Winter could smell the happiness radiating from Kielo. She looked up and was met with Kielo's joyful expression. "Yes, I think it did. It connected us because it knew we'd come together." And come together they did. She turned and gave the flower one last affectionate nuzzle before turning in the direction of the tunnel leading out of Polaris. She looked back at Kielo, her tongue flicking with excitement. "I know, it was very strange leaving Polaris for the first time. But it'll be fun, I promise. I've only really been to a couple of rooms, but there's a lot more! If you ever think you've lost me, just call out and I'll respond. We'll figure this out, work together!"

She wiggled with excitement before turning back towards the tunnel. "Follow me, the exit is this way!"

Kielo responded with a grin and a resolute nod, excitedly padding after the snake as she lead the way, eager and sure in their step. They were almost at loathe to leave the wonderful flower-scent that hung around them, but they caught one last whiff before leaving the flower behind. "Okay! got it!" they said, Winter's words filling them with confidence. They fanned their tail behind them as they walked, allowing them to feel the terrain around them as they passed it by. Perhaps this would be useful for traversing the tunnels? Until now, they hadn't noticed just how large their tail had become. But they could feel it trailing on the ground, and they couldn't remember such a feeling from their younger days.

Kielo had no idea that they'd grown up, from a small and bedraggled little pup, into an elegant hybrid, but they had. "I'm coming, Winter," they called out as they followed, taking a moment of silence to imprint the scents and the sounds and the feeling under their paws to their memory. However far they traveled, they wanted to make sure they always knew the way back.

What's this? it appears that the link between characters is beginning to fade, and soon, it will be gone. The flower's cores are losing their power, and soon the chance of reuniting them will die, leaving behind a useless pearl, lovely but sad. The flowers that have not been found begin to wilt, their petals dropping one by one. The wonderful scent, fades.

If the cores are not reunited by the 16th of April, their magic will fade for good, and the remaining flowers will wither! (Note: reunion threads started before the cut-off date will have until the 1st of May to finish them)

Perhaps, it seemed to take a lifetime, or perhaps, it was two cycles well-spent. No matter how the fortunate... or maybe unfortunate bonded saw their situation, it was over now. Wrath faded into silence. pride into emptiness. Happiness left a lingering warmth, but it, too, was gone. The small pearls that the flowers left behind grew dull, and colourless iike beads of solid milk.

The lonely flowers that had called, in despair, to gembounds that might carry them to company, had withered. the scent that lingered so close, was rotten. To those who'd stumbled on a lone flower but never seen it crumble; those lonely, unfortunate souls might return one day to find their flower, withered and its pearl, lifeless.
