RE: Obstacle Course - Kito - Sep 01 2016 Kito's heart pounded in his chest as his legs propelled him towards the finish. He had never galloped so hard in his life. He snorted with each stride, expanding his nostrils to take in more air. His heavy breathing had stripped his throat of any moisture. It was so dry, he thought it would crack like dry mud. Although a drink would have been quite pleasant at the moment, he spurred himself forward with all his strength, gaining on the black colt. His long legs did not falter like the black colt's as he crossed the finish line, they remained true. He still came in behind the dark foal, however, but not too far along, finishing shortly after him. The rush of adrenaline gave way to giddiness as he playfully kicked up his striped legs. I did it!! I finished! His mind exclaimed. The little zebra reared on his spindly legs and pawed at the air, braying as triumphantly as a zebra could sound. Winning first or second would have nice, but at least he landed third. Kito couldn't have been more grateful. He turn back to other equines who had finished before him, grinning wide and eyes sparkling with glee, as he trotted towards their general direction. They did a good job too. He was so happy for them, especially for Saga. She killed it! "Great job!" He called out them, pausing to cough to ease his dry throat. "You guys were so awesome!" "Speech" Kito's thoughts... Auditory hallucinations @Saga @Thanatos RE: Obstacle Course - Rinaotei - Sep 01 2016 Impatience is getting too much now, so Rina starts to get a little hasty in flip these, only looking at them for a brief second before going over to the next she can catch her eyes on, throwing a blank one aside landing to be very close to the river to ensure they're out the way and so she doesn't accidently looking at the same one again. Still nothing at all though... This is getting absolutely ridiculous right now, it should not be that hard to find one measly rock. Maybe if she didn't keep on messing up on the others she could get here first and there would be more red rocks in the pile thus making the probability of finding one of them a bit higher than right now. words| 131 tagged| ooc| Oh wow. muse| 3/10 "Talking looks like this!" Feel free to post in the update me thread and claim your prizes as you finish! Thank-you for competing! RE: Obstacle Course - Destiny - Sep 02 2016 Destiny wanted to get through the course; she didn't care about winning. So when Destiny was confronted with this clearly sight-based challenge, her first guess was as good as any. She waited until she felt a rock knocking against her chest and stooped to take it into her billed maw. Time would tell if it was the right one, but now all that remained was to make it through to the end. Next port to call? Ah yes. A stick. With her beloved rock clutched in her bill, the platypus snuffled and shifted through the dense pile for something small enough for her to carry. With some difficulty she tried to hold it under her paw and wedge it into her bill sideways. She just needed a bit more angle... But she couldn't tilt her head anymore, as that was where this accursed black opal had grown over her spine. With some difficulty, she maneuvered the (actually quite large) stick so that it poked out of one side of her bill and began to waddle off. Last thing! I'm nearly there! RE: Obstacle Course - Rinaotei - Sep 03 2016 This is taking too long now, and Rinaotei can't be bothered to take things longer than it is now, it’s about time for the new set course of action, a change of pace. Rina now proceeds to whack lots of them with her tail quite fast, to get them be flung in the air for a bit. Getting suddenly knocked into the air for a bit has caused them to go into spin-outs, so Rina if she begins to observe very well with her eyes and perception, and not taking her eyes off then she'll be able to see the both sides of about a dozens of rocks at once. Good enough distance too for them to be out of the way too. Well nothing right now she thought to herself, she's starting to wonder if she should just make small cut on herself and smear a drop of her blood from the cut on a rock and just take it, well sounds a bit morbid but she's getting tired of now much time is being utterly wasted. Swiftly brushing her tail against the ground again to fling more in the air flinging them to a different direction from the others. Then Rinaotei caught a glimmer of red in her view from the next batch of rocks, though it was very brief and it was just a small speck, but it was a red that looked too bright and unnatural to blend in with her surroundings. When the rocks landed Rinaotei walked over to it to find where she saw it, knocking blank ones aside, away from the untouched ones. Then she saw the rock, with a spot of red splotched on it, too unnaturally bright to be part of the rock... Unless it was blood. Sigh... Finally! Found it... Since she'll be panting with her mouth from running, she'll carry the rock with her tail, picking up a stick along the way. Time for the final stretch now... Rearing back, then pouncing for her first step to get a boost she lopes back to the Spire. words| 347 tagged| ooc| FFffffffffffinallly XD muse| 7/10 "Talking looks like this!" RE: Obstacle Course - Previous GM Briar - Sep 03 2016 With the first, second, and third place winners being decided everyone is now allowed to post freely without waiting 24 Hours to help conclude this event more quickly! Thank-you! RE: Obstacle Course - Destiny - Sep 03 2016 Destiny knew where she had to go next. She was going to finish this! With the stick and the rock grasped lopsidedly in her bill she waddled for her life, following in the footsteps of those who had long since left her behind. Destiny assumed she was about to come last, but she didn't care. This was about to be her moment of glory anyway! With many stumbles and stops to catch her breath, she slowly made her way there, towards the Spire. Put the stick in the dirt, she repeated the instructions over and over again. put the stick in the dirt... The little lady's flippers moved frantically and her fatty gide wobbled, but in time she had made it, and was working the stick she'd claimed into the mud. And this was it! The final stretch! From the big chunk of rock that was the Spire, and to the finish. She prepared herself for the last leg. Destiny couldn't wait to see who won! RE: Obstacle Course - Rinaotei - Sep 03 2016 Dashing back over to the Spire, with her stone and stick alongside her, just bothering to just complete it for good sport now, she doesn't want to just go off this just because she didn't win first place. Her dash was fairly swift so it was only a matter of time till she reached back to The Spire, the moment she reached it she immediately threw down the stick in the ground in an attempt to dig it into the ground and complete this part of the trial, although her excitement and impatience to get to the finish line made it seem more like she just thrown it just because instead of the intent of sticking it in the ground. This was a bad idea... words| 125 tagged| ooc| Fffffffffffffffff XD muse| 5/10 "Talking looks like this!" Thinking looks like this... RE: Obstacle Course - Saga - Sep 04 2016 From the sidelines she watched as her friends finished the race. First there was Thanatos galloping to the finish and then there was Kito! Seeing as her last encounter with Thanatos had gone poorly she offered him a happy little whinny and a congratulations but then trotted right on over to Kito to give him a celebratory mane nibble. "Good good job! You guys were so awesome too! Fantastic! Much fun this was, kir!" After her little mane nibble she stood by her friend's striped side, grinning first at him and then at Thanatos. Obviously pleased that everyone had finished safely. RE: Obstacle Course - Destiny - Sep 05 2016 With the stick firmly shimmied into the earth, there was nothing stopping Destiny from finishing the race. Feeling the echoing vibrations and seeking out the churned earth beneath her flippers, she followed the tracks and trails towards where she knew the rest awaited her. The rock was clutched in her bill, her breaths whistling around it, and she still didn't know if it was the right one. For all she knew, it could have been just a rock. But she didn't care! She'd gotten through the race all by herself! She hadn't needed any help from anyone! With her heart swelling in overly-exciteable, childish pride, the platypus waddled over the finishing line and felt the vibrations of other creatures' footsteps greet her from all around. "Well done! Oh, well done! I'm so proud of you all!" she cried out in ecstasy, the rock thudding to the ground by her flippers. |
