RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Elias - Apr 27 2020

As Elias moved, he wasn't looking where his legs were traveling (weird gator body, duh) and he somehow fell into a hole that felt like it was specifically there to keep his awkwardly long body in place without getting out. It didn't have any water inside, either. His nails had dirt and rock in them, and his body didn't like the feeling of the cave grounds on his body. Not fun!

He wanted out!

So, Elias attempted to climb back out. At least he could try.

Legs caught the side of the hole, and with some trouble he was able to get a grip with his nails and pull his heavy body out. After that, he didn't want any of this. Time to go.

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Pip - Apr 27 2020

The blue glow of Polaris flickered back into the cave. Slowly and gently. It was soothing. Her middle most pair of legs hit something again. Another smooth thing. Cold against her feet. Yet this time her vision cleared, and colors had become obvious once more.

It was a gold thing, sparkling and bright. It almost reminded Pip of the stones on her abdomen! But much smoother. It was large and round. Much too big for Pip to wear. But she liked it. It looked like smooth yellow her! She attempted to tuck the kaleidoscope further in her arms, and used the tips of her claws to drag it.

She dragged it in the direction she thought was the exit. But a smell hit her nose. Strange, tangy and..spicy? She had to know what it came from. It took Pip a good while to drag the rings to the cheeto spot. But when she got here she was well rewarded.

There was another creature here! Another one of those weird wet eyes ones. Not the glowey maker. But this one was more normal sized! Not as small as her, but still smaller. And the rich delicious scent of the Party Sized Jalepeno Cheddar CHEETOSĀ® was even stronger here. Pip dropped her rings not far off, and crawled upon the bag. She stared down with a tilted head, marvelling how the bag wrinkled and crinkled beneath her steps.

"Hey fluffy thing? Whats this? It smells good! Like something tangy and... burney! Does burny taste good?"

Pip bit the bag. It was flavorless plastic with an odd texture. None of the taste. But why was it so strong here? Were Pip a mammal, she would've wrinkled her nose in confusion.

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 27 2020

The lights came up, and every lifesign visible in its periphery became creatures it could see properly. Some were, of course, familiar as beings it'd beat up previously - Elias and Deli (it was absolutely going to bully that dog given the opportunity) most prominent. But, first: locating Garnet-Delta. Not missing the value in a very shiny, suspiciously heavy (what is this feeling?) link, the orthoclase bowed down to pick it up. Hoisting it up, grunting around the metal - a gibberish sort of "Delta?"

Magicka flared, but there were too many small bodies here. Far as it could see, it was the largest of this bunch (big surprise) and nearest was... fruit-giver, knelt down and sobbing into some sort of blanket.

Oblivious to this, the kaiju plodded forwards, standing near little Vivilene, plonking the weird ring on the ground next to it - stepping inside of it to avoid any thievery - and grunted, "you." Once attention was acquired, Alpha leaned down close, "what is this?" As if a sobbing child would know.

Then, after a glance around at the various trinkets and treasures, it added in a conspiratorial whisper, "did you find new fruit?"

he smiled, happy with his collection, clapping his hands happily. he set the gold in his mouth to avoid dropping it as he walked, and happily made his way out of the tunnel, the sounds of his shiny collection following him with delightful little jingles he seemingly took great delight in.

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Cain - Apr 28 2020

Delta closed its claws around the seafoam green gem at its paws, momentarily absorbed by the shimmer of rose gold. Its ears swiveled, listening for signs of danger, but it did not hear anything particularly threatening. Yet, anyway.

The darkness lifted, and the cat-alien's eyes shut with a wince at the bright blue glow. It hissed under its breath, opening its eyes after a moment to look at the find in new light. It was... Shiny.

Garnet-Delta had never had anything... Shiny. It had never been materialistic. This was not a particularly special find, all things considered. But perhaps it would have its uses, one day. It nipped the golden chain, picking up the jewelry, and turned its head to sweep the area.

Suddenly, it felt incredibly exposed. It's skin crawled as it tried to summon its magic, but that only made its fur itch terribly. No, no, this was bad. There were too many strangers. Spreading its wings, it quickly scrambled across the ground with its trophy, and took flight, sweeping toward the massive kaiju before anything tried to attack it.

Alpha had approached some strange, six-limbed thing (this one seemed much more delicate, a deer-flesh-purple thing. Maybe they had some kinship, being six-limbed, although that was the only trait they had in common. Delta landed with scrambling claws on top of Alpha's head, scurrying down into the protective quill bed like a frightened clown fish in tucking into sea anemones for safety.

"Are there normally this many... creatures, near Polaris?" It hissed, mostly to itself more than anything. It's next question was clearly for Alpha, however, "Who's this?" Bright red eyes peeked over the top of Alpha's skull down at the tiny, dainty centaur-thing it had found.

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Vivilene - Apr 29 2020

i need someone to look into my eyes and tell me

Something cold touched Vivilene's fingers; she flinched at it, tears blinding her. She curled her little hand around it and felt something metal, shiny in the low, low light. Until they blinked back on, and the water pooling in her eyes weren't the only thing blinding the hybrid.

She rubbed her eyes with the back of her wrist, gripping the silk and the bracelet and then she heard a thump. When she managed to open them again, and see without flinching, she saw the creature she'd met some days prior. The fruit-monster.

And of course, it was asking about fruit.

Vivilene's eyes lowered to the thing it had presented. It looked a bit like the bracelet she picked up-- but a different colour, and smaller, and hers was a little prettier, if you wanted her opinion. Alpha likely didn't, though. She voiced nothing.

She reached out to touch the object but she flinched back at the mere feeling of it. It was... bad. Not in a way that the hybrid particularly knew, nevermind knew how to articulate, but a guttural feeling told her not to bother with it. That thing was for monsters.

Alpha would do good with it.

Reaching out for her magicka again was scary, but she felt nothing. Thankfully she felt nothing. Nothing was better than pain.

Vivilene rubbed her eyes a little as she lifted herself up with a grimace and looked around. She bleated at Alpha, and then pointed towards Attikias in the distance. Hopefully the message was clear enough-- 'he'll know' --but really, who knew how Alpha's brain worked?

There was a brief click as she stepped away and then looked back towards the Orthoclase, waiting for it to follow. If it did, she went for Attikias. If it didn't... she waited until it did.

"girl you know you gotta watch your health"

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Deli - Apr 29 2020

Deli
Deli picked up the next stone and tossed it around in their paws for a moment before the lights suddenly came back on. They looked up and their eyes widened as they caught sight of Alpha...again. Well, they weren't going to stick around and listen to its idiocy. Nope, they were outta here.

It stashed the last gemstone into its bag and turned, walking casually out of the tunnel without looking back.

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 30 2020

Alpha barely moved as the familiar not-weight of its hatchmate settled on its head and shuffled towards the safety of its mane. It'd gone without at least one little creature in its quills for quite some time - and it found itself quietly comforted by the pressure. Incredibly odd. It chalked it up to the assurance that it had not lost a self-assigned charge. Still watching Vivilene, it grunted up to Delta, "it had fruit from Eridanus."

Either they'd never swapped names, or it hadn't bothered to remember hers.

Acidic eyes trailed her hand toward the link, strangely not at all possessive or protective of the ring. Again, it chalked the sensation up to a more logical thing: it was going to dispose of it. Useless trinkets would belong in Algol's store, probably.

Vivilene made a soft sort of noise, and pointed at an upright figure some ways off. Some mental gymnastics ensued - a part of which involved Algol-spawn? and life-giver of fruit-giver - and it... got the point of the gesture after she'd taken a few steps off. Follow.

Wariness peaked for a moment, unsure if it did want to trail her to what appeared to be several other Gembound. Bowing down (carefully, not trying to upend Delta onto the floor) it picked its find up, adjusted it in the jaws, and cast a sidelong glance up and down the tunnel. Shifting weight to either forearm, the kaiju figured that hey, it was big enough to not be trifled with.

Setting its head level with its spine, Alpha slunk after Vivilene, eyeing the collective Elenya clan cautiously, almost tensely..

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Morpho - Apr 30 2020

Morpho felt his foot brush against something soft, fabric but thicker than the piece of silk. He grabbed it, draping it over his thorax. It fell, sliding down onto his abdomen. He tried adjusting it a few times, but it kept falling, so eventually he just left it be.

If he had eyelids, Morpho would've blinked as light started to flood back into the tunnel. With his surroundings now visible, he began to inspect the trinkets he'd found, placing each one onto the ground in front of him and then picking up each in turn to look at.

A wide silver bracelet with a pretty purple gem. A soft piece of pink silk, large and square-shaped. An even larger piece of dark blue fabric- a cape, though he didn't exactly know what a cape was.

With his findings thoroughly inspected, he put the bracelet back on and grabbed both pieces of fabric in his claws. He looked around the room, looking for Pip. He found her soon enough, with a small fluffy two-legged thing and a odd-smelling crinkly thing. He quickly made his way over.

"Whats this?" He asked, leaning down to inspect the strange object. His gaze quickly shifted to the pidgeon "Who's that?" He asked, automatically assuming Pip knew them, "Is this a... 'cat?'"

"Spoken Words."

RE: [EVENT] The Visitor - Pride - May 01 2020

Well, this had been... puzzling. The lights returned, and he could see the absolute mass of Gembound crowded into Polaris. There were shiny items everywhere--glass, or were they stones? and clothing--and Pride, puzzled, looked them over.

"Did anyone else see it?" he called out; "I think it may have been the Collector-?" Tall, black-cloaked, red-eyed. If Pride had known, perhaps he'd warned them that the items might be cursed, but he didn't know that particular quirk of the Collector.

Instead he shook his head, turning back with some puzzlement toward the glass ball. Had it been some sort of bizarre payment for stealing a tuft of his fur? That had been bizarre enough. Maybe he'd go find the Collector, in Canis, and ask what the hell that'd been about.

Pride turned, making his way back off again, lifting the glass ball into the air before him using his magic. It hovered before his head as he took his stately steps away, wondering at the meaning of this all.
