Aerie watched through squinted eyes as Sharp inspected the stone, cooing happily at her mummy's approval. She didn't know what any of the words she said meant, but that was okay! She got the meaning fine enough. From what she could gather... they were going to leave? Okay! That was just an adventure, right?

Right.

When the paw pressed down on her head, she snorted, pawing at the clawed limb, thinking they were playing before growing bored. She yawned and stretched out, shaking her floppy ears from side to side. She flopped herself down against Sharp and curled her wee frame against the cooling scales of the lizard, holding her back feet with her front ones, purring as she kneaded her teeny tiny toes. With her eyes shut, she slowly drifted off, the foot that had pressed her down now resting on her back, providing comfort and security.

She fell asleep after a few minutes, ears down and nose gently flaring as she breathed.

Exit Aerie to sleep.

Quiet.

It took a bit for the (still nameless) baby to settle down. They played with her paw and shuffled about before finally growing quiet. They flopped their ears (aww!) curled up right next to her (aaaww!) and finally drifted off into silence once again. Sharp didn't dare move-- she just laid down right next to them and watched that tiny chest rise and fall.

Time passed-- a minute? An hour? Half a day? She couldn't really tell in the darkness of the den. Still, thoughts trickled through her mind. This child, as cute and adorable as they were, was also weak. She'd have to stall their move a bit, figure out how to fit them in... and see someone for a deal.

She needed to keep them warm during the trip, and that required a blanket. Of course, the little lizard herself was a craftsman, but she didn't have the fine tuning (or pelts) needed to make one. She'd have to find someone, and likely pay them-- but that was no worry, she had so many gemstones! She could just give away a couple of them. It would be worth it, after all.

After a long time, once the cave lights had grown dim, Sharp gently untangled herself from Aerie's grasp. She quietly slipped outside the den, triple-checked that no one was around to notice the sleeping gembound within, and made her way to the entrance. I'll be back soon.

Exit Sharp.
