10,000 Posts On Origin!
Yesterday we managed to exceed 10,000 posts! In just four months, Origin has over 1,200 threads made, 10,000 posts, and almost 300 active characters. That is a
huge achievement for our humble little roleplay community - the staff are overjoyed to see so much activity on site, and we'd like to thank you for everything you've done! To celebrate, we have a brand new skin for you guys, a scavenger hunt, and something tells me that there's a
contest triathlon brewing...
10K Post Scavenger Hunt
That's right, a scavenger hunt! Origin Cave seems to have become overrun by cave deer! Several herds of different subspecies have been spotted throughout the cave, and
Deer Dad wants to know where they are! Why? Well, the last time there was an abundance of
new organisms was four months ago... and we all know how that turned out! There will be 2 herds of each subspecies of cave deer, which you can read up on
in this thread! The herds you're looking for are shown below:
You'll find these herds scattered throughout Origin Cave - some may be in the forums, others may be on special pages, some may even be hiding in important threads you find yourself visiting every day! One thing's for sure, they won't be hiding on any IC threads, profiles, or in the archives. When you find all eight herds, PM the links of the locations you've found the herds (list the Herd # and location on the page) to the Origin Cave account, then post in
Update Me! to claim your prize of ʡ50! There may also be a fancy achievement in it for you... You guys have until
September 18th to find all the herds before they wander away!

Purchasable Skills Poll
The staff have been playing with the idea of another new feature, and after discussing it and fleshing it out, we've decided to see what you, the community thinks! Purchasable Skills will be feats that your character can accumulate by buying them in the Magicka Shoppe (for Magicka, of course) that can give your character advantages in some fields. While they offer feats for all level paths, a lot of these skills will focus on improving characters who follow the Physical Combat and Other level paths.

With the discovery of the Lorekeeper, our Lore Library is finally available! And it looks like the Lorekeeper has a story of her own to tell...

Feature Studio: The Shiny Shop!
Lyss is one of our newest members, but has brought to us a selection of beautiful artworks that we're already beginning to see pop up on some of our very own Origin characters! Her studio is pinned in the Art forum, and she offers avatars, tables, signatures, skins, and more for USD! If you're lucky, you may also be able to catch her offering her artwork for magicka - so keep your eyes peeled!

Favicon Contest!
And don't forget about our
Favicon Contest, suggest some themes or ideas for Origin's favicon (that's the little image that appears in the Origin tab), and we'll narrow it down to a few suggestions and make some icons for you guys to choose from! The suggestions close on
September 16th, so hurry and get your ideas in!
Mobile Skin
Some of you may have noticed that we've installed a mobile skin for Origin. It will automatically detect if you are browsing the forum on a mobile device and then change to the mobile skin, however you are free to select the desktop version at the bottom of the page instead. This is a bit of a bare bones feature for now - we'll be working on cleaning up the mobile skin, as well as adding an option to the UCP that will allow you to choose whether or not to automatically detect the mobile skin on your account.
Reminders
As usual, we'd like to remind you guys about a few things...
Thread Sweep
A thread sweep will occur on September 18th. All threads that have not been posted in since August 20th will be archived. You can request threads to be saved from being archived by PMing the Origin Cave account, or you can request them to be restored to their original forum in the Update Me! thread.
Vote for Origin!
At the bottom of the index in our affiliates section we have a button for Animus Top 50. If you'd like to help out raising awareness about Origin, you can click that button and vote for us! Of course this isn't necessary, only a small favor to Origin should you choose to do it.

This quest seems to be coming to a close after the Beast and Jupiter fought each other, but what's the deal with... well, the other Beast?
Story Time with Lorekeeper!
The Lorekeeper has been telling stories to the Gembounds all day, but after a large crowd amasses before her, she decides to tell them her own origin story.
