For Eeya? (And anyone else)

What noise? Loud noise? Where? Up ahead? Water? Lots of water? Pretty water, but loud! Why so loud! Too loud! … No, not too loud! Just right! Fun loud! Get closer! Even closer! Running over slick rocks. Sliding. Weeee! Fun sliding! Not like last time. Last time ran into wall from sliding This time no walls around. So happy fun sliding time! Run, run, run, sliiiiide! Weeee! Sliding, sliding! Close to waterfall now. How it fall from celling? Amazing! Maybe something cool at bottom of water! Look down. Ohhhh… Long way down. Reeeaaally long way down. Scary, scary. Maybe she leave… NO. NO LEAVING. She brave! Brave!

Back up a little. Little more. Need more running space. That good. Okay. Now… GO! Run, run, run, JUMP! Falling! Still falling! Bad idea! Scary! Screaming! AUGH. COLD WATER. Water cold! Spluttering! Water pounding on head! Can’t get up! Can’t breathe! Just like last time! Gonna die?! No! No, don’t wanna die! DON’T WANNA DIE. Swim! Swim!

vision… going dark… so tired. help. can’t… breathe… light? see light…? what? no more light. darkness…

Head pounding… Uggghhh… Feel awful. What happen? Owww… Body hurt. Head hurt. Bruises. Pain. Ow. What noise? Waterfall…? WATERFALL. Fell! No, JUMPED. Why jump? She stupid! So stupid! Why ever jump! No more jumping! And mean waterfall!

Eeya had been swimming, swimming, swimming around in the underground tunnels. What exactly was he doing? Playing of course! It was fun to do as many twists and turns as he could and he'd even found a new game where he could make bubbles with his blowhole and swim through them! Perhaps he'd have to find Mawra and show her this new game! Maybe she could make bubbles too?

While he was down below in the murky depths he was starting to get low on air so for the moment he abandoned his game and swam towards the surface. He was near Pisces because the leader-air-critter had said that he could be in Maji Walezi as part of the scouts! How fun! All he had to do was report on the tunnels and the waters and bring fish every now and again. The dolphin kicked his tail lazily as he glided up to the surface. It was then that he saw or rather felt after a few clicks of echolocation, a shape floundering in the water. It held the distinct shape of some sort of land-critter... a land-critter that was drowning. Oh! Those silly land animals, always falling into water and floundering about with their awful toe-fins.

No matter! Eeya was here to rescue any hapless land-critters!

The dolphin put a renewed kick to his tail fin and zoomed upwards straight towards the creature and caught it on his head. He powered himself to the surface and got the creautre out of the water and took a breath all at the same time. Perhaps he should drop the animal off on land but nope! He wanted to look into its eyes as it came to. Maybe he could scare it and then they'd both have a nice laugh on how it was alive now! Yes yes! That would be fun! So, the young dolphin sat in the middle of the lagoon with the land-critter on his melon and beak while he stared at it with his large blue eyes... waiting for it to come to.

Hey, wait... Was it coming to now? Only one way to find out! The dolphin put on a large grin and whistled at the top of his lungs, "HAAAAAAIIIIIIII!"

"HAAAAAAIIIIIIII!"

“Ahhhhhhhhhh! Hiiiiiiii tooooooo! What?? Who? Loud! Too loud! Where? Let me off! Wanna get down! Put down!” Words spouted all over the place, no different from the way she thought things. She was the type to say everything she was thinking without a filter. “Slippery. What on? Why slippery? Owww head! Head hurts! Why yelling? No more yelling! It hurt head more!” Paws scrabble and slip on slippery surface. Splash! Fall back into water. Ugh, water. Crawls slowly onto shore. Has forgotten about slippery-yelling-thing. Lays still, taking breaths. Deep breaths. More deep breaths. More. Headache leaving slowly… slowly. Never jumping again!

Suddenly remembers slippery-talking-thing. Paws under her, turning to face it. “What who?” It was the only way she knew how to ask, ‘Who are you?’ “You big and grey and slippery. But have blue too. What blue. Looks different. Weird.” Forgets again. Mind goes blank. Time to leave waterfall. Step. More step. Why so slippery? Trying to leave! Waterfall not want she to leave?! “Ugh! Why waterfall mean! No mean, Waterfall! She leaving! Don’t try stop! Still will leave!” Jump, jump! Only way forward past slippery is to jump! Have to get away from waterfall! Mean waterfall! And – wait… Grey slippery talk thing.

Turning. Look for. Found. “Oh, you. What who?” she asked again, having not been paying any attention to the dolphin for the past minute-and-a-half. This was going to be interesting.

The dolphin laughed out loud. Oh, that reaction was priceless! Totally worth it! The little girl started talking a mile a minute and yelling herself right after saying her head hurt. What did Eeya think about all of this? "Ehkikikiki, you be funny!" Eeya took her closer to the shore so that when she decided to leave it wouldn't drop her back into the water. When she finally made it to the ground he sat, head above water, staring at her with an amused smile on his gray face. He wanted to know what else she would say!

"Eeya!" He answered her question of who he was. Her fragmented words weren't too different from his own so he understood her perfectly, even if she didn't whistle when she spoke. The dolphin laughed again when she said he was "weird" well, that wasn't very nice but two could play at that fun game. "You weird! Talk weird, silly land-critter!" He whistled.

Her words were so disjoined and funny! He loved it! Trying to keep up with what she was saying was like a game, a game he was winning! "Waterfalls no is mean! Waterfalls is just waters! Falling waters! No feelings!" He sang. "See?" He turned and smacked his tail on the water as if to show just how few feelings water did have. Of course, that large smack with his tail sent water spraying everywhere. Possibly on the creature which may or may not have been intentional. "See? No feelings!"

When the creature asked again who he was Eeya sang just as happily, "Eeya! Who is you?" As he went closer to shore so he could stare up at her with his large playful blue eyes.

After a moment of waiting it seemed that the little land critter was intent on ignoring him... or rather, continuing on after giving no name. Even when he called to her she continued on. Deciding that the hyper critter probably had something she wanted to do. Ah well, Eeya had stuff he had to do too. So with a wave of his fin he popped underneath the water and zoomed away.
