Fisher blinked at Black as the mastiff answered, a huff escaping from his (sincerely less wobbly) jowls. He raised a paw to bat gently at the big black dog's nose, a chuckle escaping from his chest. "I don't even think we've been alive for a year, Black. Was it a cycle, maybe?" He offered. "Maybe two..." To be honest, he had no idea, but it didn't really matter. He was ready to hang out for as long as it would take, anyway.

Fallah rose to her paws and offered to get something to eat. The noodle flashed a grin at her, his tail wagging gently behind him. "If only there were more turkeys around... I'm good with just a rat, though, if you don't mind." The fisher cat stretched out, his long mustelid body cracking in a few places along his spine. It felt good, and his body promptly splayed out into squishy black fur.

"I think I might take a nap."

@Black @Fallah ; we could wrap this up if you guys want :O

Black tilted his heavy head, and gave a soft woof of approval.

"I will watch," he declared, a thump of his tail emphasizing his words. His thoughts drifted, images flashing before him in the darkness, and he spoke as they came, narrating his thoughts to Fisher. It wasn't exactly conversation, but it was probably the closest he came to it.

"What will it become? A bark, a thin-brown, a furry thing that runs? Will it have sparks and lightning and smoke, and burn itself? Will it be silly, and laugh, young and broken. Will it bark? Will it bounce? Will it run? Will it run the right way, this time, when you call?"

Black paused, considering this for a long moment.

"It must, this time. We will teach it."

With this offering declared--an offer of shared parenthood, perhaps, or a statement that he'd simply help Fisher raise this rock (which would apparently take YEARS to hatch, in his mind)--Black laid his head back down again.

He would wait.

Fallah offered a light smile and hum at Fisher, "Turkeys... We'll see what I can get." The lynx moved to leave, but was caught by Black's words. would it be a noodle or a bark? Something of both? Black pondered these questions. Fallah's eyes fell to the ground, "Will it remember Fisher? Deus? Or... Will it be completely new?" Her maw closed over her mumbling. Black asked if it would come when called. Fallah turned, looking at her friends each in turn, "It will. It will be one of us. We always come to each other when called." With a firm nod, Fallah turned to go off and hunt.

And so off Fallah went to hunt food for them. The noodle closed his eyes, content to let his friends help him for every step of the way. He wondered if Black really would watch the gem forever... If so, well, Black was probably the best pal a guy could ask for.

The mustelid relaxed and his breathing slowed until dreams of snow and fog came to him, the distant roar of noodle dads, dragons and yetis haunting him but never quite getting close enough to threaten him. He had his friends to protect him, and no King nor Beast could stop them from surviving.

Besides, soon he'd have more than his own skin to worry about.
