The silence again. Calypso felt quite unnerved by it-- but in a way it only made her more curious. She watched the wolf as he plunged into the water, and after a moment, she made a short, sharp call, "Well?" The air felt still, and if the bird tried to fly away in that moment of peace she thought that she might find it impossible. A heaviness seemed to press in on her, as though she was the one in the water and any sudden move would make ripples or great waves upon the surface, shattering any illusion of peace.
"Is it safe?" She asked, this time a bit softer. She had that feeling again, like something sacred was surrounding them-- or before them. What was with the water? Dare she enter? Calypso wasn't one to turn away from a challenge, and it seemed like the wolf was fine... But something had happened and she had to find out. She couldn't just stand by, now could she? She hopped on to edge of the pool, her talons slipping down the lip, holding her wings out to balance.
She would wait for the wolf to leave before entering-- as well as wait for what he had to say about the whole thing. What was the water's secret?
.. But something told the bird that now wasn't the time. It was a strange sense, but suddenly she felt as though she had somewhere else to be.. Someone to meet. Her eyes narrowed and she shook her head-- the water hadn't hurt the wolf, but it had done something. One day she would come back to find out just what.
