The fox had been traveling with Kallista, his best friend, for some time now. Todd didn't have a problem with that. He'd been feeling strange recently, but in a good way. Whenever he was around her he felt happy, and whenever they were separated, whether it was for a minute or an hour, he felt a gaping hole inside of himself and would seek her out again. It was making him fidgety and uncomfortable and he didn't know what it was. Todd simply assumed it was out of a fear of what would happen if he left. Just look what had happened last time!

There it was, that sinking feeling again.

As an immediate response to it, Todd swung his head around, looking for her- because they'd traveled here together, to Polaris, and she couldn't be far away.

Like a boomerang, Todd always seemed to find himself coming back here. Maybe it was the lights, or simply fate itself, who knows? But much like with everything else, Todd didn't find himself questioning, or even considering it. Right now, everything was about finding her, and filling in that hole in his chest again.

Kallista and Todd had walked over to Polaris, perhaps to just get away from Pisces. She followed Todd, looking around at all of the lights. The room was very colorful, and she found that she quite liked it. Her head swung wildly as she looked around. She was starting to get used to the loss of her eye, but it was still hard. It would take a while.

Sometimes she would stop for a moment and thoroughly look around, maybe even walk away a bit. That didn't last long though, because Todd would come look for her. She would then stick close to the silver fox, not really wanting to leave his side. That never lasted long, either. She was curious about this place, and would sniff at a few things here and there. That was what she was doing now. She was sniffing a cluster of rocks when she looked up to see Todd swinging his head around, likely looking for her. She got up and walked over to him, pressing against him, letting him know she was here.

It was clear he didn't like them being separated, and honestly, neither did she. Kallista felt safer being by his side, although it wouldn't make much difference. If they came across the one who had hurt her, they couldn't do much damage. She was still injured, although she was much better now. Her wounds hardly even hurt that much. She stayed pressed against Todd, letting the comfort of being against him wash through her. She felt safe, and happy.

Todd didn't have to look for much longer, lucky for him. Soon Kallista was there by his side again, and he turned to look at her with a fangs-bared foxy grin on his face. His usual look, and one that she was probably used to by now. His chocolate brown eyes, whilst fixed on her for a few long moments, soon began to wander again. His entire body soon followed as the fox scampered off to investigate a nearby glowing crystal.

He'd never found one on the ground before! it was sticking out of the ground in a cluster about the size of his head, covered in jagged bits and sharp edges. But Todd was so excited that he didn't seem to notice. He'd always wanted something that glowed.

And without a second thought, he wrapped his teeth around a large spire of crystal, and pulled. It took a while, and no shortage of pulling and tugging and growling, but eventually a loose shard broke off into the fox's jaws, and he clutched it close as he tumbled backwards with the force of his own pulling. After a few moments, he hauled himself to his paws and shot towards Kallista, his hind paws bouncing along behind him.

Reaching her, he dropped it at her paws.

"We can share this," he told her happily. "Isn't it pretty?"
