The Results Are In! Spells, Polls, and Staff!
Spell Contest Results!
We are VERY excited to finally release some of the winning spells from the Design A Spell contest! You'll be able to find the following spells in the
spell shop...
Drift - An
Energy spell that will allow users to produce a doppleganger of themselves for a short period of time.
Prism - A
Light spell that splits photons into different wavelengths, or concentrates them into a weak laser.
Mist Cover - A
Water spell that dissipates water in the area into a thick fog surrounding the user.
Translocate - An
Arcane spell that switches two physical objects.
In addition to these spells, a new non-elemental spell has been discovered:
Sensoral Link - A powerful
Non-Elemental spell that allows the user to form a mental bond with their target. This spell is incredibly powerful and has a low success rate.
Congratulations to those whose spells won! Java, Shafaer, Elizabeth and Dark may claim ʡ100 for their winning spells! If your spell didn't make it this time around,
don't worry! We actually picked a LOT of spells, and have decided to slowly release the rest of the winners in future news posts or as quest rewards! So keep your eyes peeled, you may see your own spells yet!
Breeding Time and Achievements Poll
Once again, we'd like to thank everybody for their input! It really means a lot to us to receive constructive feedback, so we've thought long and hard on your answers and have decided to go through with both changes. From now on, Gembounds will be able to begin breeding at 4 cycles old instead of 6. However to compensate for this, the number of allowed offspring has been reduced from 5 to 3 per breeding cycle. These changes are reflected in the Guidebook. Achievements will be a special feature that we are going to introduce in the near future, once we've whipped some up, of course! :) We are also going to be accepting Achievement Suggestions in the near future, so keep an eye out for that too!
OTM Features
As promised, those special OTM pages have finally been finished! You can read up on the current and past winners of OTM awards
on this page - it is also linked to by the images on the news header! Our automatic OTM voting feature has also been refined and is ready for use! You can see the page
here! Of course, you can't vote quite yet - voting will automatically open on the 25th. Don't worry, we'll remind you with a link when its open!
Inactivity Check
Our auto-sorting feature has also been fine-tuned and is now in place. This feature will automatically group inactive accounts into the "Inactive" group. You must be posting once every 25 days, after which point, if no activity is seen within 24 hours of the 25 day cutoff, your account will be inactive.
New Staff Member!
We'd like to extend a great big, warm welcome to our newest staff member,
Banshee! Banshee was kind enough to volunteer her time to helping keep Origin up to date as a moderator, which means monitoring the Update Me!, Magicka Market, and Member List threads, as well as accepting new characters and making GM posts as a Game Master. Your are all encouraged to harass her now when you need something done. ;)
Site-Wide Event!
Okay, so its not so much an event as it is a
game... but thats okay! Our lovable lamb Wynry has traveled to Eridanus in search of participants for a game of
Truth or Dare! Everybody is invited to come and play along, or just stand by and watch! I wonder who will show up! What should I wear? Do you think Deer Dad will be there?
I heard its a boy-girl party.

With the arrival of a new Gembound in the cave comes a certain mouse catching session! Fisher shows up to help catch some mice for little Quixy, but Cancer comes in and demands that he unhands his daughter! What will become of Fisher? Of Quixy? Of Cancer?
Lost within the confines of ones thoughts
Arkrael and a deer named Vazi are happily skipping around in Polaris, chatting and having a good time. They hear roaring, and find Svarog the yeti taking on an army of golems! Rushing in, we can only hope it will have a good ending! Who will win?
Roll the Bones
A hyena has set up shop in Canis, telling the fortunes of every Gembound that passes through. Will these fortunes come true, or are they playful fable told by the hyena just for kicks?
a tasty treat
Teyouma intrudes on Pisces and devours some mushrooms that leave the monkey with an unfortunate thought impediment. Chaos ensues as the members of Maji Walezi rush to stop the monkey from causing destruction, only for Midas to accidentally constrict the intruder to death.
