(Mads wanted me to title this specifically, sooo we might be a step closer to bringing in light :D Everyone from the first thread should come here if they wish, as can anyone else.)

A ten-minute walk had taken Tamelyn down the riverbed to a strange wall. The wall, it turned out, was diving the dry gully and a very much not dry river. The fawn paced the riverbed impatiently, waiting for the others to catch up, hoping they had seen her electric signal. After intently studying the stream she had come to the conclusion that, if not for the dam, there would be water flowing down the riverbed, and by extension the machine. They were so close, she could taste it! But the wall in front of her looking awfully imposing, and she wasn't sure how they would go about knocking it down. Leon was likely the strongest, and even with his help, they hadn't been able to make the great water-wheel move. She wondered if magic would be the key here, as it had been before, but hers would be no good here. The disappointment of before returned. All she was good at was making bright lights.

With a sigh, Tamelyn climbed up out of the dry bed again and walked over to the stream. She dipped her head and sucked the water, enjoying the refreshing taste. She lifted her head again, droplets trailing from her chin, and moved back to the wall to examine it closer. If it was weak, perhaps they could knock it down on their own, but she wasn't hopeful.

Little foot steps slapped on the smooth cave floor, echoing into the tunnels that surrounded the little creature. After getting a hang of using her legs, she was one the move and wasn't sure when she should stop. After all, she had no idea where she was going. The tunnels were so dim, only the fungus lit her way as she explored but then suddenly something bright flashes down a tunnel. "Wooooow!" Little steps turned into a short sprint towards the bright light. Carrie moved as fast as her little webbed feet would allow, the young capybara had to know where it had come from. Maybe there would be more light, she was so tired of all this darkness.

Turning a corner, just to sharp for the newly awakened soul, she fell down onto her side and rolled right into a pair of legs before landing into a pool of water. Shock took over the little creature, she struggled to get back to her feet before realizing she wasn't going to slip to deep into the water. But, what did she run into? Carrie turned around, lifting her small head to look up at the figure before her. "Ummmm . . ." Trying to figure out what was the right word to use, still working things out for herself but searched her mind before gasping when a word came to her. "GREETINGS!" The little female had a goofy grin on her face, that was a perfect word!

Majora was able to hear the little doe's call and a few words she shouted. Something about water and maybe a... wall? What kind of wall? Why was a wall important? Majora would have to find out when it reached her, the shadowy pup more than easily found its way by catching faint glimpses of the light she used to brighten the cave, the youth's eerie black orbs already filled with intrigue for what the little doe possibly could have found near the crystal stream. Upon arrival it almost immediately saw the wall that she had been shouting about. There it was, blocking the very water the machine was thirsting for. "Tsk!" The arcane-savvy canine scolded the wall for being there, how selfish of it to keep all the water to itself. The wall would likely have to be removed before the machine could have what it so wanted.

Majora noticed figures atop the riverbed and decided it might as well climb to find out if one of them was the deer it was looking for and to its surprise there was another creature beside her, a goofy grin stretched out on her face. She was rather unique looking. "Spots! Majora saw wall!" It called back to the doe after climbing with some effort before waltzing over to her on spindly legs, even managing to improvise a name for her, one that it thought suited her quite well. After all, she did have spots! "Who dis? Ya' have name?" Majora questioned the newcomer, eyes staring at the brownish being before gently poking her wet frame with its long tail.

"It speaks."

Wandering the caves had lead the little vulture to the heart of Origin Caves... not that he knew that. As far as he was concerned, he found where the most light was. Waddling over to a crystal formation, Aza'zel gazed deeply into the surface, jumping back with a clatter of claws at the sight of himself in one of the facets. "Ah! Bone king!" He squawked, carmine eyes flashing for a moment. Gazing closer at the facet, he took a good look at his face. Hey, he wasn't that bad. Raising a wing to smooth down an unruly feather, Aza'zel nodded in approval at himself. Yes, he was perfect looking right now.

It wasn't until he heard the clatter of cloven hooves and the soft pitter-patter of feet that he turned his head, the bone king tilting rusty colored crown. Hopping over to where he heard the sound from, he squinted into the dim lighting, simply hopping over the gulley. Rusty head bobbed and he took a good look at the two creatures already in the presence. "What you doing?" He hadn't heard either speak, even though the... big brown thing... had already spoken. Scrutinizing the two, he chirped quietly. "Need help?" He followed the gaze of the taller Gembound, the one with two toes on every foot, and saw a big clump of... something. Then another bounded right on in, big and black. So many big Gembound! This one that called itself 'Majora' mentioned a wall, and he was instantly curious. "Move that?" Aza'zel was tempted to hop closer to whatever this wall was, to see what it was made of. So innocent and naive as always. Gazing back to the two-toed Gembound, big black thing, and the big brown thing, he tilted his head.

"Speech"

Tamelyn was the first to bound off in search of an explanation for the machine's malfunctioning. They had all decided together that there used to be water flowing through the river, and that was what had powered the machine. Leon didn't know how to get water there, but it seemed like Tamelyn had a pretty good idea of where to start, and Phoenix and set off in search of a water source. So the little fawn left them behind as she bolted away; then the dark coloured wolf followed, and Leon would follow after them. He was equally as excited to figure out this mystery, but his legs didn't move as quickly as theirs. He was still clumsy, his gangly limbs easily getting tangled up in themselves.

Eventually he did arrive behind them all, only to see that Tamelyn and Majora were accompanied by two others. One of them was a dark coloured, big-nosed snuffler lookin' thing, and the other was a bird. "Phoenix! What did you see?" Leon called out to the bird, as of yet unaware that it wasn't the hawk they had met earlier. Only when he got closer did he realize that the vulture was definitely not his friend, despite sharing a strong orangey-red hue. Galloping towards them, Leon skidded to a halt, looking the strange new bird up and down. "You aren't Phoenix." He huffed, immediately embarrassed at himself. Well, bear eyes weren't that great, especially in the dark!

The youth backed up and craned his neck back to peer upward at the ceiling, but all he could see was darkness. "Phoenix?" He called, hoping she would hear him. Worry would quickly set in that maybe she had gotten lost, but he didn't know how well she could see. He frowned and produced a rather piteous look of concern towards his companions. Leon drew in another sigh, upset - it would be very bad if she got lost already, especially since she was their scout. Time to try again. This time, the bear threw his head back, sucked in a deep breath, and emitted a cry so loud he felt heat bubble up from his throat! "PHOOOOEEEEENIIIIIIIIIX!"

There is a source of water that could potentially power this generator, but it's being blocked off by a dam. What you hadn't noticed before is that this dam seems to be composed of many large boulders all haphazardly piled together - dormant golems. You need to find a way to get rid of the dam, but there could be some consequences. Three options are most obvious but each of them seem to come with a caveat: you could awaken the golems, but it may cause more trouble than its worth. You could destroy the dam, but you don't know how much water pressure is built up behind it - it has the potential to seriously damage the machine and its surroundings. Or, you could build a new path around the dam, but this may not provide enough strength in the current to power the generator. This problem is going to require some teamwork and heavy thinking.

Tamelyn
We'll reel away til the break of day
and dance together til morning!

She had expected the others to follow her, but she hadn't expected to be joined by entirely new faces. All of a sudden, something hit her legs, and she jumped away with a squeal, scrawny limbs flailing. With her tail high in the fashion of a nervous deer, she scanned the surrounding darkness, recalling that she had heard something splash shortly after something touched her legs. She peered into the gloom, ears flicking up again as something sloshed around in the pool. The creature looking up at her was like nothing she had ever seen before in her life. It looked almost like a rodent, like the little cave mice, but it was much, much bigger. It seemed at a loss for words at first, but not for long. It's enthusiastic greeting was such that Tamelyn couldn't help grinning in return. "Hi," she giggled back. "You's okay?" She wasn't hurt from where the creature had run into her, but she didn't know about the rodent.

Majora was the first to follow after her, calling over to her with a new nickname that caused Tamelyn to raise a brow. Spots? "Tam," she corrected, though it didn't really bother her all that much. She did have dapples, so she supposed it wasn't entirely ridiculous. Majora seemed interested in the new creature, so Tamelyn left them be to look over at the wall again. The gears in her child brain whirred madly, trying to devise a solution to their problem. Somehow, they needed to free the river and set it back on it's original course without causing a flood. But how?

The next creature to join them was also a stranger. A strange, rhythmic clicking drew her attention, and she turned to see a small shape hopping towards them, wings half-spread. At first, she thought it was Phoenix, but this creature had a different voice entirely, and looked just slightly different. "Tryna' send water t' the machine," she said in response to his question. "Gonna make light!" She nodded at his offer to help. "Maybe..." She lowered her head to get a better look at him. "You look like Phoenix...is you a firebird too?"

Leon arrived then, also mistaking the bird for Phoenix. She giggled, though there was no malice in her voice, only innocent amusement. Everyone made mistakes. Come to think of it, where was Phoenix? She didn't like the bird all that much, but that certainly didn't mean Tamelyn wanted her to get lost in the darkness. Leon wailed out, calling for the hawk, voicing her own worries. She spread her heads and shut her eyes, trying to draw upon the same magic as before to create another flash of lightning, hopefully to draw the missing bird's attention.

As before, waves of electricity crackled down Tamelyn's back, a bright white strobe light that stood out against the muted, constant glows put off by ferns or fungi. If Phoenix was still in the area, hopefully she would see it.

She released the magic, breathing hard. Hopefully, their friend had seen it. She turned her attention back to the wall, slipping down into the dry riverbed to examine it closer. It didn't look very sturdy, mostly just stone and mud, but the boulders composing it were awfully big. She squinted, looking at them closer. What were those weird markings...wait. Those weren't boulders, they were...she gasped. "Th' wall's made a' golems!"

The doe took a step backwards, startled. The shambling creatures frightened her greatly, for reasons she could't begin to fathom. She tried to stay away from any she saw moving about. These looked dormant, but still. She fretted, trying to think of a way to deal with this old wall. "Hey Majora!" she called up to the pup. "Can you do that thingy you did last time? Where you putted your nose on the machine? Can you do tha' with these guys?" If they could figure out how the wall had gotten here in the first place, maybe they could figure out how to take it down.

"Listen to me."

The little thing had started herself, but was glad to have bumped into someone so nice. "You ok?" Doing a quick over, she didn't feel that she had done anything to hurt herself. Carrie quickly shook her head, taking notice that more gembounds came into the tunnel they stood in. More new friends? The little capybara was sure none of the faces looked familiar at this time. In walked a canine, bird and then . . . LEON! She remembered Leon, he was friends with Makyna! "Ya have a name?" The female face to the canine who spoke to her, nodding. "I'm Carrie." Pausing to listen in on what everyone was talking about.

She must have missed something, but the little rodent did her best to try and understand. They spoke of a wall, which she took note was right there next to them. Wow, it was so big and seemed to be blocking something. "Is wall blocking something?" Tilting her head to the side, looking it up and down before turning back to the others. Everyone seemed to quick to discover, it was exciting for sure! The chatter about a fire bird and a machine. They all have seen so many things that were fastening. Carrie hoped to learn more, but her attention was pulled back when the doe, who said they were Tam, began to speak.

The rodent moved closer, trying to get a better look at the wall and what was around it. "Th' wall's made a' golems!" Whatever that meant seemed to scare the deer, causing the water rodent to jump back. What could that mean? What were golems, were they friends? She looked back to the others to see how they would react to this new information. Thoughts filled her mind as a question was asked to the wolf, "Can you do that thingy you did last time? Where you putted your nose on the machine? Can you do tha' with these guys? That made her think of something as well.

Maybe it wasn't the best idea but it made sense to the capybara. "Why not ask them?" Gentle and sweet eyes looked around to the others. Maybe the golems could be friends? "HELLO, ARE YOU AWAKE?" Oh why not, it never hurt to ask ether?

Bevy was still getting used to the whole of the cave, and stumbling into a huge crowd of beasties was not something she was looking forward to. The small red and black bird stayed out of the way, her eyes lighting up as she saw what they were all doing. The wall of blocks, blocking the water, made up of what might have been other creatures... They were still sleeping however. Although she was still clumsy on her wings, the bird managed to get enough height to fly over the entire group and even stick the landing on the dam made of.. what had one of those tall animals said? Golems?

The small bird felt even more tiny on top of the Golem Dam, her beak quivering as she stared down at all of the animals trying to figure out how to fix things. Did they want to wake up the beasts she had perched on? She was a bit unsure what the situation was, but with a tentative peck, Bevy decided that maybe the Golem's were sick and needed help. Help that only she could provide. It would be tiring, but if she could help out all these animals and the creatures of the wall, she would be happy.

So Bevy gathered her strength, and attempted to push good bacteria into the golem she had landed upon. Surprise filled the tiny chick as she felt the tingly sensation and watched the transfer of magick, invisible to the eyes of anyone, her herself only able to vaguely sense it. The spell seemed to work, but would it have any effect? A feeling of dread ran through the little birdie's feet and up to her wings, and she spread her limbs, ready to take off at the first sign of danger. Somehow, she had a horrible feeling that she might have actually done something and that that thing wouldn't exactly be good.

Majora's stare of intrigue on the stranger was only broken by the dappled doe when she had corrected the canine of youth, ear flicking at the sound of her name. Tam. It enjoyed the sound of "Spots" better and decided it would stick with the much more fitting nickname. Attention drew from the deer to the strange creature that looked like some kind of over-sized rat. She answered Majora's question with the name Carrie before focusing on the wall they mentioned. "Yes, Carrie. Water blocked by wall. Need water for strange doohickey in dry place. Doohickey says will give light to cave." It quickly filled her in about their quest to bring water to the machine and made a nod with much energy behind it.

Majora saw another gembound waddle in, a feathery type-thing larger than the one who had offered to scout earlier and the bear that had been following rather slowly behind came to question the bird but found that they were not the right one. Then he started shouting out something, fire bursting from its jaws after the last time. Majora stood by as it witnessed the bear's magic with shocked voids, body tilted away from the heat it produced but shock turned into wonder and the black pup hopped over to the bear. "Phooooeeennyx!" It shouted with him, obscuring the bird's name with his friend's.

Ears flicked again as they caught Tam say something interesting, gaze flying over to her. "Go... limbs? What those?" It wondered before it traveled down to where the little doe was. Seeing that she appeared frightened by something, the shadowy wolf brushed against her side in hopes it'd comfort her. Majora remembered her question and looked at her with a thoughtful smirk. "May work. May not. But will try for doohickey and Spots." It stated walking over to the dormant boulders of curious markings and doing as she had asked by touching a nose to one of them like it was second nature, unaware that there was a tiny bird working her magic on them as well.

"It speaks."
