Sigurd
The Shadow in the Dark
The warmth was welcome against the biting cold winds of Ursa, the young wolf cub had hurried past the entrance and into the steam filled tunnel. It was a gloriously welcome warmth, He hadn’t spent more than a few hours in Ursa but he had spent enough time there that his paws had gone numb. So the warmth of the ground was welcomed as it slowly thawed the cold from his, bringing back the feeling as tiny pin pricks. The young wolf stood still for a moment shaking each of his limbs in turn as they slowly gained back their feeling. The warmth was welcome. He really had decided he did not like the cold at all, and wanted to avoid it as much as he possibly could. So perhaps going into the caves beyond Ursa were not to be in his plans.

Emerald green eyes squiterd into the steam as he looked ahead. It was rather thick here where the snow was still very prominent. After his paws had stopped with the pins and needles and no longer tingled, he started on his way through the tunnel. Here it was interesting, his first time through he had hurried through on pure enthusiasm and curiosity. Now he was taking his time and looking closer at the interior of this tunnel. The young wolf moved from the center of the path and closer to the walls, here he looked at the strangeness of how strange reddish orange fluid leaked from the walls. He dared not get closer than a few feet as even here he could feel the immense heat coming off of it, burning his nose and beginning to singe his fur.

The young wolf backed up blinking his eyes at the heat, the cub moved back to the snow and licked at some of it to cool his nose and insides. Sigurd flopped onto his side rolling his long thick fur in the cold snow to cool himself. His curiosity would lead to causing him problems later if he wasn’t careful. Having cooled himself down the young wolf shook his head several times and sneezed each time as he did. The young wolf licked his nose and blinked several times looking farther down the tunnel. Slowly the young wolf began to make his way down the tunnel.

The farther down the tunnel the young wolf moved, the warmer it got. For him that wasn’t fun, of course his fur kept him cool to a degree, but in such a cramped space with such humidity it was hard on him. The farther in he moved the more the young wolf’s mouth began to hang open as he started to pant. The snow had far since melted away completely giving way to the hard stone floor beneath. The cold snow was now beginning to become a welcome thing from the humidity and heat. Perhaps now it wouldn’t be so bad going back to visit Cygnus in Cephus. Perhaps things would be different. This tunnel was making him think twice about not going through the snow. However he still thought he would probably regret it moving back through Cephus to Leo.

As the young wolf approached the exit of the tunnel that led into Leo. There was a welcome breeze that swished up into his face from the well lit exit of the tunnel. Though the young wolf kept a close watch where he placed his paws, in order to keep from accidentally ending up in a geyser. A soft smile took its place on his muzzle as he strode towards the exit. The young pup was enthusiastically heading for the sands and bay of Leo where he could splash in the water and enjoy the waters.
EXIT SIGURD TO LEO UNLESS STOPPED
