The berry was right there. Tantalizingly close. Oh well, she reached in a paw and plucked out the orange berry. Then felt sharp fangs sink into her leg. "Ouch!" Comet withdrew her paw, which held an orange berry-- and a fleasnake.

Comet reached down to try and bite the fleasnake off, but it reach up and bit her on the nose. She shook her head, trying to fling off the stupid snake, but it only clung on harder. Darn!

Comet couldn't feel any pain on her nose, as the venom from the flea snake numbed the pain. But that did not stop her from shaking her head to try and get it off. She was starting to get dizzy, and was about to stop, when she saw the black snake fly off her nose.

It fell onto the ground, and she walked over and pressed down onto it with her paw, pinning it in place.

She didn't believe in killing lessers for no reason, and she felt a bit sorry for the snake. But it had bitten her for no reason, and she didn't want the same thing to happen to other animals. With a swift bite to the neck, the fleasnake was dead.

Now, where was she? Oh yes, she returned to the spot where she had dropped the orange berry and added it to her pile. Another color down! Now which should be next? Blue sounded nice! It would have to be a berry this time though.

EARNED: Orange Berry

The shiny blue berry hung among the leaves of the bush, and Comet picked them without much trouble. She had a lot of different colored berries and feathers now, so she was ready to return home. With her collection of berries and feathers in her mouth, she left Eridanus to go home.
