The capy was about to continue on about what she recalled, but the voice of her son took her attention. Stopping, she looked down at him as he seem to beg to leave now. Could they go now? Glancing about, her son was right, Hasira and his son were no where in sight. They both were probably off conducing business at the throne or in another room. This was as good of a time as ever . . so why not? After all, there were no guards and she had no reason to wait any longer; Yarrow was born and now she was free to leave. A smile formed and Carrie look back to her son. "Yes . . yes we can; but it will be a long walk." Very long, down one of the large tunnel, but no more then a couple hours away. He broke out into an incredibly happy grin, and he stopped walking and stood on his hind feet, his hands tugging at her fur. "C-can we really go? Can we go right now! Mama, I want to go now! Can we, can we?" His eyes glinted brightly, a happy steel blue, and his breath was caught in his throat. Oh, to be where nice gems would be! To not get teased and harrassed and looked down on like there was something wrong with him!

Well, there were things wrong with him. His happiness dimmed. There were a lot of things wrong with him. He was useless and worthless and couldn't do anything right.

Fear crept into his heart. "Wha-...what if...t-they don't like m-me, Mama?" He whispered, tears coming to his eyes. "What if all the nice gems think I'm...." He couldn't utter the word he hated so much, he couldn't bear it.

Sitting herself down, the capybara watched as the child showed great eagerness for their future destination. Lifting her front foot out and softly patted it on the others little hand. "Of course, I've been planning to go for some time now. Just been waiting for you to join me." Giving him a reassuring smile; but when his smile faded away, Carrie frowned. "What's wrong?" Leaning in to hear him better. Trying to understand what could make him so sad with this joyous event on the horizon. Not like him? "Nonsense! They will love you, do you understand." Mama brought him into a warm embrace and he clung to her, feeling tears prick his eyes. He didn't want to cry, he didn't want to be useless, he wanted to- he wanted to be brave for Mama, because she had given him the whole world.

But it was so hard to be brave when she tried to comfort him. What was there to like about him? He cried too much and couldn't fight and could barely raise his voice and he was so small!

....But...the winged girl liked him...didn't she? She even mimicked his voice for him, to make him smile, and he didn't even do anything.

Maybe they would like him even if he was...useless.

He sniffled and wiped his eyes against her chest and looked up at her. "...Y-...you sure? They w-won't yell at me o-or make fun of me?"

She shook her head, the bluish gem on her nose shimmered. "I promise you, and if they did do that I'd stand up for you." Dropping a kiss on top of his sweet little head. He wouldn't need to worry, she had a fire inside now that burned to protect the child. Motherly instincts perhaps? Carrie would stand up again, eyes stayed on his face. He sniffled more and cleared his face and rubbed his eyes and nodded for her, and she let her go so that they could face each other. He griped the cold stone ground and looked up to her.

That's right...this would be an adventure. There were dangerous things in adventures, weren't there? It wasn't all sunshine and daises in such things. So he would be brave for her, and if they got there and he was yelled at and they didn't end up liking him....well...he would be strong...or they would find someplace else, somewhere better, or someplace even for the two of them, if it came to that, if no one else liked them.

He took in a deep breath. If he had Mama, he would be okay. No matter what, if she was near, and she loved him, he was okay.

He nodded to her, hopeful and quiet. "L-let's go, Mama."

It pleased her to see his face hang and her song seemed ready to go. She was here for him and he was her everything. Giving him one more little kiss to the forehead as he urged the two of them to head on out. Getting back to her feet, Carrie glanced once more around the room. This is where she had 'called home' for almost two whole cycles, but there was no regret in knowing they were both going to leave this place behind. Their journey would begin, heading to the mouth of one of the tunnels. It would be tunnel M, a very cold and icy place and the quickest way to get to Pisces from here. --------- "Speech" Thoughts OOC: exit ~
