Tuck was so busy enjoying his delicious fruit that he didn’t notice that the wolf had followed him for a good thirty seconds. By the time he turned his head and saw her, he had globs of fruit down his front and sticky juice dribbling from his mouth. He stared at her for a good long while, and then felt suddenly very uncomfortable. “What do you want?” he asked her, holding his fruit protectively in both hands close to his chest and feeling like he really wanted to climb up into the safety of the trees right now. He began to sidle up to the trunk of the nearest tree, hoping she wouldn’t notice.

Well, that was anticlimatic.

The smirk faded from the gilded lady's face somewhat, instead her head tilting to one side. She was thinking for a while. What would be the most fun? It seemed she'd come to a bit of a dead end. Yeah, what did she want? That was a very good question. The small one seemed to be making a run for it at this point.

Kin-Kin didn't care about that; whilst they were funny at first, it seemed she had overstayed her welcome and it wasn't so funny anymore. She gave a small snort and instead moved towards the fruit tree they'd been plucking from, dropping her nose to curiously sniff at the juice. Now the wolf wasn't a glutton, she knew that much; but she'd went her entire life without tasting something sweet! The scent of it perturbed her.

Her tail waving from side to side in an engaged sort of way, Kin-Kin licked at a fruit, and frowned. She couldn't taste it through the skin, perhaps an obvious thing to most... But that meant she'd need to actually bite it! She was above getting her beautiful fur covered in sticky juice. Especially now, when she had company.

As a result, she snorted and turned up her nose. That being said however, she continued to eye the fruit...

Tuck forgot all about his own fruit as he watched the wolf lick one of the low-hanging fruits on the bush. He ended up staring at her like she was a crazy person. “What’re you doing?” he asked finally, when she snorted and turned away from the fruit as if it had offended her. “Are you crazy or somethin’? You don’t look like you eat fruit. Oh. You hungry, too?” Oh wait. Oh no! Tuck quickly scrambled up the nearest tree, clinging to the bark and turning his head to look down on the wolf. “You hungry, you no eat me! No eat Tuck! Go find other food! Go away!”

Tuck was very small, and very afraid, and even though the wolf could no longer reach him, he was still nervous. He climbed higher up in the tree until he was on the first branch up, which he sat upon, and stared down at the wolf with big orange eyes.

Kin-Kin tilted her head at the incredulous look they gave her, and she couldn't help but snicker. Their reactions went from entirely reasonable, to more and more irrational, and Kin-Kin found the evolution path their actions took hilarious. "What?" she asked them. "Would you prefer it if I were trying to eat you, then?" she cooed, her voice dripping with mirth and sarcasm.

The wolf looked around, finally finding them in a nearby tree.

"Like I said, you wouldn't even be big enough to snack on. I'd be picking your bones out of my teeth for weeks!" Cruel, yet oh so true. The wolf turned her attention back to the berry bush and snapped up the biggest, plumpest fruit she could find. Not... exactly what she was expecting it to taste like. Fruit wasn't all it was hyped up to be.

She gave a disappointed huff and licked some juice off her face.

"Can't say that's quite my idea of a meal... but it'll do. I was expecting it to be... less bitter," she contemplated, as though examining the taste of an exquisite wine. This little one's antics had been fun for a while, but it was starting to grow boring simply taunting them. "Ya can come down, you know. I ain't really gonna eat you!" whether or not they'd believe her was yet to be seen, but she really did mean it.

She wasn't a completely heartless asshole.

It didn’t matter if the wolf was telling the truth or not. Tuck just didn’t like the canid — not one bit! So when she continued teasing him about picking his bones out of her teeth — an idea that made him shudder despite himself — and then insisted he come down because she wasn’t really going to eat, he was disinclined to believe a word she said. “No!” he shouted down to her, glaring with his burnt-orange eyes. “I no like you!” He opened his mouth to tell her to go away again, and then realized that he was up there in the trees where she couldn’t reach him even if she tried. With a smirk of satisfaction, he simply leapt away through the trees, leaving her there on the floor of the forest. Ha! He’d shown her!

Words: 139 @Kin-Kin -- I figured this was a good ending point, considering this thread is rather old and Tuck really doesn't like her at all lmao. XD

Kin-Kin grinned, although there was a twinge of disappointment. Seemed she'd gone too far after all... She couldn't help but grin even so at the thoughts. They had been asking for it in her opinion. As she watched them bounce away through the treetops, the she-wolf began to consider her next move, not dwelling for a moment on the fun she could have had and instead sniggering at what she'd done already.

She was getting bored of living in Eridanus; sure, it was pretty here, but she was starting to itch to explore the rest of the caves. She felt it wouldn't be hard to slip away... she hadn't seen anyone around here for quite some time. It was getting boring, and she longed for something a bit more exciting. Who knows, she might end up finding someone else to toy with... something she'd missed as of late.

And so, with a wolfish grin splitting her face, the wolf bounded off into the undergrowth, her head held low and pawsteps purposeful.
