to see them.

She is liable to treat others with arrogance, at first, and by pushing them away; or perhaps she will look to dominate, to manipulate others to her will and her whims. These factors will be affected by her time and by her experience, which may also mold her personality and her destructive world-view into changing in new and unexpected ways.
