Appearance

This Gembound is among the smallest. A fennec fox, Quentin is a tiny pipsqueak often scooting along the ground. His coat is coarse and thin to let the air flow through, while his legs are short and thin to carry him across fair distances. His tail, at a resting position, barely brushes the ground with a black tip. His coat, however, has a general toasted marshmallow kind of look. The top is darker tan while the bottom and face is a light white. Dots of black can be found along the spine and around his eyes, marking his face like very faint eyeliner.

His face, no matter the age, will remain feminine and child-like, as if a fox had a curse to be a permanent baby. It doesn't help that each ear is the size of his head, almost, dwarfing himself by a long shot. They're good for helping him hear the scrabblings of his meals and regulation of heat. He's fine in normal conditions, though when it comes to cold he's anything but.

The fox's gem can be found atop his left rear pastern, or what would count the top of a human's foot, to give a good comparison. It's partially unpolished and raises above the skin in a bright blood-orange color, shimmering at those who could see it. It's not hard to miss against his coat.

Quentin can be most closely related to a dog in his body language. His tail wags a mile a minute when he's excited and he's quick to press to the ground when he's submissive. His voice, though, is fairly high pitched and distinctly feminine- nothing that's bothered him, but it can get a little irritating depending on the listener.

Personality

The small creature, despite being young, has already been thrust into quite the danger. Being hatched in Hydra's Crucible, he's learned to hide amongst its cracks, innately afraid of almost any moving thing. He's a kit, yes, but that just means he can fit into smaller spaces.

However, despite being slightly animalistic in behaviour, it's clear that Quentin is a bit of a hoarder. He's fond of collecting things that seem to have no use to others. To him, though, he sees stories and individuals in each grain of sand, a tale waiting to be told. He's able to make a story for whatever object he's found to any Gembound he sees, usually. The metaphorical sky's the limit for his imagination.

'Naturally' colored Gembound scare him. They're the ones meant to fit in, the ones who would sneak up on your and take you out. At least the big hulking ones, you could see them from a distance. It's the quiet and 'normal' ones who you have to be careful of, just like the dusty creatures of Hydra.

Despite the danger of it, the fox genuinely does like Hydra, but he has yet to be introduced to any other area, so time has yet to tell for what's in store for him. Death isn't a concept to him; being alive, however, is his main goal. Whatever being aliven't is, that's what he doesn't like.

Once befriended, Quentin is excited as ever to even glimpse a friend's face, whole body often wagging in excitement. He's got a lot of pent up energy that he can let out by just straight sprinting for exuberant amounts of time. 'Course, he's got to fuel that energy, but he isn't really conserving of it.
