Rough tongue licked the kitten dry, and he settled contentedly into Wilder's soft fur. The glimmer of golden starlight and feathers shrouded them from the world, and it was as though they were all in a secret pillow fort made just by their own creator.

You-me, claimed the first, snake-child that brushed his side. The second-- purring loud enough for all three children-- claimed a different sound entirely: Ceeg-nuhs... Both were perfectly good names, but the little hairless kitten didn't know the first thing about names.

It seemed only proper that if the two others had names, that he too should have a name.

There was a limited amount of words that he knew, and so he stuck with his first instinct: "M'beans. Beans. Beans!" And there it was. A beautiful name for a little kitten. It wouldn't be so graceful in a few cycles, like a human growing up into an old man but still going by "Timmy"-- but those were worries that simply couldn't begin to touch the hatchling.

Wilder gasped softly as the snake-cat went tumbling out of the pile, wobbly and uncoordinated, and she reached to pull her upright again, but the maresnake seemed content to lay on the floor, so Wilder just reached out a paw to pull her back in against her. She was warm from all sides, loved from all sides, and she had never purred so hard in her life. If this one moment could stretch out into eternity, she would be more then happy to spend the rest of her infinite days surrounded by the purring, warm bodies of her children, who loved her unconditionally, who were all good and calm and happy.

As each came around to their names, sounding them out, Wilder touched each of them with her nose, repeating them afterwards. "Yume, Cygnus, Beans. Those are good names." And she did mean it - however adorable and silly she might have thought Beans was in particular, whatever they decided was perfect.

The air was sleepy and content - so different from many hatches she had attended, but she didn't mind. She continued gently grooming each in turn as she offered, "If you're tired, go and sleep. I will be here when you wake up."
