This Chrysalis had been in Polaris for a very, very long time. For the longest time, it had been dormant, the creature inside never growing or changing. But then, when two Gembounds fought, their Magic had collided with the Chrysalis, prompting its growth. The Chrysalis had turned from brown, to being half black, half red, the two colors mixing with seemingly no rhyme or reason, as though they were fighting.

As the Chrysalis inside grew, so did the beast inside. It went from a regular wolf pup, to a malformed one. Fur turned from grey to orange, the grey migrating and darkening into little more than markings. Ears grew to be much too large in size, and legs became ungainly long. The Chrysalis held onto this Gembound for the longest time, before finally the Gembound awoke.

'Whe... where am I?' Mis-matched eyes opened, one red, one blue. She stretched her legs, touching the bottom of the Chrysalis. Was she stuck? Well, she couldn't have that. So she began to twist, before finally shattering the Chrysalis in a single move. The Gembound dropped to the ground, staggering as she tried to get her ungainly legs under control.

"I'm speaking..."

It's a new world
It's a new start
And it's alive with the beating of a young heart

Azar heard a voice, and padded towards it, panting. Was it another gembound? He certainly hoped so - his tail began wagging at the thought. He increased his pace, bounding along hopefully with his ears pricked. He skidded to a stop in front of the creature, who looked like it’d just hatched.
"Hello there! Wow, you’re so pretty! What’s your name? I’m Azar, but you can call me whatever you want!" Azar’s tail wagged furiously as he sat down on clumsy paws in front of the young-looking gembound. He was excited, that much was obvious by the delighted expression on his face as he addressed the gembound. A new friend! He loved the idea of helping a new gembound.

The young Gemling stumbled, attempted to get her long legs under control. They felt too long, as though they should, somehow, be shorter. But surely, if they were that long, they should be that way? She took a few stops, wobbling like a newborn foal, before finally beginning to get her legs under control. Her movements became more fluid, more befitting a predator.

Over-sized ears twitched this way and that, picking up the sound of something hitting the ground over and over. She turned to see a creature that looked rather like a differently shaped her sprinting in her direction. The Maned Wolf took a step back to keep from being run into, smiling at the little Gembound.

"Thank you!" she smiled, wagging her own tail. She sat down as well, so as to be eye-to-eye with Azar. "I'm Malachai, you can call me Mal! It's nice to meet you Azar!" Her tail thumped excitedly on the ground.
