@Cayenne @Egahi RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Cayenne - Feb 08 2016 Cayenne's mouth set in a hard and disbelieving line at the snake, and glanced at the slightly drooping glowing flower, then quickly averted her eyes. "If that's true then...." She made a shooing motion to the snake. "Get back a distance and stop yourself. I'm going to try and help her, so...if you're telling the truth, then you'll do your best to keep yourself rational." Then she looked at the dog and her mouth twisted. She'd dealt with poison before, with both her sister and her lover both being bitten multiple times, and time was of the essence. She put down her pack and rustled through it for a thin rope and tied off the dog's leg above the area that had been bitten, to help slow down the circulation somewhat. "A magic flower that causes rage..." She muttered to herself as she gathered up a pile of leaves and set it aflame with one of Tenn's pyrogel matches, letting most of her sleepy herbs and the one that relaxed the body, slowed heartrate, and promoted numbness fall onto the little fire, and at the same time she pulled up her neckerchief over her nose and mouth so she wouldn't breathe it in. "If that's the case then it needs to be ripped up." "Can you tell me your name?" She said to the dog and she focused on bringing up her magic to push out the poison, just like last time. It was really difficult this time, however - the last time was produced by magic, wild but predictable, and easy to see - this was furious and deadly and meant to destroy in its very nature, this poison, and it was incredibly fast. She barely made a dent in it, any everything she pushed out at the source of the bite bubbled and hissed and burned at the opening, and Cayenne gritted her teeth together. If this progressed it would go straight to the pup's head, and some of it probably already had. RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Egahi - Feb 08 2016 Shame filled the white female, wishing she were capable of burying herself into the dirt. Instead, she moved away further, hoping to make a believer out of this kind healer. She observed as Cayenne tried to heal the dog and flickered her tongue thoughtfully, before something struck her.@Nova | @Cayenne RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Nova - Feb 08 2016
@Cayenne RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Cayenne - Feb 08 2016 Cayenne thought about the snake's words bitterly given, and she paused. The words made sense, as long as she was cautious and was mindful to spit it out before it would get the chance to do anything to her. She was silent, then she looked at the pup and noticed the thousand yard stare and the vague and foggy tone she was speaking with, like she was drifting off. "Nova...My name is Cayenne. Now, Nova, I want you to lie down, because you're going to fall otherwise," She said, gently leading her down safely to the ground under the dark shade of the tree. Once she was settled, she said, "Now, Nova, I want you to breathe in this smoke here, it smells really sweet, and it will help you go to sleep. You need to sleep so that the poison won't spread as fast, okay? So I need you to breathe. Just...breathe, and it'll be okay." Doubtless fear and panicking adrenaline with the need to live would only make the poison spread faster, and sleep proved to be a powerful aid to her in the past. She took a deep breath and with her sharp gem finger, she cut the area around the bite clean of fur, shorn short to the skin, and she put her lips to the bubbling wound and followed the snake's advice. It was slow going, but she pulled the poison back to the wound through the bloodstream with the aid of her militant army of magic, and what was brought near the opening she sucked out and spit down to the ground, sneering at the acidic tang in her mouth and the violent ringing in her teeth that screamed ill favor every time it was brought to her tongue. Half if not most of the poison was gone now, hissing on the grass in bubbling pools, but Nova would still feel residual symptoms for a long time afterward. In between her work, she took a breath and wiped her stinging mouth and said to the snake in a low voice, "Do you do this often enough, then, to know the cure for your weapon? Bite other gems?" @Egahi RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Egahi - Feb 08 2016 Egahi waited, sneaking a glance at the motion of Cayenne spitting the venom. After a good portion was removed from her hapless victim, the vibrations of the lemur's voice dragged her attention back to the scenario, and with a lot of effort, refrained from looking at Nova.@Nova | @Cayenne RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Nova - Feb 08 2016
@Cayenne RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Party Master TO - Feb 08 2016 The flower wilts away. Perhaps there is another one somewhere in the caves... RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Cayenne - Feb 09 2016 At that, she spat out the remnants of what was in her mouth and looked at the snake. "If what you say is true..." She said slowly, "Then I'm sorry. You seem honest enough and I might've...been a little hasty in my judgements. The last time I dealt with poison my sister had been bitten over six different times, as did her lover, protecting her. I apologize." She turned back to Nova, reaching for her magic to push the rest out, not noticing the flower wilting away to nothing. With her back turned, she said to the snake, "It wouldn't be the first time magic made a gem act out of their nature." With one hand on the pup's fur, she closed her eyes and focused on the gentle rhythm of the do falling into a peaceful slumber, and with the aid of the restin heartbeat, she gathered the rest of the poison with her little army and brought the last remnants, every single last remaining drop, out from the wound. She set about making a sticky salve to prevent inflammation and infection with her herbs and her tiny glass of honey kept safe in her backpack, and when that was applied to the wound, she put clean and sterile leaves over it to keep it clean and dry. Absently, as she was doing all of this, she asked the snake, "What is your name, if I may ask?" @Egahi RE: Loves Me, Loves Me Not: Eridanus (EVENT) - Egahi - Feb 09 2016 The young reptile bobbed her head ever so slightly, the vibrations of Cayenne's voice becoming a stronger focus of the snake. She switched her gaze back and forth from Cay and the flower for a moment, then stared at the wilted plant again. Such magic was as poisonous as the venom she carried herself.@Nova | @Cayenne |
