"Ha! I'm not that big," Doru commented with amusement. "And Vindicator is more... Well, its hard to describe, actually, in form, at least."

The gift that Anala had given them though... Perhaps it might work, perhaps not. A connection was wished for, and that was something Doru appreciated, the intent. They were, however, glad that the wish had not gone about doing this in a more invasive manner.

But looking at the items, Doru felt the urge to hide them away where they would never see the light of day. Not that Doru would, but they doubted they would give the other to their child, either. Maybe they could come up with some alternate purpose.

"I'll help you put on your gift," they agreed, voice still warm and meaning it. Because Anala meant well and just because their own wish was something they'd need to achieve on their own, did not mean Doru did not appreciate the intent.

And so they did exactly that, carefully putting on the harness without scratching the wolf with golden venom laced claws. "There's a pouch for carrying things, too, whatever the rest of it does," Doru commented. "That's useful."

Anala did not miss the look on Doru's face upon seeing her wish, and she could not help but to feel a little guilty. Perhaps she should have given them something a little more generally useful, like... Well, who was she kidding? It was all she could think of.
"I am sorry if my wish did not suit you, Doru. In both of our meetings it was the only thing that really stuck with me, and I hoped it could provide you an opportunity." She was rambling now, holding still while Doru slipped the harness under her stomach. There was no doubt she trusted the other, given their knowledge of the venom that coated their claws, however harmless.
"You could trade them, I'm sure, for something better suited to you. Or maybe your little one can use them with someone else they care about one day, like you and Vindicator. That's what I wished for, for you to have help finding that same connection that the both of you share... Was that too much?"
She had totally overstepped, hadn't she? She had totally misread the situation. But, what else was she to wish for? Doru wished the same for her, in the end, for the one thing she'd expressed trouble with in both of their meetings. It was personal to her, too, telling someone about her failures.
"I don't even know what my gift does yet, and still I am sure you have wished better for me. Even just the pouch would prove useful if not for whatever magic it obviously holds. Thank you Doru, truly. And please, do let me know if I could make up for my mistake. I'm sure you know I only meant well, but..."

Anala stopped herself, pausing to take a long, deep breath. "What's done is done, I know that. I only hope you think no less of me, and that I might still meet your family some day." She nodded, mostly to herself, and looked up to meet Doru's eyes. Ultimately, she meant well with her wish. She just hoped Doru felt the same.
