RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Azazel (Original) - May 10 2015 Aza'zel watched idly as a bear cub walked in, cheerful at first then solemn. Phoenix? Who was Phoenix? "Who is Feenix?" He squawked, then soon disregarded the question as he watched a spotted fawn enter. Some more spoke of golems and awakening them to turn the lights on. Aza went cold and he gave a small peep. "I had a nasty experience with a golem! One chased me and my friend Krakarak! I'll keep watch and if someone gets hurt by the golems and these ones are mean, I'll get them!" Nodding righteously regardless of if anyone heard him or cared, the bird hopped toward the wall, keeping his distance. With sharp eyes, he saw a tiny little bird on the rock pile. His blood ran cold with the realization of who it was. Bevy!. He gave a small cry, meant to tell Bevy that he was here, but he kept close to the pile of golems. "Be careful, Bevy." Aza'zel cried out, carmine eyes warily watching the wall. If these golems awakened and tried to attack the Gembound, they'd have to go through Aza'zel. Flapping his wings, the bird ascended and hovered, talons open and ready to strike if needed. Every muscle in the ave's body was tensed, ready to bolt to the aid of the two creatures on the wall now if they needed it. They could only wait and see. "Speech" RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Arkrael - May 10 2015 Speech Thoughts The sound of voices echoed. Drawing the she-wolf's attention. Paws stood firm against the ground as her very being was hidden within the shadows that lingered dauntingly around. A single emerald eye could be seen against the darkness, catching the glow of the many dimly lit vegetation around. Her travels had consisted of following Tamelyn's ever fading scent. It had led her to a room with a strange contraption, but no Tamelyn. Discouraged Arkrael had taken a break for awhile, tired from all the walking she was suddenly doing. Her little puppy legs had started to tremble and give out on her. After resting for a good while Arkrael carried on. Intent on finding her friend. The very first creature she had set eyes upon and became friends with. And now she was here, standing off in the distant shadow listening to the many voices that she could hear. There was a few yelling, or at least just one voice calling for something. Or maybe it was calling out to someone. It left her hesitant to go on further, but Tamelyn was there. She just wanted to see what her friend was up to. It also didn't help the fact she could smell water in the air. Oh she was thirsty. So thirsty that her mouth was starting to dry out just by thinking about getting a nice drink out of whatever was providing the water ahead. So, squaring her shoulders Arkrael began to move forward and out of the shadows. Her eyes landed, first, on a strange winged creature. It's wings a dark obsidian while it's head and body were covered in a(what Arkrael guessed to be) pink color. Her eyes moved from that creature on to the next. A strange big brown thing with rounded ears. Arkrael had definitely not seen anything like either of those two before. It didn't seem shocking at all to her that Tamelyn had found so many new friends. Her ears perked up, however, when her gaze finally landed on the little deerling. "Tamelyn!" She couldn't help herself as she exclaimed her friends name and without a second thought her little paws ran her right over to the deerling. Her tail wagging excitedly as she skidded to a stop just beside the deerling. A grin tugged at the edges of her muzzle as she looked Tamelyn over, making sure nothing on her was her. "Hey! Hi! Having fun traveling around? What're you guys up to?" The questions just seemed to rush right on out of her without her even realizing she was asking way to many all at once. She was just excited to see Tamelyn again. She gave the deer a playful nudge with her nose, before she finally took note of the other creatures that were lingering around Tamelyn. Interest peeked when she spotted a creature that was very similar to herself. Unlike Arkrael, who had several white patches in her fur, this wolf was completely black. A stone was perched right below an eye and Arkrael tilted her head in thought. Finally shaking her thoughts off she looked to the final creature that was among the room. This one was another little brown creature of which she had no idea of what. This one also had a blue looking gem, but it was on the top of her nose. Tamelyn sure did make friends super quick didn't she. Curiously she wondered what all of them called themselves, but for now she would see what Tamelyn was up to. Alas, even after viewing the four standing around something still made her feel like there was another lingering around. She just couldn't see who and where they were. Her eyes flitted around, trying to discern what could be lingering around that she was just not able to see. RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Game Master Madison - May 11 2015 Met by an abundance of Gembounds, the wall of dormant golems doesn't seem to do much. But the sudden onslaught of magical energy is noticed. Whether or not they had noticed, the air became thicker, crackling with magic. There was no movement, not that they could see through the darkness... at least until one small multi-coloured bird delivered a wave of active bacteria into their many crevasses. The magic coursed through them, pulsating through the solid stone; as though it were flesh and bone, it began to pull each lone piece of rock together, each segment of the afflicted golem tugging and pulling beneath the weight of all those piled above it. At the same time, another creature had approached a different golem. As their magic bled from the living Gembound to the dormant stone, energy reverberated all around its solid form. The canine would be met with a flash of images - mostly moving shadows, but the most prominent experience would be that of fading life. A distinct memory was offered unto the wolf: a quieting, a dullness in the air. They had come together here to sleep. Unfortunately, with the renewal of magic to the area, the golems could awaken once more. The two golems first touched by magic would begin to grind against the stones, struggling to pull themselves from their place in the wall. Then, one by one, each golem radiating out from the two initial ones would begin to move. The once lifeless wall suddenly began to churn as each golem attempted to pull itself together. They would sluggishly crawl forth from their bed and, in turn, cause a spout of water to pour through each new hole. The wall was slowly but surely beginning to deconstruct itself into hungry golems, each curiously lumbering towards the gathering of Gembounds amidst torrents of water. Characters will have approximately 5 minutes (a cumulative total of 10 posts made after this GM post) before enough golems have separated from the wall to cause the rest of the dam to collapse and a wave of water to rush through the riverbed. RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Bevy - May 11 2015 Indeed, the golems did stir beneath Bevy's small form. Alarmed filled her, and as fear took over a tiny shift happened in her brain. Focus took hold, and her vibrant eyes snapped towards the bird who had called out to her. Ah, Aza'zel! With a few, brief but strong wingstrokes, the tiny bird took flight, just as the first burst of water broke through the dam. "Aza'zel!" She cried, her tone a firm ringing pitch above the gem bounds. "Everyone has to get out of here, now!" She flew towards the bright, orange vulture, her wings gliding with practiced ease towards the larger bird. She stared down at everyone, knowing that they didn't have much time to waste. Hopefully no one would idle, but if they did she knew that Aza'zel and her could probably get them moving again. She dove down towards the other animals, her fear and shyness seemingly forgotten. Her feathers ruffled as she dropped through the air, her eyes scanning the situation. They needed to escape, but hopefully everyone picked up on what was happening. Hopefully her loud cry would get everyone's attention and make them move, because she was sure this process would take very little time. Already the water was pouring out from multiple spots, and the golems were stirring. She had woke them up, but was that what she was supposed to do? Bevy had intruded on something she really shouldn't have, she thought as she flew just over the water level, hoping to help anyone find a way out of the way if need be. She had done this after all, so anyone trapped to the flood was her responsibility. She wouldn't let them down. RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Azazel (Original) - May 11 2015 Still yet, the bird hovered above the pile of golems, wary. Suddenly, he noticed that both creatures on the stone piles were using magic. A face of pure alarm appeared on the vulture’s features, giving a shrill cry. "No!" Too late. A low grinding sound could be heard, as well as the wet slosh of water as it poured out from every crevasse in the golems as they shifted, rebuilding themselves to who they once stood as, misfits and byproducts of horrid mistakes. "Don’t use magic and run!" It seemed Bevy had the same idea, flailing about and escaping the fray and flying toward him. Giving a nod, the bird took a risky move in diving down and nudging the black pup that had nosed the golems. "You have to run, and fast. Don’t use any magic to do it." He squawked, then turning back to where the other Gembound stood, idling by, likely unaware of what was happening. Bevy’s voice cried out, commanding the other Gembound to get out and run away, but Aza decided to add onto her warnings. "Get to high ground, but don’t use magic to escape! The Golems sense magic, and that’s what woke them up. If we don’t use magic, they might go back to sleep. The water is coming and it might flood. Don’t get washed away in the current." Aza’zel screeched, wings flapping in powerful strokes. He stayed near the roof of the cavern, at Bevy’s side. "You okay?" He gazed at the small pitohui bird, carmine orbs displaying concern, then scanning down below. The golems moved quite slowly, but they were equally as deadly. It was a dangerous idea to hang out around the boulder-like monsters. Hopefully everyone would heed his command and not use magic. Perhaps then, the golems would rest again and the water could still flow in the dry gulley. "Speech" RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Tamelyn - May 11 2015 and dance together til morning!
"Phoenix is 'nother bird," she said in response to the buzzard's question. "She kinda 'nnoying, but she's okay." She looked back down as strange creature introduced herself as Carrie, and Tam grinned at her, always happy to expand her circle of friends. "I'm Tamelyn!" she said in response. The doe looked back at the wall as the other creature asked a question, which Majora answered for her. The wolf herself asked what golems were. "They're rock...things. Not Gembound. They's scary," said the deer, in one of her rare moments of visible fear. She was grateful for Majora's reassuring nearness. "Dunno why, but they are." She had never seen a golem chase after magic, but instincts ran deep, and she knew, somehow, that they were to be avoided. She raised a brow at Carrie's suggestion of simply asking the golems to move. "I dunno...can they even hear?" From what she had seen of them before, they didn't respond to movement, sound, or scent. The little creature didn't seem to heed her words, however, and slid back down the bank to talk to the golems. Nothing happened, though she hadn't expected it to. She looked up as wings fluttered overhead, expecting to see Pheonix. Instead, there was a brightly-colored bird much smaller than the hawk. It seemed puzzled, giving the wall a few pecks. At first, Tamelyn wondered if this was one of the nonsentient Gembound, but the bright spark in it's eyes said otherwise. The buzzard spoke again, and Tamelyn nodded at his offer to stand watch. That golems had actually chased him in the past worried her, and she wondered if they were doing the right thing, messing with the wall. She silently resolved as well to do whatever she could to make sure everyone walked away in one piece. He called up to the bird, Bevy, who seemed to be using magic of her own on the wall, though she couldn't tell what. Majora moved forward to give it a try herself, and Tamelyn's ear flicked with amusement at the wolf's persistent use of her nickname. She watched intently as the cub worked her magic, deep in concentration. So focused on watching Majora was she that at first she didn't notice the approach of another wolf, this one wonderfully familiar. At the sound of her name called out, however, Tamelyn turned, spying the other wolf racing out of the darkness. Joy welled up in her chest at seeing her friend again, and she jumped for joy, spindly limbs kicking out haphazardly. "Arkrael!" She trotted forward to meet the wolf, returning her nuzzle and her smile. "We's gonna make the cave light up!" she said excitedly. "We needa break down this wall so water will flow down to the...the doohickey...and then lights will turn on! ...I think." No more endless darkness for them! Suddenly, a crackling, groaning cacophony came from the wall. Whatever Bevy and Majora had done, it had accomplished something. Tam turned back to face the wall, ears laying back nervously. The individual golems began to break away from the wall, allowing water to spout out, flowing into the dry riverbed. Tamelyn's heart sunk down into her stomach as the creatures collectively turned and began to lumber towards the animals. Her voice was a squeak. "Uh oh..." What had they done? Tamelyn looked down, feeling wetness flow past her hocks, and realized that the riverbed was filling up. "Get ou' the gully!" she shouted, voice cracking with fear. She raced for Majora, grabbing her shoulder fur and tugging madly. "C'mon!" That dam wasn't going to hold much longer, and while the gradual removal of golems would hopefully relieve some of the pressure, there was a still a whole river behind it. Tamelyn turned and ran, clambering madly up the riverbed's edge, where she waited nervously for the others. She wanted to flee, but at the same time, she had never actually seen golems do more than aimlessly lumber about. If she could just see what it was they did, maybe she could find out if there was really anything to be afraid of. Trying to keep her knees from knocking, Tamelyn stood her ground, watching the rock creatures warily. "Listen to me." RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Leon - May 11 2015 Elizabeth gave me permission to have Leon try and pick up Carrie~ Suddenly there was a lot going on. Where the bear had previously been searching for the red hawk Phoenix, a whole bunch of others had come in to join them. Tamelyn was talking to some others, mostly the strange red vulture that looked like the hawk they knew. There was a fair sized, brown rodent-type animal that was beginning to yell at the dam. A small bird had fluttered up to the wall and attempted to use her magic on it, although Leon couldn't necessarily see it, he could feel the resurgence of energy - he was distracted as Majora also started shouting the name of the hawk they met just earlier. Then, the whole group started talking about golems. Leon didn't know what a golem was. It caused him to furrow his brow with slight concern - the way they talked about them made them sound... not very good. The bear cub tilted his head slightly, glancing over at the wall. If the wall was made of golems, then he was really bad at telling what a golem was, because to him all it looked like was a bunch of rocks. While another wolf entered the scene and began to talk to Tamelyn, Leon inched closer to the dam, trying to figure out what everybody was talking about. "Whats a gol-" The bear hadn't the chance to even finish his sentence before the dam started to come to life. Boulders all pulled themselves together, grinding against the other rocks lodged in the wall. The sudden movement startled Leon, making him jump back. "AH!" An icy shudder ran through his skin as he watched. It was surreal, seeing the wall once unmoving suddenly begin to shift. Catatonic creatures made of stone would crawl out of the wall and towards them, each one allowing a new stream of water to pour into the riverbed. The two birds fluttered away, screeching warnings at the animals below. Leon backed away with apprehension of the creatures but the water was already beginning to flood in around his paws. His heart beat rapidly in his chest. Fear welled up inside of him and before he knew it, he opened his jaws and spewed a defensive cloud of smoke at the advancing golems. Post-Roll Edit: He hadn't realized it, but amidst the billowing plume of smoke he had also sputtered a molten chunk of bile. It barely caught the upper torso of one of the golems. Though it produced a few more pillars of hot smoke from the golem's afflicted surface, it hardly slowed it down. Leon squeaked, ignoring the burning sensation in his chest from the spell and turned. He would try and flee from the golems and the steadily rising water, aiming to pick up in his jaws the first Gembound he saw - Carrie - and bring her to safety. RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Majora - May 11 2015 The golems were cool to the touch as Majora pressed a nose to them, visions seeping into their mind as their gaze was transferred into darkness, shadows leaping and flitting through voids until it all dyed down, the image of dimming life. The air around the pup became quiet and sound. This was the place where they had gathered to sleep. Which Majora might add, was not the best place to do it since they caused the water to stop from flowing to the machine. Vibrations, sounds of pulling together. They gasped when the visions stopped and they realized the composition of the dam was awakening. Eyes widened as a gaze swiftly flew around the riverbed. They had decided the situation was a bad one to be in. A tiny voice shouted something and even tinier wings fluttered away. The pup of arcane stepped back from the stirring golems, the large bird flew to them first, nudging them with whatever and warning them to run without using any magic. "Yes! Thanks, Feathers!" Majora gave them a quick nod before turning, Tam dashing after to remind them with an intense tug of their shoulder fur. The dark canine was heading up to higher ground, water soaking their paws but it saw the larger brown thing spew out smoke and something else that was pretty gross at the advancing golems. "AH!? Feathers told not to use magic. We go! NOW!" Black fur began to prickle and puff. Majora shouted words quickly before the other gembound would grab the over-sized rodent and start carrying her to safety. The pup would sped after them to make sure they made it, hurriedly but carefully shoving the slow moving brown things along the way. RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Carrie - May 12 2015
RE: Quest: Shed Some Light (P2) - Arkrael - May 12 2015 "Speech" Thoughts Audits were perked straight up and aimed right at Tamelyn when she began to speak, Arkrael's attention pinning on her instead of the others around. Her tail wagged with excitement as Tam spoke of trying to bring light to the shadows that filled the place they were born into. "Wow, that sounds fu-" She began only to cut her words short when several voices began to cry out in alarm. Her head swung around as she began trying to figure out what was going on. When water began to wash up against her feet Arkrael nearly jumped right out of her fur and she looked down just as quickly. "What?!" Arkrael had known there was water in the area, but there hadn't been any here a moment before. She dipped her head down and lapped up some of the cool water and hummed when it soothed the thirst that had been starting to grasp at her. However, when Tamelyn began yelling at everyone to get out of something she looked back up just in time to see her fearfully running somewhere. She looked to where she had ran from only to freeze in her spot when she saw the rocks begin to move and shift. Spouts of water shooting out from the many holes that were starting to form with the movement of all the rocks. She saw the brown fuzzy thing turn tail and grab up the other brown creature and begin his run away from the things. Her fur bristled as she could feel the fear of the others start to thicken in the air and she bared her fangs. Fear seemed to creep up on her though and her tail began to tuck beneath her belly and she gave a small yip that mixed with a growl. Just as she decided to turn tail and race after Tamelyn to get to the safe spot she had chosen another strange sensation over took her. Sending small vibrations and tremors throughout her entire being. Post Roll Edit: The ground began to tremble began at Arkrael's feet making it's way towards the golems and a strange loud hum filled the room from Arkrael's stone. A Surprised yelp escaped Arkrael, completely caught off guard by the sudden ability as she scrambling with shaky paws to turn and race off. Her paws splashed through the water, chasing after Tamelyn and scrambled up the edge. Her breathing came heavy and loud as a weariness suddenly sapped the strength out of her limbs and she sunk down onto her belly next to Tamelyn, her tongue falling out the side of her chops all the while trying to catch her breath. "What was that..." she murmured in question as she looked up to Tamelyn before looking for everyone else, hopeful that they had heeded the calls to get to safety. She didn't know them, but if Tamelyn did and they were her friends then she would see to their safety just as she would for Tamelyn. Not that they probably needed it though. |
