He could hear the rumble before he saw it, his jaws so close to the stone piece before rocks started to collapse towards them. Fiery eyes widened as he scrambled to move, but his feet got little traction. "RUN! RUN!" he yelled, trying to push Nova with his block head to get her started. He didn't even care about the stone piece anymore, all he wanted was to get away from this rock avalanche! They were approaching fast, Ozias could only hope they could get away in time.

Fucking shit. Ears pinned back on her skull as the rumbling of rocks began to fill the air. She watched as Ozias already began to book it, calling after her. Watching as the stone they were so close to grabbing fall away in the mess of the rubble. Nova turned on her heels and began to run, but that darn lizard was right. She was just to slow when the time called for speed! A mountain of rubble comes crashing down; Ozias is able to avoid the rock fall, but Nova gets caught in the rubble. The rockslide outpaces her and quickly consumes her, burying her in a pile of rocks. Thankfully, the rocks are not too big or heavy to cause any serious damage - Nova will come out with a few scrapes and at worst a broken limb, but is buried under the rocks and must be recovered. For now, the statue piece is buried as well.

Ozias tried hard and he made it out safe, but it wasn't until he turned around that he noticed Nova didn't make it out. In fact, she was buried in the pile of rocks! He saw a glimpse of her face before she disappeared in the rubble and instantly he turned around, caring little about whether or not rocks were still raining down on them.
"Nova! Nova!" he screamed, desperately digging at the rocks, trying to unbury his only friend. What if she had been crushed?

The black dog let out a yelp once the rocks began to fall all over her, blocking out all of the light from the room. Shit. Wincing from each hit until the rock slide came to an end. Was that it? There was a ringing in her ears, but could barley make out the sound of her name being called. "Goddammit, I'm over here. . " Muttering as she began to wiggle in the pile. Slowly, the rocks would fall away from around the gembound. Covered in many scratches and sure to be sore in the morning. "What the hell was that!" When did searching for a piece of statue need to turn into something so dangerous. "Are you ok?" Giving the other a look over, he was lucky he didn't get caught up in the slide himself too. She was on her feet now, struggling at first, but made her way down the rock pile. How are we suppose to find that statue piece now? --------- "Speech" Thoughts OOC: @Ozias |

After seconds of digging at the rocks haphazardly, Ozias was relieved to see that she was alright. He didn't even really care about the statue piece right now, but honestly, he temporarily forgot about it. It was the least of his concern, but now that Nova was out of the rock pile and safe, his breathing could slow and his heart could restart. He panted, stress too high right now.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Are you okay? I think we tripped a wire. Why would someone set a trap!?" A scowl crossed his face then, angry at whoever thought it would be a good idea to try and kill them over a stupid statue piece. Looking around, he searched for who would be responsible for this, but found no one. His eyes narrowed more, but he found himself looking back to the schnauzer and his gaze softening.
"What now? Do you want to dig for it?" Whatever she wanted to do, he'd agree, but he honestly wasn't so sure she should be digging around in a rock pile after they all fell on her.

Nova shook any dust or little rocks that might still be on her form. The rock pile behind them that was a bit disconcerting, where could the statue piece be now? After all, it was about the same size as all the rest and it would be like looking for a needle in ah haystack. "Yeah . . just a little dizzy." Cropped ears pinned back a little, "And I have no flipping clue; never would have guessed but this better mean the statue better be darn important!" After all, if this whole mission was for nothing, then the black dog was gonna be in a mood, yet that didn't mean she would be giving up! No, Nova was gonna see this thing through. Turning back to the pile, "I say we finish this, I'm not gonna give up!" Sniffing around a little before starting to dig though the little stones. Hopefully thing wasn't going to come down some more. "Speech!" |

"It better be." He agreed with a curt nod, his ears pinning back. He hoped whoever set this trap was proud of themselves, because Ozias certainly wanted to tear a smug grin off the culprits face right now. Like Nova, he certainly wasn't ready to give up. They had already tripped a wire, so what else could happen? Hopefully nothing worse, but he couldn't imagine much worse. What if the pile fell again? It didn't look like it would... but then again, it hadn't the last time either.
"Let's just be more careful this time." He hoped Nova would listen, but he couldn't blame her for being angry. He would be too if a bunch of rocks fell on him. Actually, he was probably more mad that they hadn't fallen on him, and instead fell on Nova. With a sharp nob, she began to look around, "Right, it has to be here somewhere. " Pushing away more and more rocks, little tail nub held up as she blindly went looking for this annoying chunk of stone. Nova kept her eyes peeled, hoping she might spot it somewhere. Thankfully no rocks had fallen yet. They dug and dug away, removing rocks from the pile. He hoped Nova was right - he wouldn't be surprised if the statue piece just vanished in to thin air honestly. He answered with "I hope so," and continued to dig and pull rocks away in fear of another avalanche. Although he kept his eye on the massive pile of rocks, he too was looking for that statue piece in between all the rocks. Nova was right, right? It had to be here somewhere... "Speech!" |
