"Now I gotta..." They sit and begin to weave the sap-soaked strips of green inner wood, humming to themselves. First few strips that are around the same length, and they keep at it, melody mimicking the neon rainbow birds they like so much. Hmm. Maybe if they twist them, really, really hard? That might work.

Eyeing some smaller branches, they contemplate using the branches to twist instead of just their hands... and maybe walking with some of them later. Oh, maybe good stuff for a nest as well, if they can find someplace in Leo to live, and if the rope works maybe they can tie the shard of their chrysalis to the end of the stick as well. So many ideas!

Fingers slip, they can't get a grip, they lose their temper and shout and throw the strips and attempts... before sighing and getting back at it. Kicking at the tree they felled in some frustration, they aim for the smaller branches to get that satisfying snap they want.

This time, they tie the wet wood to the stick they broke off from the tree, and start to twist it...

"AH-HAH!" They cheer, and whoop, and generally make a fool of themselves as they shimmy in place. Continuing on, trying their best at replicating the rope, they start to twist weave the rest of their wood strips, using up the pile they shaved before attempting anything else.

They'll spend the next number of hours, even a day or two here, testing ropes, making more, slowly hollowing out the tree to make many feet of rope. They tend to wind up in lengths of 5- 7 seven feet, given the height of the tree and the winding of the rope reducing the cords so much, and maybe in the future they'll be able to twist even longer ones. For now, the few dozen ropes are all tied tight on the ends and carefully wrapped around several sticks, and the sticks tied together and strapped across their back like a bag.

Eyeing the remnants of the tree they leave behind, they do their best to make a mental note before hiking their bag further up their shoulder and head out, snagging their stone took, and gemstone blade on the way... Hmm. They're hungry...
