The pitohui bird perked up at the mention of Remedy and Cure-- and for a moment, there was a flickering flood of confusion. A mother bird, desperate to see her children, and a patient, playful uncle hushing her back, promising they were safe. The avian stared with wide eyes as Cancer's gaze ran across their feathers, mind muddled with more thoughts, questions, and feelings than the
braincase could keep up with.
"...They have names?" Came the first voice, breathy and in awe, though she couldn't seem to manage to turn her head to look. It hurt her to be separated from her baby, but in that moment, she was overwhelmed with a sensation that the gembound before her had become a father because of her. That they shared a kin. That it was
true. Yes, Amaria had told her... But...
Rajani did his best to reign her in, but immediately a sharp, hissing voice escaped the bird, biting and vicious.
"A sickness, a strength too great, it will come and kill-- "--Caves! Must you ruin this?" The bird puffed, feathers ruffling, stumbling on his own talons as the world seemed to spin dizzily around him. Quickly, the playbird did his best to put back on his face, composing the small avian into a lighthearted cheeky bundle of feathers.
"Nevermind that, Cancy, you know! Enna is actually frequenting Canis for a hyena named Giggle--" VIOLENCE IN OUR BONES, YOU FOOLS! "--A-and, ah, yes, you see... Her son is injured, badly. Why, it's a foolproof plan. No one would ask a thing. It is a bit far though, Calypso doesn't like us wandering off so much, you know how she is..." For some reason, he couldn't seem to keep his gaze on Cancer now, as Roshan screamed and screeched, swelling their mind with fear and rage. It was so overwhelming that the bird began to tremble despite himself.
Calypso grumbled mentally, stirring to process what all the fuss was about. Apparently the visit had gone less than ideal, little to her surprise, and Enna was a mess of panicking, emotional feathers once more.
"Honestly, do you have any idea how exhausting it is," the bird chirped softly, leveling her eyes to Cancer's. With a sigh, she peeped politely,
"would you mind terribly if I checked on them?" She raised a wing to point at the chrysalises, keeping her vision firmly planted on the leopard.
