The round pulled up from the water, slowly turning into ice as it formed. Once it was solid, it plonked down in front of Fallah with a sharp thud. It actually looked about the exact same as the other one. Fallah figured he’d have to try again to make a new one that was better, but there was no sense in not playing with this one while it was all not broken. The cat chased the ball around again, still enjoying his simple game. Nothing too great about the ball, it was just fast and hard to catch, kind of like a prey animal. The way it slid and rolled around was hard for the young lynx to predict, and it kept his mind occupied. Like the other, however, this one eventually broke as well. Maybe it was the shape, or maybe it was the way the water was coming together. Instead of just hitting these into the water, Fallah had another idea. He thought that if he hit the lump towards the water, maybe he could make an ice spike appear in front of the lump and then they would crash together and shatter. It would be good target practice for later. Rearing, Fallah shot the ice ball towards the river and summoned his magic.

The lump of ice soared over the water at a fast speed. It was perfect for shattering ice spikes, except no ice spike formed. Fallah tried to make it happen, he really did, but when it came to it, nothing happened. The cat huffed and glared at the water. Why would it disobey him like that? He just wanted to shatter the ice with other ice. The sound was nice and, for whatever reason, it was fun to Fallah. Even though his mood was temporarily dampened, the lynx was not about to give up. He still had one more half ice round left after all. He knew he had to try harder than that to make an ice spike farther away from him, though. It was so hard to be serious and focus when he was having fun, though. Padding around for a moment, Fallah tried to get serious. He repeated the word in his head several time. Each time his paw hit the ground, he’d say it to himself. Finally, he figured he understood. The cat turned to the water, surveying it’s surface. He tried to imagine an ice spike forming in a particular spot in the river. Aiming for that spot, he swat the ice round and tried again to summon his magic.

The lump of ice soared over the water, just like the one before it. Midway through its path, it crossed over the point Fallah had been focusing on. With a sudden jerk, the water lifted, an icy spike rising just as the icy round was passing. The two collided and smashed with a loud shatter. A giggle escaped the cat’s maw and he jumped up excitedly. It felt so good to have something like that actually work! The cat shook its pelt and danced a little in place, watching the shattered ice bob up and down in the river. Magic really could be fun and useful. The lynx had to give it that, even though he had never been too big with magic, it had usually helped him when he needed it. Now that he was playing with it, he had to admit it was amazing. Fallah was thrilled he was able to do so much with just himself and his magic. The cat flicked his tongue over his lower jaw, which was comprised of the stone that held his magic. This thing really was amazing. The lynx was awestruck, unsure of what to do next. Maybe he should make more spikes! Yes, more spikes would be cool. Flicking his paw, Fallah summoned spikes.

MAGICKA LEVEL 100%

No spikes happened. No magic happened. Fallah knew better than to be disappointed at this point, but he was wondering just where his limits were. Could he run out of magic? He knew if he didn’t have the water right here, he would have gotten much tired much faster. He was panting, though he wasn’t sure if that was from running or from casting magic. He was tired. He was actually very tired, but he couldn’t end his playtime with a failed spell! He had to go out with a bang, but not a real one, of course! He thought for a minute if he could do something cool with his water powers before going to rest. Hey, he had fluffly fur, maybe he could sleep IN the ice! That would be cool. It would be like digging a hole in snow or something to sleep in. He could even attach it to the wall and that would be so cool! The lynx readied himself, aiming to run up the wall and cast a water wall around and under him. If it worked, he would have a little cradle on the wall to rest in. If it didn’t work… he could always sleep on the ground.

The ice came and formed around him like he wanted. It was cool, both literally and metaphorically. While Fallah wanted nothing more than to sleep in his ice bed, he had to admit it looked kind of thin. Looking at the edges, the cat decided he probably should go somewhere safer to sleep like the nice green place. It wasn’t that far anyway. It was just through one tunnel and stuff. Fallah could totally make the trip, even being this tired. He decided, leaping down from his ice cradle, the cat turned to admire his magic work once more. It really was so super cool what magic could do, making ice and stuff. He noted in his head that he would have to try stuff other than ice later. He looked at his now melting perches and walls, thinking about when he could use that spell again. He totally had to show the long brown friend. He bet Fisher would be pretty impressed… maybe… okay maybe he wouldn’t but Fallah didn’t have a lot of choices when it came to friends to show magic to. With one last glance around, the lynx turned on his heels and padded out of the tunnel towards the green lands where he could get some sleep.
