Ash wanted to answer her newfound mother with words, but abruptly remembered she had no way of forming them without using magic. Looking absolutely bored of that idea, she instead stretched her butt wings and lifted her head into her birb momma's preening, letting out a long stretch and a sleepy yawn.

The child plopped down into the marsh and stared at the orb, her paws reaching out to keep prodding at it. She wondered if she could keep the glowing treasure too, but she knew that it wasn't really there. Her foot went right through it, no matter how many times she tried to touch it.

... That was alright. Maybe she could bring Eve home with her so she could play with the light whenever she wanted.

"You can sleep," Eve said, still preening. She kept an eye on the orb, just to make sure it didn't fade out. "I'll be here when you wake up."

The crow fluffed herself up atop Ash's head, nestling down into her noodle daughter. Perhaps she'd stay, and she could introduce her to Oliver. Gradually, however, she closed her eyes.

Ash liked the idea of sleep, and with the orb bobbing in front of her eyes and her momma birb preening her feathers, she soon drifted off to sleep.
